The main area where I think RoomSketcher could improve is by letting designers upload actual products we’ve found—for example, a couch from Crate and Barrel or a mirror from Wayfair. It would also help to have a dedicated Mood Boards section where we can gather and present the real materials and items we’re planning to purchase. I understand that the materials you currently provide are essentially placeholders meant to communicate a concept to the client, but some clients can’t see past those stand-ins and have trouble visualizing the final result. RoomSketcher has an intuitive, clean interface, and it’s packed with powerful architectural and interior design tools. It’s surprisingly difficult to make mistakes—and when you do catch one, correcting it is quick and straightforward. There’s also a wide range of design options, supported by excellent video tutorials that make learning the tools feel painless.

The RoomSketcher staff is absolutely top-notch and genuinely enjoys talking with users. I’ve interacted with team members in both the U.S. and Norway, and they’ve been consistently responsive, helpful, and friendly.

The software becomes even more impressive when paired with Floor Sketcher, the LiDAR scanning app. Together, they’re a dream team: scan your space with your phone in Floor Sketcher, and it appears in RoomSketcher—complete with furniture already in place.

I’d like to be able to group objects more easily.

I’d also love the option to set up several alternate decoration schemes and switch between them at the push of a button.

I’ve really enjoyed using RoomSketcher for planning and visualizing spaces. It’s incredibly easy to use, even if you’re not a designer. You can quickly move walls, change flooring, swap out furniture, and experiment with different layouts without any hassle. One of the best features is the 3D view, which lets you see exactly how everything will look in a realistic way before making any real-life changes. There are a number of things I like about RoomSketcher, and I’ve already recommended it to a friend. In my experience, having tried similar products such as Architect Plan 7 and AutoCad, I find that as a non-technical person RoomSketcher is simple and uncomplicated to use and navigate; it does what it says on the tin. I was able to generate a floor plan for a client quite easily and without too much trouble, and when I was unsure about anything I used the training videos, which are excellent. I also had a 30-minute free session with a member of the RoomSketch team, who was very helpful in answering a few questions I had, and I learned that I could request a similar session at any time. While the other products I tried have their place, I wanted something straightforward that meets my needs for uncomplicated floor plans and 3D images to meet client needs. The fact that this is an online product there was no complicated instructions for its implementation. I simply signed up for an account and now use it every day as part of my work. There are a few things that RoomSketcher doesn't do, but these are not shower stoppers, more small developmental matters, which I believe my trainer took a note of and if it wasn't available the trainer showed me, where applicable, a 'work around'. Examples included

being able to group all the lines and room layouts together.

being able to show all measurements, i.e the distances of an outside wall to the start of a window without doing this manually.

Very easy to use. Drawing walls to precise measurements is excellent, especially compared with other platforms I’ve trialed. The inability to view the 3D models on a mobile device is a definite down side. Some of the "snap in place" movement that the platform does when moving components around a model don't "snap" to where you'd actually want something, which then takes a lot more time to find a work around to place things where you actually want them. I also don't care for the credit system of sharing models. After paying the annual fee you have to pay more to be able to share models. Everyone HATES to be nickel and dimed. RoomSketcher is a very good tool for creating professional layouts in 2D, 3D, and even live 360 views, and it has become extremely useful for my business. The ease of use is excellent – the interface is intuitive, and it doesn’t take long to start producing clear, accurate floor plans and visualizations. I especially appreciate how quickly I can move from an idea to a visual layout that I can share with clients, which helps me plan spaces and communicate design decisions more effectively.

I would love to see RoomSketcher continue to expand the furnishings options and add even more flexibility in how furniture and decor can be customized, so designs can better match real products and specific styles. Overall, it’s a powerful, user-friendly solution that I’m happy to recommend, and I look forward to future updates that make the furnishings library even richer. small things really, more options for interior design, windows, doors, etc to match or come close to the normal things we use in the market. I have played with 3D a bit and lots more furniture can be added to make it worh while but its a good start. Having the measuring tools available at all times so I dont have to click back and forth all the time. the ability to maybe upload plans and it adapt to scale so we can rearrange a floor plan. I like the simple layout of the work space. It is find the tools and swap over through the pages which makes it easy to work fast.

Sometimes I find I need to click on things two or three times before it registers. ie to change from internal to external walls or to the arrow tool etc

I wish customising colours was a simpler process

A great multi platform tool with simple UI. No matter on Samsung Dex or normal Windows desktop it helps create electrical plans, floorplans or 3D layouts in less than an hour. Loving the introductory emails about how to start using the app better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish I could lay my original paper floorplan underneath the RoomSketcher floorplan. The app also likes to intelligently snap angles to grid, which sometimes you need to change very slowly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
