What is Sophos Endpoint, and what problem is it built to solve?

Sophos provides IT security and data protection for businesses. The company began with encryption and antivirus products in the 1980s.

What company sizes and industries is Sophos Endpoint the best fit for?

Sophos Endpoint shows a strong fit across mid-market, small-business, and enterprise organizations, with users represented in several industries. The most visible segments include:
  • Company size — Mid-market: Organizations with 51–1,000 employees are especially well represented.
  • Company size — Small business: Teams with 50 or fewer employees also appear frequently.
  • Company size — Enterprise: Organizations with more than 1,000 employees use it as well.
  • Industry — IT and security: Information technology, computer and network security, and software organizations are represented.
  • Industry — Manufacturing and automotive: These sectors are recurring areas of use.
  • Industry — Education and healthcare: Education and healthcare organizations also appear among its users.

How long does it take to implement Sophos Endpoint across a team?

Sophos Endpoint is most often reported as going live in less than a month, with some implementations completed in a day or less. Longer rollouts also occur, particularly over one to three months.
Time to go live Relative frequency

3–6 months Less common
6–12 months or more than 12 months Occasionally reported

What customer support options does Sophos Endpoint provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Support is available around the clock through a live representative, along with chat and a knowledge base. The experience can be helpful and knowledgeable, especially during setup or escalation, though users also describe slow responses and inconsistent help on complex issues.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Sophos Endpoint from another tool?

Moving to Sophos Endpoint from other endpoint protection and antivirus tools is often motivated by stronger threat detection, ransomware defenses, and easier centralized management. The change can also bring cloud-based administration and tighter coordination with Sophos firewalls and other security tools; users describe deployments as smooth in some environments, while advanced policies and initial configuration can take more work. Prior tools mentioned include Kaspersky, Symantec, ESET, Trend Micro, Microsoft Defender, and other endpoint or EDR products.

What tools and platforms does Sophos Endpoint integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Sophos Endpoint offers 44 integrations. Users describe connections across Sophos security products, identity and productivity platforms, and security monitoring tools:
  • Sophos security ecosystem: Sophos Firewall, Sophos Central, and Sophos Intercept X.
  • Identity and productivity: Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Security monitoring and response: SIEM and XDR tools.
  • Other security and management tools: Zscaler, Jamf, and Lumu.
These connections can bring endpoint and firewall activity together, centralize administration, and support visibility across devices. Some users find that third-party SIEM connections need extra configuration or do not reliably forward logs.

What features or capabilities could make Sophos Endpoint even more useful?

Sophos Endpoint could be more useful with clearer reporting and less day-to-day friction for administrators. The recurring improvement areas include:
  • More flexible reporting: Add clearer, more customizable reports and dashboards with greater detail for investigations and larger environments.
  • Lower resource impact: Reduce CPU, memory, and disk usage during scans and updates, especially on older or lower-powered devices.
  • Simpler administration: Make advanced policies, settings, and exceptions easier to find and configure.
  • Stronger data-loss prevention: Expand DLP controls and make their configuration and enforcement more consistent.

How useful do Sophos Endpoint users find its AI features in everyday use?

Users find the AI-related capabilities useful for threat detection and investigation, though the day-to-day experience varies. They describe AI as helping surface suspicious activity and support threat hunting, while some say the AI tools are still immature or that they use them only occasionally.
  • Threat detection and prevention: AI and deep-learning detection are described as helping identify malware and suspicious behavior.
  • Investigation and threat hunting: Users describe using AI-related analysis to investigate alerts and examine threats.

Is Sophos Endpoint considered safe and secure for handling data?

Sophos Endpoint gives users confidence in protecting devices against malware, ransomware, and other attacks. They describe real-time detection, blocking or quarantining threats, and isolating affected devices as useful safeguards; some also value the additional context available for investigating incidents. False positives, unclear alerts, and limitations in data-loss prevention or event visibility remain considerations for teams that need detailed investigation and data controls.

5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Endpoint?

It’s very easy to use day-to-day. The interface is intuitive, so I don’t need to spend much time hunting for settings. Deployment was smooth — new endpoints are onboarded quickly, and policies apply right away. The range of features like web filtering, ransomware protection, and device control make it feel complete without being overly complex. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Endpoint?

Customer support is generally good, but there are times when response times are slower than we’d like. Also, while integration with Sophos products is excellent, linking it with third-party tools could be easier. Some advanced features require extra training to fully utilize. I really like how easy it is to deploy and manage Sophos Endpoint from the central cloud console. The dashboard is clean, policies are straightforward to set up, and everything integrates smoothly with other Sophos products like the firewall. Threat detection and response feels reliable, and it doesn’t slow down devices, which is a big plus. The automated alerts and detailed reports also make monitoring very simple. "Sophos Endpoint is the Ultimate Security Solution."
5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Endpoint?

Sophos Endpoint Protection is easy to use and quick to implement, with a clean cloud-based console that simplifies management. It offers a strong set of features like ransomware protection, exploit prevention, and EDR, making it suitable for both small and mid-sized businesses. Customer support is generally helpful, though response times can vary. It runs quietly in the background with minimal user intervention, and while integration with other Sophos tools is seamless, third-party integrations are more limited. Overall, it’s a reliable and feature-rich solution for everyday endpoint security needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Endpoint?

One minor downside of Sophos Endpoint is that full system scans can sometimes be a bit resource-intensive, especially on older machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Advanced Protection and Easy Implementation"
4/5
What do you like best about Sophos Endpoint?

One of the things I like most about Sophos Endpoint is that it is very easy to implement, and the Sophos Central console is very easy to configure. I find many sections really intuitive, and the experience as both a reseller and a user is pleasant. Additionally, the initial configuration process is super easy with a very simple deployment to carry out, and the synchronization with the console is very easy to configure. Within the initial deployment, it is one of the tools that has worked best for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Endpoint?

Speaking of the central console, I think the login part lacks more details. Finding the logs or reports is not very intuitive, just like the dashboards. The dashboards, when dealing with threats or alerts, tend to be very confusing, both in terms of concepts and in how the dashboard is presented and how to find the information. "Advanced Protection and Centralized Management without Sacrificing Performance"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Endpoint?

What I value most about Sophos Endpoint is its ability to offer advanced protection without significantly affecting the performance of the devices. The centralized console simplifies management, provides a complete view of the environment, and enhances threat detection and response. Additionally, the policies are flexible and easy to implement across different user groups, which greatly facilitates the daily management of security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Endpoint?

Extended Detection and Response (XDR) allows for real-time threat identification, which is essential for security. The centralized console Sophos Central simplifies the management of endpoints, servers, firewalls, and mobile devices from a single place, facilitating control and management. Additionally, the low resource consumption ensures excellent performance without affecting user productivity. Automatic updates and constant improvements to the protection engine keep the environment secure without the need for manual intervention. I also highlight the ease of deployment and integration with other Sophos solutions, which contributes to a more efficient and comprehensive experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Threat Detection and Response for SecOps Teams"
5/5
What do you like best about Sophos Endpoint?

From a SecOps standpoint, what I like most about Sophos Endpoint is how much it simplifies detection, investigation, and response. The unified dashboard gives clear, actionable insights without overwhelming analysts with noise, and the integration with Sophos XDR/EDR provides deep visibility into endpoint activity. Threat cases are well-structured, making it easy to trace an attack path, assess impact, and respond quickly. Automated remediation also saves a significant amount of time malicious files are isolated, processes are terminated, and network connections are cut off before analysts even step in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Endpoint?

One drawback of Sophos Endpoint is that the management console can sometimes feel slow or laggy, especially when loading detailed reports or large device inventories. The alert noise can also be high at times some detections aren’t clearly explained, which means the SecOps team may need to spend extra time investigating false positives or low-priority events. Additionally, policy customization is powerful but not always intuitive; certain advanced settings are buried or require more steps than expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential Security Tool with Minor Performance Trade-offs"
4/5
What do you like best about Sophos Endpoint?

I really appreciate how Sophos Endpoint supports me in my HR role by safeguarding employee privacy and protecting sensitive documents, which gives me peace of mind regarding data security. The user-friendly dashboards are a significant advantage, simplifying my daily tasks and allowing seamless navigation and management of tasks without needing extensive technical expertise. Additionally, it provides robust security for remote and hybrid work environments, helping to protect employees' work devices from potential cyber threats. It's a cornerstone tool that assists in ensuring compliance and coordinates effectively with the IT department, which handles the technical aspects, making it a valuable asset for HR functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Endpoint?

I find that the software can be quite resource-intensive, as sometimes it noticeably slows down my laptops, especially those from older generations. This can be cumbersome during work. Additionally, there is limited visibility for HR users due to its technical nature, which means that I, coming from a nontechnical background, have less insight into the functions. Furthermore, troubleshooting is heavily dependent on the IT team, which can delay problem resolution for HR-related tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
