The Physical Schema specified how data was physically deployed on hardware. The Conceptual Schema was a logical view of the data from a business perspective. The External Schema was specification of views of the data as seen by the Users. Thus each schema could be autonomous and interact with the others in a systematic, structured, and flexible manner. They could be changed reasonably independently while taking care to maintain the interfaces and interoperability stable. **What do you dislike about Rocket Uniface?** I cannot think of anything to dislike. Its an excellent product. **Recommendations to others considering Rocket Uniface:** Its a robust, state-of-the-art pioneer and has great technical merit. With good management support, a good support infrastructure and interface with Uniface Inc., any transition to the platform can be a smooth operation. Productivity and elegant architecture will be a matter of course. **What problems is Rocket Uniface solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had other pure Engineering and design software applications. Such applications had a massive need for databases of Engineering specifications, parts, processes, quality checks and approvals, and work-phase tracking of many design and fabrication projects. Many of these were ad-hoc designs when it came to software architectures. Not well-organized and thus prone to constant re-doing, re-coding, legacy code baggage, and what is nowadays called technical debt. Disparate systems and platforms that had to be manned by teams of specialists on those platforms. ### 2. UI development becomes easy with the Forms feature and drag and drop functionality. The table details and relationship are also inherited, which result in easy designing of UI. 2. The availability of triggers at various levels makes it easy to put validations at various levels - form, fields, and table level. 3. Platform independent development and deployment. 4. Migration from one database to another becomes easy. 5. Intensive debugging facility. 6. Features of service and reporting are good. **What do you dislike about Rocket Uniface?** 1. Help provided on features makes it challenging to learn. 2. Sometimes, troubleshooting becomes difficult. 3. Support from the product company. 4. The heart of any application, is its data dictionaries, managing schemas, made of tables and its relationships along delete constraints (Cascade or Restricted or Nullify) irrespective of backend database. It can be any for that matter. This makes it easy to connect to legacy data and modernize apps to meet today's technology needs to operate using mobile devices. 2. Forms can be containers and easily developed by dragging and dropping tables. It brings its relations and thus master-detail form development is a child's play. 3. There are triggers - events at form, tables, and field-level for layouts, syntaxes, no of records, and a lot more. This makes it easy to bring validations, checks, easily. 4. We can migrate from Oracle to SQL to Another data easily 5. UI is simple but can be made responses, and latest using any standard templates. 6. It is one of the best development, deployment platform on this earth. **What do you dislike about Rocket Uniface?** The way Uniface is marketed today and or sold licenses through dealer or distributor network. It is one of the best development, deployment platform on this earth but how many knows it? **What problems is Rocket Uniface solving and how is that benefiting you?** In early 2000, we have developed many client-server and web-based applications for Canadian Borden Forces, Techdata Florida for legacy migration, KMart for solving their EAI needs, and a lot more, and recently Point of Sales applications on mobile devices in Uniface 10. ### 4. Everything is in built. We get all the help from help file. There is not much documentation on Google but the help file is available that serves all the purpose. **What do you dislike about Rocket Uniface?** More learning tutorial online for someone new will increase People with uniface knowledge. **What problems is Rocket Uniface solving and how is that benefiting you?** Connecting uniface with other technologies is bit difficult for someone new.
