First it went through our EAP system and then through sparrow via our people team. In addition to that, I didnt realize it was EXACTLY to the day for our policy because everything is discussed in "weeks". So I since I had to go out on a Thursday, my first day back from leave would have been a Friday. My representative, Alex, provided me with all the details and action items I needed to complete to ensure a smooth transition into parental leave. He was also responsive, submitting my claim immediately and checking in every so often to ensure my family and I were doing well and to give the status of our claim. It was nice to have a helping hand to manage the claim and so I could just focus on my family. As for the Sparrow dashboard, it’s easy to navigate, and I appreciate the claim breakdown for helping with planning and budgeting. **What do you dislike about Sparrow?** Through no fault of Sparrows, my claim was delayed. My representative tried to call a few times but couldn’t get through. He then recommended a robo-caller. I had to pay for the robo-caller service and was able to get my claim processed, but I wasn’t expecting I’d have to do that. When there was a question of my potential leave starting early due to a pregnancy complication my specialist was empathetic, gave me words of encouragement and even told me a positive outcome that took place for his wife when something similar happened. The empathy and words of encouragement were appreciated! The process was very easy and allowed for me to be stress free while all of my paperwork was filled out. I had a negative experience at a former employer where they did not understand my states laws around leave so I went into this originally stressed out I would have to fight to get my leave like last time. I was so happy to learn they did everything to ensure I had the leave structure I wanted and legally expected! **What do you dislike about Sparrow?** The only negative I ran into is that my leave specialist changed multiple times. It was great! **What do you dislike about Sparrow?** There are some things that require your personal attention during the leave process, so it's impossible for Sparrow to fully take it off of your hands. It can be hard, sometimes, to come up to speed on what has been done so far when those moments happen; creating more work for you to investigate because you were not involved up to that point. **What problems is Sparrow solving and how is that benefiting you?** The time consuming nature of engaging with both government agencies and internal HR to go on parental leave. There's so many components and confusing elements to taking leave that would have been very challenging to navigate by myself. We have a dedicated leave specialist team who render top-tier concierge services from employee intake, filing all necessary state and private disability insurance claims, coordinating with medial proivders, etc... The implementation process was very straight-forward and only took 4-5 weeks from the initial conversation to our first employee leave.
