What do you dislike about Secoda? I think the fact that they are so focused on delivering a great experience (and tool) to their customers sometimes leads to some niggly issues creeping in with minor updates. In that sense, I believe a key strength of theirs could also be an unintended weakness. I have seen a positive change over the last couple of months as they mature as a company (in approach, size etc.), and I have no doubt they will continue finding the sweet spot between speed and quality. In a world where the good intentions of data self-service so easily turn into data anarchy, I believe having a platform like Secoda (which our data users are actually happy to use!) helps an organisation gain some level of control again. Secoda provides tools for documenting database schemas that help us to streamline communication between engineering and data science teams. The Secoda team is iterating quickly to add features and has frequently already been building features we requested. The Secoda team is a joy to work with and is driven to support their customers. As with any new tool there are some advanced features that have not yet been added to the platform to help users understand more about the data and the range of values within a table. That said, we look forward to seeing what features the Secoda team adds in the future and how the platform evolves. Additionally, there are some subtle changes that could be made to the UI to focus more on the column documentation for a table. The documentation is used by both our engineering and data science teams to better understand the purpose of each table and column in the schema and the possible values each column may hold.
