  ### 4. Managed Scheduler & Backup Plans offered by Skeddly for our Enterprise AWS Platform are Exceptional

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meghna S. | Cloud Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Skeddly?**

Skeddly is an excellent cloud management tool for various cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure & GCP providing solutions to handle virtual instances scheduler and backup automation. Its schedule actions can depend on our necessities whether we want to execute them once or we would want to execute them periodically on an hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly basis. We don't have to provide our Amazon master access key in Skeddly. Instead, we simply provide an IAM role that is specific to our use case to Skeddly so that it can access our AWS resources and perform scheduled executions.

**What do you dislike about Skeddly?**

Skeddly sends notifications via email subscription whenever an executive action is performed in our AWS platform. We can also customize this feature by changing the preferences to receive nails in the event of error occurrence. We can also enable MFA to receive OTP via mobile or Google Authenticator to secure access privileges. Skeddly also has its own IAM policy generation useful to generate custom IAM policies that satisfy our action items for our client environment. Overall, I'm satisfied with the backup provisioning and reliability offered by Skeddly.

**What problems is Skeddly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We automate the process of starting & stopping various AWS resources such as EC2, RDS, and Redshift clusters for optimizing its usage and reducing cost. Its UI offers convenience to provision scheduler through drag & drop features without any scripting requirements. We can also schedule backup on a regulatory basis for multiple regions and for various AWS accounts in a single platform given by Skeddly. We can also define the lifecycle policies of these backups so that they can be automatically deleted through its deletion scheme feature. Reliability can be improved further by including a secondary region for our production infrastructure to add snapshot retentions.

  ### 5. Good AWS backup scheduler and automators

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Skeddly?**

Simple, ease to use. Great at scheduling snapshots/restarts of Amazon AWS instances or automating other changes in AWS.

**What do you dislike about Skeddly?**

Nothing to add here, I haven't come across any real detriments.

**What problems is Skeddly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling snapshots/restarts of Amazon AWS instances or automating other changes in AWS. Backing up Route 53 data. Moving instances or AMI's between zones.

  ### 6. The best software to automate processes.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George D. | Cloud Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Skeddly?**

I really like this system, since it allows me to be able to automate each one of the management processes of my business, it also allows me to be able to replicate this process in each site where this incredible program is located. It also allows me to save time and have the operating process with a minimum of staff.

I can also say that the technical support team is incredible and very professional, as they are always aware of any new developments that may occur with the system and can resolve them in the shortest possible time.

**What do you dislike about Skeddly?**

At the beginning, when I started using this system, I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of functions, it has, but with the help of the technical support team I was able to learn how to use it in the fastest and most accurate way. So I have no complaints about the moments of this system.

**Recommendations to others considering Skeddly:**

Definitely this system is of great help and should be used by most companies, so I recommend it with your eyes closed.

**What problems is Skeddly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to this system I have been able to save time and money, since it has allowed me to automate many processes and take it to my other branches within the country. I have also managed to optimize the management time of each department by keeping them at a low cost in their operations. In case of questions or doubts it has been of great benefit for my team to have the services of the technical support team.

I also really like your encryption system, which is one of the most powerful I have seen and which are able to rid me of any hacker attacks. Anyway, I have a long list that would not give me the space.

  ### 7. Super easy cloud automation - 100% reliability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phil A. | Director, DevOps, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2018

**What do you like best about Skeddly?**

I could have written scripts to do a bunch of the things that I have skeddly do for me...such as snapshot instances, auto-generate ami's on a schedule etc... but at their ridiculously low prices, why spend the time? I've been using skeddly daily for going on 3 years and have had zero problems with it!

**What do you dislike about Skeddly?**

The UI can be a bit confusing but definitely not a show stopper.

**Recommendations to others considering Skeddly:**

Definitely check it out instead of rolling your own scripts and scheduling and monitoring that yourself. They charge like 10 or 15 cents an action and some are free.

**What problems is Skeddly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduled snapshots and AMI generation. Can optionally have it shut down the target instance and bring it back up when done.
