Never had to worry about quotas either. - Easy to scale up and down - Choices in each individual components (full freedom to choose amount of CPU, ram and HDD and pay for only that) - Amazingly easy to get started with a simple load balancer type setup or a job queue setup. - Support is great, a slack channel with direct help from team to brainstorm issues. **What do you dislike about Salad Container Engine (SCE)?** - Machines die often, so you need more machines provisioned than what you might actually need. - Takes some time for a machine to come up. - Want more circuit breaker kind of stuff. - Maybe some non consumer GPUs too? **What problems is Salad Container Engine (SCE) solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main reason to use Salad is costs, 2nd main reason is abundance of machines. Both of these were problems that we ran into with other providers. Salad provides lot of machines for a fraction of the cost. ### 2. Not only do they have the most affordable rates, but a very reliable network backed by an intuitive and professionally built front-end, can't ask for much more than that. Customer service / account management is great. They can take crypto payments and are happy to partner with new startups in the AI space. Long live salad.com **What do you dislike about Salad Container Engine (SCE)?** The only downside is that they don't support persisting Docker Volumes between worker sessions or offer a way to dedicate worker nodes more long term to your project (a pool of reserved instances that can have your assets pre-cached, persist runtime downloaded data between re-allocations, etc). This is a big deal if you have significant 24/7 demand for worker nodes with significant 100-300gb model caches like we do, but I hear things are in the works. At their price and reliability we work around that. **What problems is Salad Container Engine (SCE) solving and how is that benefiting you?** Allows us to scale the number of Nvidia 4090 based AI image gen inference nodes we need up with demand, easy enough for our decentralized user base to run on our network as well. ### 3. Using salad has reduced our costs by a huge factor. Also given we are a lean team, salad is intuitive enough for us to manage it on our own without a dedicated Devops engineer.
