"Maximum Performance with Minimum Maintenance"

5/5

What do you like best about Snowflake?

The biggest value Snowflake provides is how it removes the 'heavy lifting' of data management. The UI (Snowsight) is incredibly intuitive features like the Performance Explorer and built-in Worksheets mean I rarely have to leave the browser to get meaningful work done.

From a Performance standpoint, the separation of compute and storage is a game-changer; I can run heavy ELT processes without ever lagging our BI dashboards. We’ve also seen a massive boost in AI/Intelligence workflows thanks to Cortex AI and Snowpark, which allow us to run LLM functions and Python logic directly on our data without the security risk of moving it to external servers.

The Integrations are seamless, particularly the Data Marketplace, which has saved us weeks of engineering time by allowing us to 'mount' third-party data instead of building custom APIs. While the Pricing model requires some oversight, the ROI is clear: we’ve replaced three legacy tools with one platform, and the Auto-budgeting features keep costs predictable. Finally, the Onboarding experience was surprisingly smooth; the documentation is so thorough that we rarely need to contact Support, but when we do, they are fast and technically sharp Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

The main challenge I would say is the consumption-based pricing model, which can lead to unpredictable costs if you aren’t extremely diligent with resource monitors and auto-suspend settings. It's very easy for a developer to accidentally leave a large warehouse running or write an unoptimized query that eats up credits faster than expected. Nothing else comes to the mind for now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest problem Snowflake solves for me is infrastructure friction. I used to spend way too much time worrying about whether a large query would crash a dashboard or if I had enough 'room' to run a heavy data load. Snowflake handles all that scaling in the background, which lets me move straight to the actual analysis.

It’s also solved the headache of data movement. Between the Marketplace and simple data sharing, I’m no longer building and fixing broken pipelines just to get external data into my environment. For me, the benefit is simple: speed. I can go from a raw dataset to a clean, usable model in a fraction of the time it used to take, simply because the platform stays out of my way and lets me work in whatever language like SQL or Python makes the most sense for the task at hand. "SQL-Agnostic, Easy to Adopt, and Packed with Capabilities"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Snowflake?

Snowflake is SQL-agnostic, so you don’t need to learn other programming languages to get started. It’s an easy ecosystem to enter and stay in. A lot of open-source tools natively support Snowflake, like dbt, Dagster, and Fivetran. Snowflake also has built-in AI features like Cortex code, which is very good to use. On top of that, there’s a wide variety of capabilities—such as API integrations, external stages, different user profiles, and security policies—and all of these can be

implemented using just SQL.

the user experience has been good with the introduction of workspaces , i am loving this new workspaces layout where i can structure and store my files in an organized way Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

I really liked snowflake as a data warehouse but there are too many features are open source tools all bundled inside snowflake , and snowflake has introduced a lot of AI features like cortex analyst which are good for UI friendly POC's but I prefer code-agnostic tools Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?

I really love snowflakes data warehousing capabilities like time travel, all data in one place , every user can have his own permissions , access controls,

It make data storage and governance so much easier while also supporting notebooks , worksheets which can cater to different kinds of people in the enviornment which they are comfortable in like a data scientist can protoype and deploy models using both SQL and python which is great Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Snowflake's solid integrations with tools like Tableau and Power BI make visualization and gaining insights a breeze. The initial setup was pretty straightforward thanks to their solid documentation and helpful team, allowing us to start loading and querying data within a day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

Honestly, one thing that can be a bit of a pain is Snowflake's cost management - it can get tricky to optimize costs, especially with complex queries or large data volumes. And sometimes, the learning curve for advanced features can be a bit steep, especially for new users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?

Snowflake streamlines our data analytics with its scalability and performance. It handles large data volumes, integrates seamlessly with tools like Tableau and Power BI, and features like automatic scaling and data sharing enhance collaboration. However, cost management can be tricky, and there's a learning curve for advanced features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient SQL and Easy Integration, But Needs Better UI"

4/5

What do you like best about Snowflake?

I appreciate Snowflake for serving as our central data repository with a secure data warehouse environment that we don't need to host internally. The SQL querying is extremely efficient, and I find the pipelines to other programs easy to set up and maintain. Additionally, I like that Snowflake is set up to automatically push and pull from other services we use to host and maintain data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The web UI is solid, making my interaction with the software pleasant. I also appreciate the handy SQL extensions that make coding a little easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

I would love more SQL extensions (like SELECT \* EXCLUDE or UNION BY NAME). Also it's frustrating when someone is running a very long-running query and causes my queries to be delayed. Basically, I wish it had all the fancy extensions that DuckDB has. For example, DuckDB lets you use dot notation to call functions (i.e., s.upper() instead of upper(s)), which is nice. Also, it would be very handy if you could somehow make temp tables local to a specific session. I sometimes would like to save something in a temp table, but then I have to move to a schema that I have write access on, which is a bit annoying. Also, it would be very neat if you could give the optimizer hints about whether or not to materialize CTEs. Occasionally it makes the wrong decision and makes queries that should be fast take forever. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Snowflake as a data warehouse for convenient analytics and to run queries on production data efficiently. It handles large queries that MySQL struggles with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"HOW SNOWFLAKE SOLVES DATA CHAOS IN HIGH-VELOCITY STAFFING FIRMS"

5/5

What do you like best about Snowflake?

Snowflake lets me share live data without copying it. I can give my clients a secure view of their contracts, hours worked, and end dates. With historical data in Snowflake, I can also run models to forecast seasonal hiring spikes for clients. Snowflake is fully managed, so there’s no indexing, no tuning, and no 2 a.m. crashes right before payroll. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

To really use it, you need some SQL or Tableau skills; once you have them, it’s genuinely helpful for working with messy data. I haven’t experienced any problems while using it so far. I highly recommend it 💯 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Snowflake solving and how is that benefiting you?

Snowflake separates storage from compute, so five recruiters can run big searches at the same time without it crashing. It also gives clients a live view limited to their own contracts and roles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
