I can create the time slots I need, and how many people I need for each slot, and send out the link through parent groups, school emails, etc. From there it can be shared with other groups. It doesn't take long before I have people signing up. If there are still slots open as the event approaches, I can simply resend the link. There's nothing more I need to do. ### 3. I have used this service many times over the years for various things - both personal and work-related. **What do you dislike about SignUpGenius?** There isn't much to dislike. The service is free because they show ads beside the signup. It would be nice if you could chose the type of ads it displayed, to be sure it wasn't for something that was inappropriate for your business. **What problems is SignUpGenius solving and how is that benefiting you?** You can have people sign up for various time slots or various items. You can have it send them reminders before the event for what they signed up for. You can send a email to everyone who has signed up to give them additional details. ### 6. We were unable to set booking cutoffs as needed. (for same day booking) Also had to run reports instead of seeing an on-screen display of bookings. **What problems is SignUpGenius solving and how is that benefiting you?** Booking worked fine and would be great for "days before booking" but not ideal for integrating with real-time POS behind a counter. A few simple changes (likely only requiring minor back-end coding) could have alleviated this. I suggested these options for about a year but the only updates we saw (to an IMO aging platform) were new templates. In the end, we had to "jump ship." We still have a paid account (hoping for upgrades after all the setup) but not using now. (using SimplyBook.me) ### 8. All my non-profits are small, local, and 100% Volunteer Driven. I am donating the cost to use Signup Genius. My volunteers find it difficult to use. It requires multiple screens to complete a signup. I was introduced to the site because one of my graduate professors uses it to schedule our in-class presentations. We were able to sign up using a link provided on Canvas. **What do you dislike about SignUpGenius?** I don't particularly appreciate that individuals can sign up for slots without having an account. If users do not have an account, signing up and editing their booked appointments is more complicated. When sent a link to sign up for a time slot, users should be prompted to sign up for an account before signing up for a time slot, so that they will see how to manage their appointment. **Recommendations to others considering SignUpGenius:** As a user, sign up for an account before signing up for time slots. With an account, you will be able to manage sign-ups better. With an account, all of your sign-ups will be shown on one calendar to support better organization. **What problems is SignUpGenius solving and how is that benefiting you?** We all have different schedules in our class, and instead of talking about times that work best for each of us to present or having presentations randomly assigned, this helps manage the assignment dates better. The process of setting up the times was difficult to understand, A colleague and I had to go through it together. They also do have ads featured on their page and will lightly spam your inbox once you use their service. It is incredibly easy to use and comes with loads of options -- signups can be anonymized or publicized, limits on signups can be enforced or removed, and notifications for event goers can be turned on and off. Importantly, SignUp Genius allows users to input key event information into the signup itself -- information like location (including venue name and address), leaders, and even basic instructions for the event. Its power only amplifies exponentially the greater the number of people that get involved. While applications like Doodle are best suited for voting, SignUp Genius excels in its ability to place people into different timeslots that work for them. It is less a voting platform and more a scheduling platform, and it does this incredibly well. **What do you dislike about SignUpGenius?** Overall, SignUp Genius is exceptional -- however, it loses a bit of value given its relatively inferior mobile site. On a cell phone, the site is definitely manageable, but it would almost be better suited to ditch the mobile site entirely. Often each page only contains a single event day, meaning that some signups will be dozens of pages long if enough options are available -- this becomes absolutely untenable on the phone, and thus SignUp Genius, like many other software, is best suited for the desktop experience. **Recommendations to others considering SignUpGenius:** If you are in need of event scheduling and would like to attract attendees, look no further than SignUp Genius. **What problems is SignUpGenius solving and how is that benefiting you?** SignUp Genius solves the problem of group scheduling for multiple events, and it does so with style and ease. It can be difficult to determine our conference slots and match them up with parent availability, However, SignUpGenius made this process so much easier! Slots were determined per teacher and then the parents were just able to sign up! **What do you dislike about SignUpGenius?** It takes some learning to understand how the program works. It is simple to learn to use and you can easily share sign up information with others through the website or by copying a link, which can be sent out. It also tracks sign ups for all to see so there is no double booking appointments without purposely allowing this. It also easily allows users to track schedules conferences or meetings through the site, and meeting times can be easily moved around as well on the site. **What do you dislike about SignUpGenius?** The only bad thing about SignUpGenius is that sometimes spam filters stop invites from going through to the intended recipients. This can be corrected by individually sending email links, which can be more time consuming. **Recommendations to others considering SignUpGenius:** I would recommend others use this software as it really does simplify the scheduling process. I would also recommend users practice using the program to help walk users through the process should they struggle to use it when signing up for the first time. **What problems is SignUpGenius solving and how is that benefiting you?** SignUpGenius speeds up the process of scheduling conferences. Previously counselors would have to individually Send emails and call parents to schedule conferences by hand. This program simplifies this process and makes it easier for parents to schedule conferences. Although it comes with an option to purchase a subscription to use more advanced aspects of the service, I find that the free version has plenty of helpful features to use. **What do you dislike about SignUpGenius?** I dislike how difficult it is to edit signups; particularly, when you're wanting to delete days from an event's signup. Instead of being able to just click and delete the whole day. Say I have a signup that includes all Monday through Fridays in the month of March, but I only want to include Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays; I would need to go through the site and delete each individual signup slot for that day before I could delete the entire day. Therefore, if I have ten signup slots throughout the day for Tuesday, I would need to delete all ten slots within that day manually.
