We were able to get up and running quickly and were happy that Sproutvideo's features matched our unique requirements. In particular, we needed to be able to manage viewer logins, and Sproutvideo allows you to create (or batch upload) unique viewer logins and monitor viewer analytics for those logins. Their customer success team was also helpful and responsive. We only used Sproutvideo for one video uploaded, but the video was viewed by hundreds of people. We were able to track every login, set start/stop access times, as well as control the number of times the video could be viewed, all of which helped keep the video secure and prevent redistribution. Sproutvideo's pricing plan is mostly centered around how large of an audience you'll be sharing with, so it's important to consider whether it's entire feature set is needed or whether a cheaper option would be sufficient. For our purposes, we really needed a highly secure hosting site that allowed us to create unique logins. **What do you dislike about SproutVideo?** There weren't any major issues since we've started using Sproutvideo. We did have a little trouble figuring out how to handle live streaming our video (their documentation on Zoom integration could be better). This issue was resolved by talking to the customer success team. Overall, my team and I have been very happy with the product! **Recommendations to others considering SproutVideo:** Figure out whether their feature set matches your needs. I can store my videos and retain complete control of how, where, and when they are accessed. I can create passwords to view, embed code, playlists, and have a public-facing page if I want to. Initially, I had a narrow focus - creating video for my courses - but now I don't hesitate to create a video to communicate and train staff, clients, or even explain something to my brother. We needed to adhere to NDA terms, so having someone able to access the videos, which shouldn't be, would be a big issue. Sprout was a turnkey solution to be able to gate and track access to our content. The tracking of viewership in Sprout was vastly superior to services like YouTube. **What do you dislike about SproutVideo?** The price is a bit higher than similar services. If you don't need any of Sprout's unique functionality, there is likely a cheaper option you could use to get by. Options to do batch processes were a bit limited. All in all the service does exactly what we need and at a reasonable price. **What do you dislike about SproutVideo?** I wish the API was a bit more robust in a few areas. These are likely somewhat niche to our use case, but coming from custom storage and jwplayer there are a few things we are missing. **What problems is SproutVideo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using SproutVideo we've been able to remove quite a bit of custom code from our codebase that handled things like video analytics. Our developers don't have to support and fix bugs with a video player now. We found sprout had solid encoding capabilities...everything looks great. Sprout was also technical-minded enough that we could try some unique embeds (like 2.39:1 film anamorphic). On the rare chance, we had an issue, Sprout has always provided excellent, personal technical support. This si probably my favorite thing about them. **What do you dislike about SproutVideo?** There is a lot to like, but way back in the day - if you played a video, you could choose and end-action. You would think one of the end actions would loop to the beginning of the clip, display a thumbnail. Of course, we had to talk with tech support for a moment about this glaring omission. They supplied us with a "code snippet" that we inserted into the page along with the embed code. While this did work, I would have preferred a GUI.
