## SecDim Reviews
 ### 1. Engaging, Developer-Focused Learning with Gamified Secure Coding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shivangi S. | Tech & Security PM, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

I appreciate how developer-focused SecDim is. I find learning much more enjoyable and engaging when it's interactive, and SecDim delivers on that. For anyone truly interested in improving their secure coding skills, the way SecDim is designed with its use of gamification makes it easy to get drawn in and stay motivated.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

Nothing as such. I don't have anything I dislike

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traditional training for the developer community often relies on boring, module-based approaches. However, in today's environment, developers are looking for hands-on, skills-based learning experiences. This makes it easier for us to communicate this unique value to both the business and its employees. By doing so, we not only fulfill compliance requirements and keep customers satisfied, but also ensure that developers are trained on industry-leading modules. Additionally, when addressing InfoSec risks, it's crucial for us to foster a cultural shift. Understanding what users value from a cultural perspective makes this change more achievable. SecDim, in particular, understands its developer audience well and supports this transition effectively.

 ### 2. Real-World AppSec Training

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin H. | Managing Director, Information Security Expert, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2025

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

SecDim is as close to the "real thing" of finding and fixing vulnerabilities in source code as possible to find on the market. I first used the platform for the DEFCON AppSec CTF, where I immediately was fascinited by the technical side of the platform: Integrating with tools we use daily, the challenges themselves are without extra fluff, direct to the point and show how hard it can be to take into account all of the possible edge cases.

We're a penetration testing firm, and we use SecDim in our Secure Coding workshops with great success. It's easy enough to set up for a 1-day-workshop and has challenges for different skill levels, allowing us to challenge seniors while not leaving juniors behind. What I love here is that each challenge exists in variants for many different frameworks –

We're even seeing activity after the trainings, which shows how good the "game loop" of SecDim is.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

The only thing I can come up is that there are no licenses tailored to our mode of use. I'd love to have licenses for a few days or weeks as well.

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For Secure Coding trainings, we want our attendees to have real-world scenarios and exercises to work with, both offensive (exploiting vulnerabilities) and defense (fixing them). As each attendee wants to fix vulnerabilities in their on technology/framework, this would mean immense overhead in developing and maintaining challenges for us. However, SecDim is easy enough to set up (both from the admin side as well as for attendees) and has an immense list of challenges, all implemented in different technologies/frameworks.

This means with SecDim we can offer the exact challenges we want, in all the technologies our attendees use, all without having to maintain infrastructure or keeping challenges up to date.

 ### 3. A application security training resource that gives software engineers real-world appsec experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kris H. | Founder and Principal Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2025

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

SecDim is very easy to use, and mimics the real-world experience of finding and fixing security vulnerabilities in source code. It is full of application security labs, each with their own repository, test cases and CI/CD pipeline. This lets software engineers, like myself, actually fix issues in a way that is very similar to how we would do it at our workplace. You can experiment, see what works, what doesn't, and think more deeply about what the vulnerability is and the various ways to fix it.

They also have personal memberships, so that everyone whether they are software engineers, students, independent consultants, or open source maintainers can use SecDim to upskill. They even have pre-built virtual machines that you can connect to via the web browser in case you don't want to or can't use your local system for the challenges.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

While many of the labs are inspired after real-life incidents, some of them are a tad contrived in order to allow the user to focus on the specific fix. The underlying issue that needs to be fixed is, in some cases, an architectural issue, and involves more than just fixing the logic in single function or two. There should be a description of what the static interface is that must not be changed.

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us continue to keep our defensive coding skills sharp and keep potential vulnerabilities in mind during design and implementation of our software. It also helps us with our continuous education and staying up-to-date on recent vulnerabilities and their root causes.

 ### 4. SecDim: Practical, User-Friendly, and Perfect for Continuous Skill Growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Baxter O. | Cybersecurity Architect, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

I really appreciate how SecDim produces relevant and practical content, setting realistic expectations after completing each challenge. The platform is user-friendly and feature-rich, making it easy to navigate and highly engaging.

In a fast-paced tech environment, the more you use this platform, the more exposure and skill growth engineers gain. Additionally, their knowledgeable and responsive customer support team ensures a smooth experience, especially for first-time users.

Implementation is straightforward, and the platform can be easily integrated with other systems when needed, making SecDim a valuable tool for continuous learning and capability development.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

Nothing much about what to be dislike on SecDim, some features and improvement still ongoing but current platform and services indeed meet the current industry needs.

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Programming logic and focusing on secure by design / secure build and also putting security culture in practice when developing or creating application. Not only that it also ensure everyone keep on pace with latest trend and improve application development hence improving productivity.

 ### 8. Unmatched Depth and Real-World Relevance in Secure Coding Training

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2025

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

SecDim goes beyond superficial security training the depth and realism are unmatched. Each module ties real-world vulnerability stories to hands-on developer labs, helping you truly understand why vulnerabilities occur and how to fix them.

I love how it mirrors modern development environments, so it feels like real work, not theory. The storytelling and practical exercises make complex concepts intuitive and memorable. It’s one of the few platforms that really bridges the gap between security theory and developer reality.

What stands out even more is the feedback from developers in our organisation, who’ve consistently said how much they’ve learned and how rewarding and engaging the platform is. It’s rare to see training that developers actually enjoy doing and talk positively about afterward.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

The depth of SecDim’s content means it challenges you, this isn’t a quick “check-the-box” security course. Some labs push you to think deeply and troubleshoot like a real developer, which can take time.

But that’s exactly what makes SecDim valuable: it stretches your skills and ensures the lessons truly stick. It rewards curiosity and persistence, which is what real-world secure coding is all about.

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SecDim helps bridge a long-standing gap between security awareness and practical secure coding skills. Many developers know what vulnerabilities are but struggle with why they occur and how to prevent them in real-world code.

By combining hands-on labs, real vulnerability case studies, and developer-centric workflows, SecDim turns abstract AppSec concepts into tangible, memorable learning experiences.

 ### 10. Awesome challenges

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rildo S. | Offensive and Defensive Information Security Coordinator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2025

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

SecDim offers highly practical and realistic security challenges that go beyond theoretical knowledge. What I like most is the technical depth and coding-focused approach, which forces participants to truly understand vulnerabilities at the code level. The platform is ideal for both red and blue team professionals who want to sharpen their skills through hands-on exercises. It’s also a great tool for continuous learning and team training in secure development and vulnerability analysis.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

SecDim delivers excellent technical content, but some challenges might feel a bit advanced for beginners. Adding more hints or guidance in certain exercises could help new users get started more smoothly, without taking away from the depth that makes the platform so valuable.

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SecDim helps address the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application security challenges. By offering hands-on exercises that simulate real attack and defense scenarios, it enables our team to improve secure coding practices, vulnerability identification, and incident response skills. This directly benefits our organization by strengthening our software security posture and reducing the risk of exploitable flaws in production environments.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aleš B. | Back End Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2024

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

I realy liked the Git based approach of solving challenges. Basically you can do almost everything (some tests are hidden on server side only, to make challenges harder) locally. Which made the experience much smoother.

The platform is also constantly growing, with new challenges being added regularly, ensuring that there's always fresh content to tackle. I especially appreciate that the challenges aren't tied to any single programming language, allowing you to dive in no matter your preferred language.

The support team is equally impressive. I recall instances where I received assistance with a task almost immediately, even before I thought of submitting a ticket! This shows how actively they monitor platform performance and ensure users have a smooth experience.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

Nothing really. I just wish I had more free time to check out all of the challenges.

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2024

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

I'm always looking for ways to upskill my engineering teams on security practices so everyone is actively looking for vulnerabilities. It's become so critical and can't just be left to security specialists.

SecDim covers the key vulnerabilities you should be looking out for and after using it I found it great fun as well. Super simple setup, you can test everything locally and has provided a great foundation for starting discussions on vulnerabilities for me and my teams.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

Nothing really, it does what it says on the box and nails this niche really well.

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There's so much knowledge out there it's hard to nail down the important vulnerabilities to look out for - and then also see exactly how they work in a real environment. SecDim allows you to really understand what's going on so you get hands-on experience with these issues.

 ### 22. Excellent learning resource!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

The war game and challenge sets are highly engaging and instructive.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

I don’t have many complaints. Perhaps the only thing is that some of the challenges can take a minute to build.

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving application security problems. This is a hard problem.

 ### 23. The only real world attack and defend secure coding platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Davide C. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

We used SecDim to provide WarGame contest for developers of different backgrounds. They loved it. SecDim allows teams to learn both how to defend and attack applications. Students can learn from each other while understanding how defend their code, in a wargame style.

What I loved is the ability for developers to create security fixes and publish their code for the others to attack. Gamification with real code.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

Nothing. Support was alaways ready to answer our question. They setup our wargames in minutes and allowed us to deliver a great experience to our customers.

If you want a suggestion: organize an online or onsite wargame with the SecDim team to explore the power of this tool.

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

During our secure coding training we always want the students to engage in fun hands-on exercises. In the past we used labs that would only be used by the single stundents, without favoring interaction. Now with SecDim and their wargames we can definitely allow students to interact and learn from each other.

 ### 25. Great secure coding training for developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2024

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

There is a growing market of platforms for secure code training, but they are too focused on just a digital platform, rather than human connection in teaching, and working with your company to understand where your developers security weaknesses are.
Secdim provides trainers to really help teach your developers about security weaknesses, the platform then helps to drive that home.
The training is up-to-date and uses novel approaches like wargaming to get engagement and participation. All our developers have had a very positive outcome from using secdim.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

Ensure that you incorporate the human training element when using secdim as this really helps drive behaviour change.

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ensuring developers understand the cyber risks present in their fields, and how to securely code to prevent as many of these risk from being introduced as possible.

 ### 26. SecDim’s git-based secure code learning is a genius idea

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2024

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

Git based secure code learning is a genius approach that SecDim has taken to engage developers in secure coding. SecDim has used the most popular medium that is used by almost every developer to teach security. Learning secure coding has become very implicit and aligned with developer ways of doing things. By debugging SecDim apps, I saw how our developers quickly learned, and applied their learning to find and fix security vulnerabilities in code and design of the apps. No text or video tutorial can educate secure coding this effectively to your developers.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

SecDim could show how to customise the secure coding challenge using their open source SDK. This will make the content very relevant to your real recurring security issues.

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used SecDim for teaching secure coding in a way that fits right into developersdaily work.Everyone is using git, this hands on approachhelped our developers quickly test out the challenges and fix vulnerabilities in real code.

Thing is, if your company is serious about software security, knowhow needs to come from somewhere. The best way is by internal growth, but even for that ,one requires a constant reminder how good he/she is and some sort of a benchmark.

So, benchmarking and also just very profound practical knowlede is what one gets from SecDim.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

**What do you like best about SecDim?**

We worked with SecDim to offer coding challenges to CTF player during a major Cybersecurity Conference. The team of SecDim is clearly knowledgeable and they offer challenges to are inspired by real issues forcing player to realise potential impact and learn how to fix / avoid making similar mistakes. The hold the hill type of challenge is an opportunity to have groups of players competing to offer fail-proof code that will be challenged constantly for a week (in our case). The platform is clearly robust and user friendly. Highly recommend giving a try.

**What do you dislike about SecDim?**

Nothing at this stage. Over the last 2 years, we never experience any issue.

**What problems is SecDim solving and how is that benefiting you?**
