"Supported UnixWare 713 & 714 Before the IBM Debacle that led to the demise of SCO"
What do you like best about SCO UnixWare 7?

The flexibility of UnixWare was one of its primary features. Released in 1999, it brought together technologies from SCO System 5 and NetWare Technologies from Novell. The UnixWare 713 was supposed to be the flagship operating system when it was first released. Along with the release, course material was also released with the product for support technicians, developers, engineers, system administrators, and a study guide for ACE certification. I still have the complete Education materials System Administration 1 & 2 and the Networking Administration guide. Installation of the product is quick and well-documented. It was also backward-compatible in that many different installation options were available. As the last Support Manager before the shutdown of SCO, 24x7 support was available for all releases of UnixWare. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SCO UnixWare 7?

There was not much to dislike about the product and how it was released. The product was initially well-received. However, integration issues with other Unix variants and Linux have already been established and used in major companies in their server and enterprise environments. "Proven stability and scalability"
What do you like best about SCO UnixWare 7?

What I liked the most was its ability to handle multiple processors for our infrastructure which required high availability. We have designed and built an application for inventory management with an integrated database and real-time time-tracking in less than a week due to the amount of support and documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SCO UnixWare 7?

So far nothing. It may have room for improvement in adding more components for built-in payment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid True Unix for the Enterprise"
What do you like best about SCO UnixWare 7?

I found this to be the most true Unix OS that I have dealt with. I don't have to worry about special commands that are specific to the version (like with Solaris and the like). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SCO UnixWare 7?

A lack ofsoftware designed for it. Many times boutique software is designed for specific unix variants and it can be frustrating when such software is desired. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good Compatibility. Unixware 7 runs on virtually any VM"
What do you like best about SCO UnixWare 7?

The wide range of support virtual machines is greatly appreceiated. Unixware 7 can even be installed on older Qualcomm boards without having to worry about driver incompatibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SCO UnixWare 7?

The UI during setup is plain and text-based instead of a GUI. GRUB menu can be simplified for easier setup. Overall i think the UI can be modernized to make it more user friendly for first time users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Powerful Trend in Technology!"
What do you like best about SCO UnixWare 7?

As a computer systems analyst, I can fully appreciate the design, innovation, and technology behind this software. This software is highly revolutionary and literally, changes the way users apply it in the different aspects of their work.

I specifically like the fact that IBM has taken a leap in designing the operating system with everything in place.

One can find the area for systems compatibility

The area for compatible drivers with the OS

And the OS is flexible because it comes in CD-ROM as well bootable USB installation formats Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SCO UnixWare 7?

The operating system is good, but it is not so easy to download and not so easy to install.

From my perspective, an average user cannot handle this operating system. It is too well advanced, making it challenging to use for average users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
