I use it as a digital loader in the film industry for offloading camera footage, and I rely on this tool nearly everyday to ensure millions of dollars of shot footage is backed up properly. **What do you dislike about ShotPut Pro?** I haven’t found anything that I don’t like about ShotPut Pro as of yet. I’ve been using this program for years in its various versions along with other like-minded software. **Recommendations to others considering ShotPut Pro:** Compare with other software to see what suits your needs best as a digital loader. I find that shotput fulfils my requirements, but I have used other programs in the past with varying amounts of success. **What problems is ShotPut Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?** I no longer (nor should you) rely on the finder file transfer to transfer large amounts of data. You can transfer data from SD cards to multiple hard drives at the same time. It creates a PDF that shows 4 key frames per video clip and does checksum verification to give you peace of mind. **What do you dislike about ShotPut Pro?** We have only been using it for a couple of months, but so far it has been great. **Recommendations to others considering ShotPut Pro:** Make sure you have a lot of data card readers if you want to transfer lots of cards at once. **What problems is ShotPut Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?** ShotPut Pro speeds up data transfers by up to 50%. As I can create different processes to transfer my videos. **What do you dislike about ShotPut Pro?** I cannot stand the initial source interface window. The source window does not allow users to sort/select their source videos by date, size, or any other attribute. I have submitted a mock-up screen of what I believe would be better than what they have. Similar to the Finder window view. **Recommendations to others considering ShotPut Pro:** Give the source media window the ability to sort the selections by file type, size, date, etc. As an HUGE bonus feature, give users the ability to upload ONLY NEW video. (Do a file comparison of source media with the target destination; if the filename, size, type are equal, grey-out the selections.) **What problems is ShotPut Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?** Speeding up the ingestion of lots of video clips to my target and backup drives simultaneously. ### 4. Decent reports. Standard in the TV industry for lower-budget projects. **What do you dislike about ShotPut Pro?** Verification times are slow compared to other offloading software using the same checksum algorithms. Lots of little bugs in the software. **What problems is ShotPut Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?** Backing up media securely and reliably is the main problem solved with ShotPut.
