## Shapr3D Reviews
  ### 1. Shapr3D does 50% of my former SolidWorks jobs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris B. | Managing Director / chief cook, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Additive modelling is very useful once mastered. It does require a slightly different approach.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

The attraction of Shapr3D is its simplicity. It would not be sensible to bloat it into a copy of SolidWorks or Catia. That said, lack of sheet metal support is a show-stopper for many of my projects.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most 3D printing jobs.

  ### 2. Super intuitive 3D software. Perfect for 3D Printing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gregor P. | Senior UX/UI Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Shapr3D can also be used on the iPad, making it perfect for use on the go or from the couch. It's very quick to get started, there are good tutorials, it's intuitive, and you can work very easily and scale. Perfect for quickly creating prototypes and generating them for 3D printing.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Projects in Shapr3D are not yet synchronized across different devices within the same account. However, as I have read, this is in the planning stages. There are a few hiccups, but nothing significant that prevents you from working productively and intuitively. I love it.

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Give it a try! It's worth it.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with the software should be easy and precise down to the millimeter - which it is. I want to implement my ideas quickly as a 3D model - preferably from wherever I feel most comfortable at the moment. Not necessarily on the work computer. That's why I'm happy that it's also available on the iPad.

  ### 3. Intuitive and Easy to Start Using

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcus T. | Graduate Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Working on an iPad with Apple Pencil 2 makes it not only easy to design, but fun! From the very start, the tutorial holds your hand until you are ready to take the training wheels off. It really is a joy to use.
I forgot to mention that education access is currently free! Incredible value.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

The only problem I've had is trying to import a 2D CAD drawing of some home blueprints. However, Shapr3D is not intended to be used in that respect, so I cannot knock points for my issue.

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Use on a 12.9" iPad Pro with Apple Pencil 2 for the best and most intuitive experience.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've never designed in 3D before. I set out to design a telescope that I could build from scratch for my university's astronomy department, and the app helped me design, quite literally, every nut and bolt.
I found myself considering aspects of design that simply do not present themselves when drawing 2D on paper.

  ### 4. 3D Design and CAD made Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ethan P. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Shapr3D is an easy way to learn and use CAD and 3D Modeling. You can do all of these tasks with one app and device. Students can also get a free subscription which is an easy process.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Shapr3D can be a load heavy app but this is generally true for all 3D Rendering apps so this app is a very good one as it works on small devices like small tablets.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shapr3D is helping us experience things in a new perspective and get our ideas on our board before finalizing the final piece and can also help make fine touches after finishing the rough parts.

  ### 5. Shaper 3-D is the best tool that I have.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keith R. | Director of special construction, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I find every aspect user-friendly. The prompts and actions are entirely intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

My only complaint was there was no text option for 3-D text. But they recently added 3d text.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For the first time I can express engineering creativiiy in a 3-D format that is fully printable/machinable or even to convey a concept in a format that is easily understood.

  ### 6. Do you remember how tedious was any other 3D?

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessandro F. | Industrial Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The fact that it's really sit to you that you can use the pencil for drawing like if it were drawing on a paper, and editing a piece doesn't mean redo the whole thing!

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

By now the price, I can't justify 200$ a year when I have rhino already paid

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me express ideas in 3D with a few sketches

  ### 7. User-centric and intuitive.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott S. | Kitchen & Furniture Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Very intuitive UI. Perfect for quickly and accurately modeling things and converting them to DWG drawings. The visualization tool is great for producing quick visuals to assist clients is gaining an understanding of the project.

Also a great tool for 3D-printing enthusiasts with plenty of export formats.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Organisation. I have 100+ 3D models currently and there is not yet a feature to arrange them, search through them, or organize them into folders. Just one of these features would make a world of difference.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shapr3D allows me to create accurate 3D models for manufacture from an ambiguous sketch that a client has approved. It's the link between concept generation and physical construction.

  ### 8. Simplistic intuitive workflow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I love the intuitive gui. Using the pencil is my favorite part. I really appreciate the speed at which to build a simple model. Low learning curve to get started.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I don't like the limited drawing options. I need more detailed dimensions. Also, model sharing from ipad to Mac is confusing. Ipad experience when editing can be buggy

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Don't expect to do complex large assemblies.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps me iterate prototype designs. 2D sketch concept to 3D. Freedom to be creative. I feel better about the efficiency of my design process but not necessarily more productive.

  ### 9. The BEST thing available on the iPad!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sebastian B. | ceo, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Easy to use, works on older devices without major issues. The support for the Pencil is simply brilliant. Previously, I worked with Blender, which is already very powerful, but not optimal for constructions. As for Fusion360, it's a very good program but also very powerful, which is not suitable for simple tasks and quick drafts.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

What I'm really missing is a direct sync between different devices. At the moment, I have to store everything in iCloud to continue working on the Mac. Unfortunately, changes are not automatically available on the iPad. An export and import have to be done again for that!

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Simple operation, good tutorial, very fast support!

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The very simple operation also allows me to quickly try out an idea. This usually happens after work on the sofa. Sometimes I create an idea that then immediately goes to print. Even during customer visits, you can quickly create and present an idea together with the customer! This is not as easy and comfortable with other programs.

  ### 10. powerful and enjoyable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sebastian C. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Although I have 50 yars of experience running a design studio, I am a newcomer to using CAD but I found Shapr3D intuitive to learn and enjoyable to use, which has enabled me to work in a much more effective way. It seems to get better and more powerful every time I use it too

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Having learned technical drawing professionally over half a century ago there is a lot to like, but many irritations such as being able to easily measure things and the difficulty in creating organic forms accurately

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it allows me to use my time much more effectively

  ### 11. Shapr3D was the first CAD program that felt intuitive from the start.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James K. | Head Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

That it started off as an iPad app. This approach helped understand CAD and designing 3D models. The Apple Pencil was the real key, because it felt like traditional drafting with a pencil and paper

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I can't say that I dislike anything. I've never been frustrated with the tools available on Shapr3D. I think my only "dislike" is maybe not having some tools available. But this software is still so new, and I'll be looking forward to the features and upgrades in the future.

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

It's so adaptable to people's workflow and design style. Stationary or mobile, mouse or pencil!

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to quickly render a model to a client within a day, sometimes hours. The UI is so simple and the tools are robust enough to do the render the way I need to, but over overwhelming where I can get into the weeds.

  ### 12. Absolutely Incredible

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zachary S. | Operations Team Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The Pencil/Finger commands on iPad......

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Exports to 3MF, won't let me open 3MF......

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

If you are new to CAD, or think that the other modeling software is bulky or outdated.. use Shapr3D.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work for IU, and on the IUPUI campus, we have a space called the Idea Garden, that allows students to experience emerging technologies, equipped with 3D printers. Shapr3D has allowed an easier integration into the realm of 3D modeling, in a way that is both intuitive and easy to use. Having not been a traditional CAD fan, (AutoDesk, SketchUp, SolidWorks), this has increased my productivity, and my ability to design models, and I can feel skills I thought I was lacking begin to improve as I use Shapr3D. The other CAD modelers just do not come anywhere close to being able to compete with Shapr3D in my honest opinion.

  ### 13. Nothing better on an iPad that I have found

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hugh C. | TBE International Space Station Lab Training Complex Team Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Once using an Apple Pencil and Shapr click... I found myself finally able to sketch/think in 3d with very low friction compared to the other CAD options I have tried (FreeCAD, Fusion 360, TinkerCAD, OnShape). I am not master of CAD, Shapr has been able to do everything I did with 360 other than animations. It is now my primary design tool for 3d printing and desktop CNC Router. More surprising it often replaces my sketch application when brainstorming ideas unless I need more organic lines (rare).

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

It takes a bit to get used to the stylus interface on the iPad. Lack of animations/joints (at least I can't find it) can be limiting fo rmore complex design studies. It is possible to define movement/rotation points to manually manipulate a single item or group, but it isn't very elegant. There is a nagging UI issue where elements will overdraw measurements. AR visualization was very hit or miss. Impressive when it works and I imagine even better with the new visualization materials. But very unpredictable how well it will identify and place the object in the space and manipulating it once it works is difficult.

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Is it AutoCAD or Inventor? No... but it can do a lot of what those programs are capable of. If you have large teams of collaborative designers it may not be a great option. But for solo or small team design work it is hard to really explain how powerful being able to draw your CAD is vs point and click with a mouse, or even one of the 3d CAD mouses.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am designing cargo/kitchen solutions for the back of my SUV and new camping trailer. Being able to have my iPad at the car/trailer while designing and measuring cirtical dimensions makes things come to gether way faster than trips to measure then back to the workstation/laptop.

  ### 14. Probably the best 3D software I've used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon C. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

It was an easy learning process. I enjoy the mobility of the product, I use my iPad Pro instead of lugging around my laptop. I have a lot of fun with it, I use it in S.T.E.M. demonstrations showing young children what's possible. We will then choose one creation and 3D print it w/o the need to transition to different software packages.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

It doesn't work well on Android, but I think that's a hardware limitation.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Design to Print, I enjoy transferring my designs straight to my 3D printer.

  ### 15. Switched to Shapr3D, won't ever go back

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew M. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

It's substantially quicker to build objects and modify their parameters (especially small tweaks like fillets and chamfers) than any other program I've used. The iPad interface is more natural and fluid than PC/mouse based modeling. Built-in visualization allows for quick generation of views for sending to clients. The workflow is much faster and more efficient than more complicated 3d modeling software we've used on computers.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Lack of a quick measuring tool; limited parameters for a shape (such as only diameter of a cylinder, no length/height); no history, so lack of undo process; limited to only one sketch per plane; lack of components (does have folders but no way to treat them as a unit, nor create joints).

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I teach students how to model in 3D. Shapr3D has reduced both the amount of time it takes students to learn to model and also how quickly they move from the basics to more advanced modeling. We also use it internally to create our own models, for repair, upgrades, and fun.

  ### 16. Excellent 3D model design app.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Detlef D. | Diplom Ingenieur (FH), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The app is easy to use. Tools are available in a way not to overload the user. The user interface is clean and crisp. There is still room for exciting functions in the future.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

The license pricing model could be more friendly for hobby makers. The file saving process could be more easy. If I finish my work on the iPad and I would like to proceed on the Mac, or the other way around, I would like to find my project in the cloud immediately.

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

The use of Shapr3D is an excellent choice if you are looking for a 3D design tool. The friendly user interface and the app handling makes it easy to design objects. The im- and export functions opens the world to share 3d objects with other modelling app's as well as slicing app's to bring them into the real world.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Beside a couple of personal projects and the design of different support parts in Shapr3D, the app gives me a good feeling to dive deeper into the world of 3d designs. It supports a learning process with is very appreciated and doesn't makes me boring quickly.

  ### 17. Efficiencies Found In Various Forms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shawn R. | Cetified 7009/7018 DeltaV Instructor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

As a long-time user of Shapr3D, I have always appreciated the ease of use within a tablet (iPad) environment. It's organic. It feels more natural to create with my hands than just a rigid CAD-style desktop interface. My original efforts included content creation in Shapr3D and then a clunky export (are exports ever easy? :). ) to 3DS Max for final texturing, coloring and lighting. With the new features for coloring and texturing plus the ease of export directly to USDZ, Shapr3D has essentially allowed me to use Shapr3D as my sole tool from beginning to end. This reduces my software needs, removes my PC-based installation (3DS Max) from the creative path and to be perfectly honest, brings back what I enjoy most about my efforts.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

It's not really a "dislike" but adding lights would be a great future upgrade. Maybe I've missed that in the current build but I think maybe even some basic 3 point lighting options or templates would be a great future tool.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The pandemic became a panic moment for many of us in the education industry. Although I work for a large company, my day-to-day efforts to educate students in a virtual environment was challenged without a means to allow students to interact in any form. Creating 3D files that I upload to Sketchfab gave students to ability to interact with hardware from any perspective. As I taught, students could rotate and engage with 3D objects. Taking 3D CAD files from original engineering efforts was a challenge where legal requirements meant I had to remove internal components and reduce complexity to ensure our engineering teams that products placed online would not be a threat to copycats/etc. Shapr3D made that process even easier than traditional CAD options. Now that colorizing/texturing is included, I can take a raw CAD file directly to Sketchfab in one step. It also eliminates conversion issues/concerns from before.

  ### 18. A great App

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jivesh K. | Well Site Supervisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The features are extremely thoughtful, especially the share feature, where you can view the design on any other device

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Haven't encountered any negatives yet, but would like an autosave incase you accidently close the drawing

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease in designing and user friendliness

  ### 19. Gives me an excuse to do all my CAD on the iPad

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt B. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Easy to use, not over-featured. Works on the iPad, works with Augmented Reality.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Not much, sometimes hard to get alignments to work as expected.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CAD on an iPad, but also available on my desktop when I need it.

  ### 20. Amazingly intuitive 3D tool for many uses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Renaud B. | Cpo, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

I love that it runs on iPad as well as Mac and that it is so easy to use! Especially for 3D print création in my case

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Not much. Still some features missing but the rate of development is fantastic. Missing some basic shapes like spheres but easy to get around

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick way to create shapes that are 3D printable

  ### 21. The most easy to use and powerful CAD App

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike W. | CEO/CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Shapr3D is available for iPad and is extremely intuitive to use. Everybody can use it for prototyping and 3D printing purpose without knowing CAD. Modeling with Apple Pencil and gestures makes so much fun. For almost every action a video-based help is integrated to aid newcomers. It supports all common data formats for the import and export of models.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

It is hard to believe that there is nothing to complain about. Of course, the price could always be cheaper 😉

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Try it for free and you will love it ❤️‍🔥

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Shapr3D for prototyping purposes. It is very easy to be used. As it runs on an iPad I can use it everywhere I like at a very low price compared to the standard CAD solutions.

  ### 22. Best app to introduce 3D modeling & CAD

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James A. | LNCOA EOD Small Group Leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

It's a very intuitive design. Know how to draw basic shapes with pen and paper? You can do the same on the iPad with a pencil! Then the conceptual leap to make 3D shapes is easily there.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

My biggest gripe is there is no auto thread feature. That's what mainly keeps me on fusion / Solidworks, so I can generate threads. This should be included and will make the system more powerful.

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Use the free version first to do all the training and familiarization, then try the subscription.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to do my own CAD work to prove our design concepts and I can't get anyone else to do this work because of the technical knowledge needed in the field I am in.

  ### 23. Very cool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Romain V. | Technician commercial, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Facility and quickly, visualization top on tablet

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

The visualization is not possible on a PC.

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Shapr3D is good for getting started in 3D, easy to use and fast to run, the possibilities are almost endless and the rendering is extremely good. This is just the beginning. The updates are constant and really significant for the most part, it is a tool for the future.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

understanding of our customers regarding the assemblies to be made and a visual of the parts that we carry out

  ### 24. Breath of fresh air, simply an outstanding piece of software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James M. | Business owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The low learning curve, the ease of use in getting used to manipulating objects within the 3-D environment, and the outstanding technical support.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Not being able to see guide points very easily. If you're trying to simply locate a midpoint between any object, or the center of the circumference of a circle, it has been quite a challenge. If there's a way to change the little purple dots to something more brighter, and slightly bigger, that would reduce the frustration substantially.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having the ability to create more complex objects a lot quicker and a lot easier. (When compared to using something like sketch up) Mobility; I'm not stuck in front of my computer for hours, I simply bring my iPad to a different room, I can watch TV, I can tinker at work, at the library, etc. This had an unintended enhancement on my creativity, I find working in different places, at different times, gives me a certain fluidity that I did not have before.

  ### 25. Game changer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Very fast iterations on concept design but then very powerful tools to finesse and lock down elements. Navigation around design space is fast and intuitive. Learning curve is no longer than any other CAD system. Fast iteration cycle of updates is well thought out and rolled out well, you have the sense of being involved in something that's moving forward quickly without leaving you behind. Beta version of Visualization promises to change the tool from more a back end to client facing tool. Integration with other model building and rendering seems in my limited experience to be smooth. Dimensioning and 2D drawing reaction are not everything an architectural designer would need but for bench drawings and for discussion purposes they work great. The software is evolving at such a deliberate pace I have to agree this is one use case where the subscription model makes sense. Pricing is where I'd expect for the standard, I don't know why peop.e think software should be deeply discounted. Not for casual user, it's a serious design tool.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

The price jump is significant when seeking to use 2D and wider export formats, but if you can't justify this expense the workarounds are easy enough. The core training videos are tedious and not always thorough or clear. But this too is evolving.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basic design of form and function, fairly detailed models to allow proper discussion with vendors for part pricing and tooling options. Creating components for design of film scenery and props to be reused in other software.

  ### 26. Probably the best app on the planet.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher M. | Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Shapr3D is an incredibly powerful and versatile tool. Yet it is so intuitive, that anyone can use it. The succinct youtube tutorials are very helpful too.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I cannot name anything I dislike. The only downside I can think of is limited surface modeling capability. It takes an extra creative person to create textures and shadows.

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

We have experience with Keynote, Fusion 360, Adobe Illustrator, Solidworks, & Photoshop. Hands down, Shapr3D is our tool of choice.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Shapr3D in multiple departments. It's used in our marketing material, garnering positive feedback from prospects and customers. It's used in our product design and production, decreasing bottlenecks in our shop. It's used in R&D, saving tens of thousands of dollars, and hundreds of hours, in prototyping and creation expense. It's used in company meetings to convey ideas including space planning, etc. It's used in our sales/quoting process, allowing better communication with customers, utilately leading to higher levels of customer satisfaction. Shapr3D has added value throughout our operation.

  ### 27. it is a very useful cad software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

shapr 2d is a cad software that is very useful and easy to use and the thing that makes it better than other cad softwares is that you could use it for free

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I'm not saying it is bad but I would say that I think shapr 3d could put more functions into their software

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was really just using it for entertainment

  ### 28. The best modeling solution- especially on ipadOS!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The well-thought-out iPad integration with the apple pencil allows navigation (with one or two fingers) while the apple pencil controls the tools, which are direct and incredibly context-sensitive.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I have found nothing to dislike yet, after 3 months of learning and using Shapr3D. If I had any suggestion, it would be that several times I have found that the context-sensitivity of the tools (which is wonderful) sometimes changes before I know it; that means sometimes I am still in an operation but the tool has jumped ahead to what it thinks will be most useful next. This kind of anticipation is great once you get through the basics and gain mastery; the trouble is that as a beginner, it is sometimes frustrating because you are lagging behind the intelligence of the software which is assuming you are an expert. So my suggestion would be to come up with a way for the context sensitivity to also be "sensitive" to the level of skill of the user: I could imagine a "Beginner Mode" where the tool would have a pop-up that lets the user know what is going on as it changes - sort of like the old "balloon help" that some windows programs used to have. At some point, you want to turn it off so it doesn't distract you, but at first it is really helpful.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, learning Shapr3D is a research project to find an iPad optimized architectural solution for printable 3-D Modeling of complex building and mechanical repair parts. Still in the "research and development" phase for me right now.

  ### 29. Easy to work with - friendly interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ioan H. | President and CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

It is quite easy to work with. Has a lot of good features found in engineering CAD software. It is quite easy to export the files to STL, for 3D printing.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Needs more tutorials. At times, the error messages are not self-explanatory.

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Take your time, to understand all features of this app.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Shapr3D to design parts which then I 3D printed. It is quite handy, in that I could work while on the road.

  ### 30. Best 3d modeling application

**Reviewed by:** Nora A. | Lecturer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The app is smooth and easy to work with

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

, its take me 10 min to shift from using the pc softwares to shapr3d.
Actually i am using it as Therapeutic technique when ever i am stressed !

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Please download it now ! You will bever feel disappointed!

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its handy so i can use it even when i am in the car or in my bed to visualize the ideas.

  ### 31. Fills the niche we needed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katarina S. | Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The fact that I can visually create what I want to render, without having to be super exact, at least until later. I use the visualization, all the modeling, and the drawings.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Unable to export different colors in 2D sketches. I have another program that I import and export from to clean up sketches, and the ability to write in a name to be exported back into the system without it being of the same "sketch" is difficult. There are workarounds at least.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I assist our manufacturing team with knowing EXACTLY how to build without having to go back and redraw the item over and over. There are less delays with things being produced incorrectly.

  ### 32. Modern take on CAD software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

Intuitive and straightforward to use, especially on 3D modeling. It feels modern and fun to use. Similar to the jump from Adobe Illustrator to Figma.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Compared to AutoCAD, I feel it still has some improvements to be made on 2D design and editing object properties. Also, the free version is not very useful due to the lack of dimensions; including them would keep the casual user engaged until a professional reason to get a subscription arises.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly prototyping things to be produced physically, with a small learning curve. Fully compatible with Apple Silicon architecture.

  ### 33. As a student, you can try the best mobile CAD program for free

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The upside to using Shapr3D is the speed I am able to model something up within the software. I use this primarily when drawing up concepts with customers onsite as well as internally to get ideas across quickly and effectively.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

The 2D side of the software is lacking customization abilities.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem Shapr3D is solving is overall efficiency in conceptual design.

  ### 35. Shapr3D is an awesome program everyone should use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noah M. | Designer

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

It is a very very good program.it has helped me through 3d printing, designing, or just getting ideas down and much much more. It is best used on an iPad with an Apple Pencil but however you use it I would recommend it to anyone. It is the simplest to learn and the best to use!

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I wish you could make more complex shapes without the middle man. for example a circle, a circle is a hard object to make because there is no way to make it. Maby kinda like tinker cad, you have pre made shapes. But unlike tinker cad it is not you're only option

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is an amazing program that has made my life better in so many ways, like 3d printing, design, or just getting ideas down and much much more.

  ### 36. This program is very intuitive and easy to learn.

This program is super easy to get your ideas out of your head and in a 3D format. It is a great reference while building your project for measurements and details.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

Nothing! the free version is good and useful but the paid version is off the charts!

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using this platform allows me to translate my ideas to my clients for approval.

  ### 37. Very useful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Enes G. | Assistant Professor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

easily to align the datum, same logic of drawing 3D as i learnt.

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

I am probably the standard member, so I believe the color function can't be that less; no database for the basic parts like screws...

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

Easy to use for someone with basic 3D concepts.

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

affordable price and it helps me to do the design myself, no need to hire another engineer to use the expensive tools but did not exactly what we want for the design.

  ### 43. The CAD software I’ve been waiting for

**What do you like best about Shapr3D?**

The ability to learn the software quickly and produce designs rapidly. Also designing with an I pencil is the way ahead for me .

**What do you dislike about Shapr3D?**

It's expensive for the non professionals. The free version is great to learn the software but limited. Also for wood workers there is no Way yet to produce cutting list for your components

**Recommendations to others considering Shapr3D:**

If you have a compatible device give it a go. I was very impressed

**What problems is Shapr3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Speeds and ease are the main benefits for me. The software runs very smoothly with almost no glitches experienced for me and I don't have the most powerful iPad. Designing on an iPad also brings the possibility of designing on the move which I think adds again to production
