"Highly effective as a personal writing aid"
What do you like best about Smultron?

I now use Smultron as my primary text editor for personal projects. The look and feel of the program is fresh, uncluttered, and slimmed-down for intensive writing sessions and finding files by color coding makes them easy to locate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smultron?

There’s no options for working with others on a document and no way to control the number of versions of the document which makes it a bad tool when there are to be a few people working on a single text. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Automatic line numbering improve code readability and maintainability"
What do you like best about Smultron?

I use Smultron for my personal coding projects since the text editor has an excellent feature of syntax highlighting for several languages, and the line numbering also occurs automatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smultron?

It does not have features like edit in-place or code revision control to allow featuring of a project from multiple developers. It means I have to use one tool for tracking multiple code versions and another for communication with my peers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"gem for anyone who values attention"
What do you like best about Smultron?

Smultron has an elegant layout and does not have any additional programs or options that will interfere with coding. There are no flashy toolbars, or bothersome widgets; just lots of space to write my code and get it right. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smultron?

Smultron does not have some of the functionalities of heavier IDEs as seen in the comparison made above. For instance, code full completion and the tools for debugging must be also mentioned as a plus for working on large scale applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Text Editor that can fit almost all of your needs into one"
What do you like best about Smultron?

One main thing that I like about this text editor is the ability to transform text quickly and easily. The interface is simple enough to accomplish any tasks that I have and to complete the process that I am working towards. Often text editors are either functional or good-looking, however, Smultron breaks the barrier in having both a beautified interface that isn't awful to look at for hours on end, while still keeping all the functionality that of which is to be desired. While I am used to my more simplistic editors having a free version, Smultron at $7.99 is still not a bad deal. It is well worth your time to at least try out the software if not buy it in the long term. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smultron?

This may just be my computer, but sometimes on the bootup process for Smultron it can be surprisingly slow. I have gotten to the point where I just leave it open so that whenever I go back to using it, it is just a quick file open instead of waiting for the program to load up and then opening the file. While this seems to be the case, my computer has issues with the speed with most other text editors so I cannot fully blame the software in this instance. Overall, there are not many other dislikes I can present here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for editing code - links up with Cyberduck"
What do you like best about Smultron?

Ease of use - interface is very clean. I like how it syncs with Cyberduck and separates lines of code with color. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smultron?

The interface is clean, but definitely outdated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
