Our partners have been crucial in helping us think of innovative ways, adjusting the SQL logic to do so for niche segments. **What do you dislike about Simon AI?** While our Simon partners are always ready to help, I feel that the available filters we have are occasionally limited, requiring us to rely on Simon to build them out and us to QA against Looker. It would be helpful if there was a way to link the filters we utilize in Looker to our Simon filters. Not sure how feasible this is. **Recommendations to others considering Simon AI:** Nothing to add here. Watching their product evolve and improve over the years has been remarkable and the amount of features they've road mapped or built specifically at our request is unusual and remarkable. We moved from Klaviyo to a Simon/Sendgrid stack (at the time it was the only ESP they integrated with, but they work with Klaviyo, and most others now) and the power really comes from the simple fact that Simon sits on top of our Redshift warehouse and has access to ALL of our data, not just shopify data, or on-site behavior-based data. We can join data across returns, reviews, NPS, custom surveys, marketing sources, as well as purchase and on-site behavior to drive very specific marketing automation flows to email, SMS, and more. One feature they built for us was the ability to tag people in Shopify as they come in and out of segments, which allows us to do robust server-side personalization for users who are logged in, as well as run specific promos for promotions like anniversary or birthday without having to worry about codes leaking or using unique codes. On top of all of this, from the founders on down, everyone at Simon has been an absolute joy to work with. They have better customer service than any other SaaS provider I've ever worked with. **What do you dislike about Simon AI?** At this point, the product is pretty all-encompassing for us. But the system is very limited. There are lots of things we can't do easily on Simon. **Recommendations to others considering Simon AI:** Simon Data has helped us segment our users to help us target them on various platforms, both internal like email and external like Facebook and Google. The segmenting opportunities seem limitless. Customer view is customizable and makes it easy for an at-a-glance reference for a customer. Adding events for reporting (such as signups or registrations) is also relatively easy. User interface is very responsive. **What do you dislike about Simon AI?** Having multiple database types on the back end makes customizing data sets challenging. The lack of a built-in sandbox-type feature also makes it a little more challenging when you're trying to build complex joins between the different elements. One missing feature that we lost when we moved to Simon was a form builder within the application. It's always easier to build a form with all of the embedded fields/code you need within a product, instead of having to build the form on the site and make sure you have all of the field names correct. **Recommendations to others considering Simon AI:** To truly get the most out of the platform, make sure you have a technical resource who can manage your data imports, as well as write sql. You'll need that person to be able to create and update the various datasets you'll want. It's also beneficial to have a person who's well-versed in html/javascript, as using their template builder is pretty complicated, and if you want to create forms for your site, there is no WYSIWYG editor/form builder within Simon, so you'll need to do that development on your site first. **What problems is Simon AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** We initially had issues capturing abandoned carts, as by default Simon only tracks visitors if they've physically entered their email address somewhere on the site during a session.
