The added benefit of 1:1 training via Zoom is fantastic, and the low monthly cost makes this system very affordable. **What do you dislike about RoomSketcher?** The main area where I think RoomSketcher could improve is by letting designers upload actual products we’ve found—for example, a couch from Crate and Barrel or a mirror from Wayfair. It would also help to have a dedicated Mood Boards section where we can gather and present the real materials and items we’re planning to purchase. I understand that the materials you currently provide are essentially placeholders meant to communicate a concept to the client, but some clients can’t see past those stand-ins and have trouble visualizing the final result. **What problems is RoomSketcher solving and how is that benefiting you?** Time! This program lets me upload a PDF of a CAD file, make a couple of tweaks, and then quickly produce a finished 2D or 3D floor plan that I can easily send to my client within 24 hours. In my experience, having tried similar products such as Architect Plan 7 and AutoCad, I find that as a non-technical person RoomSketcher is simple and uncomplicated to use and navigate; it does what it says on the tin. I was able to generate a floor plan for a client quite easily and without too much trouble, and when I was unsure about anything I used the training videos, which are excellent. I also had a 30-minute free session with a member of the RoomSketch team, who was very helpful in answering a few questions I had, and I learned that I could request a similar session at any time. While the other products I tried have their place, I wanted something straightforward that meets my needs for uncomplicated floor plans and 3D images to meet client needs. The fact that this is an online product there was no complicated instructions for its implementation. I simply signed up for an account and now use it every day as part of my work. **What do you dislike about RoomSketcher?** There are a few things that RoomSketcher doesn't do, but these are not shower stoppers, more small developmental matters, which I believe my trainer took a note of and if it wasn't available the trainer showed me, where applicable, a 'work around'. Examples included being able to group all the lines and room layouts together. being able to show all measurements, i.e the distances of an outside wall to the start of a window without doing this manually. The fact that you could not upload your own images of floors or wallpaper sample which would be client specific. You can however, match paint colours. **What problems is RoomSketcher solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have Dyscalculia, (number blindness) which when trying other products I struggled to use because they were particularly technical and complicated to master and or navigate. When those plans contained errors, getting them corrected could be difficult and time-consuming. I had issues with the sharing feature and the customer service team helped resolve it in about one business day. **What do you dislike about RoomSketcher?** The inability to view the 3D models on a mobile device is a definite down side. Some of the "snap in place" movement that the platform does when moving components around a model don't "snap" to where you'd actually want something, which then takes a lot more time to find a work around to place things where you actually want them. I also don't care for the credit system of sharing models. After paying the annual fee you have to pay more to be able to share models. Everyone HATES to be nickel and dimed. I have played with 3D a bit and lots more furniture can be added to make it worh while but its a good start. I found Roomsketcher to be very easy to learn and the online resources help solve most questions/issues I had. A had a couple of questions I needed help with and the Roomsketcher customer team did an excellent job resolving those questions. I use it a lot to visualize existing designs and it does a really good job of being able to do that relatively quickly. **What do you dislike about RoomSketcher?** Every tool has flat spots. The thing I dislike the most is that some of the level properties are not persistent between sessions or even switching from one level to another within a project. Minor nit but annoying. **What problems is RoomSketcher solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to visualize how a room design will look with various interior design treatments. The built in library of windows, furniture, and materials does a really good job of representing a space. I jumped right in without watching any training videos and was do more than expected. My luck ran out and I needed help so I wanted the very easy to follow tutorials and was able to produce a floorplan for a client in 20 mins. In the client's words, "You did more for free in 30mins than the £100 an hour Architect's Technical Team managed to do in a week". I opted for the Pro version - this paid for itself in a day. I managed to land a client for life! The customer service is excellent. I raised an issue and it was given the correct care and attention. The training sessions are free, regular, exceptionally helpful and professionally presented. Depending on your subscription level, you may have access to a personalised Software Trainer. I had the absolute pleasure of dealing with Shua Sinha. Shua was simply amazing - knowledgeable, personable with a calm/understanding demeanour. **What do you dislike about RoomSketcher?** he credits system should have been made clearer to me at the start. From my perspective, if you are paying a certain price as an SME business, then the functionality should be congruous. Often, an amended choice of materials selected for the flooring or room cladding will revert to the default choice. You can't copy furniture groupings i.e. if you have 60 sets of tables and chairs to include for a conference, you have to insert these individually. **What problems is RoomSketcher solving and how is that benefiting you?** I wanted to be able to produce professional floorplans and visualisations without the excessive functionality that most current floorplan software suffer from. RoomSketcher allowed me to produce a floorplan for a client in 20 mins. While not an AutoCAD replacement, it can do more than the basics without too much effort. A has the great ability to import an existing PDF (or jpg) floorplan with known dimensions and then trace over it to recreate your own matching floorplan. It won't "autobuild" your plan, but you can get very close with careful tracing. Remember to save often. **What do you dislike about RoomSketcher?** Two things. It is a bit "old school" with a download local software on your computer (I worked on a Windows computer) but it was nice to have it save in the cloud and then I was able to download the software on my second laptop and continue without "buying" the software again. But here is the warning. This is a pay to use. I did buy the annual plan which was mostly "reasonable" for my needs but here is the strange catch. You get a set number of "credits" that get incremented each new month. And for some specific actions, they get used for certain actions. I was not quite sure what action was going to "cost" me some of my actions, and so when I wanted to perform a new action (such as back up to a new plan) I might run out of "stored" credits and would either have to buy more or wait for the month to roll over to earn more. So I did end up having to pay for more credits than my original purchase. (Frown) They need to be more transparent of what the action costs are going to be before performing the actions. On the other hand my Frown turned to a little less unhappy, as I used my credits to have them convert an existing PDF architectural drawing into a full floor plan. After submitting, it took 24 hours, but their staff did an OUTSTANDING job transforming a complex blueprint into a great RoomSketcher file, well worth the extra 10 credits. In the end, it did cost me more (why the frown), but I was very pleased with the results, which is why I am giving them a positive score of 8. **What problems is RoomSketcher solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am a home user and looking to buy a new home. I wanted to sketch out a floor plan of a new home and see how my furniture my fit.
