I would like to import or edit schedules like Excel sheets. This would bring automation to my task. I have to use the schedule to get total cubic yards of each component, like foundations and vaults, and calculate these in a separate spreadsheet. Revit doesn't work well for designing organic or very fluid geometry. It's really difficult to manage very fluid or curved geometries during the concept phase in Revit. I like that I can create walls with various components and quantify square footages with Revit. It allows me to coordinate structures and work with consultants to create a great product. I can play with wall system thickness and apply what's new, giving clients options based on their budget. Additionally, I can quantify square footages for materials and areas, which is really helpful. I've created my own families with my own parameters and schedules, and everything works fine. I use Revit in conjunction with the Veras plugin for rendering and DiRoots for custom schedules, making it a versatile tool. I've been using Revit since 2010 and haven't looked back after switching from AutoCAD. some tools could be more optimized, like phase mapping, non custon filters principally when we are talking about links and collaboraritive models and adjusting their graphic setting inside your model for documentations. Example HVAC systems overlap custom filters for the links models and its a hard work to adjust this in the drawings setting custom filters. Also annotative symbols from linked models outlets are awfully its always so hard to utilize them in an rchiecture sheet for example so you have a hard work hiding them or asking the electrical team to adjust families.... those kind of things Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I appreciate how Revit links to systems beyond just the assembly. I like the integrated approach. From a very practical production standpoint, being able to globally manage key terms, keynotes, and things like title blocks, drawing scales, and fonts is tremendously helpful. I also value the ability to use sectioning where I can have live views that see inside an assembly as it changes, with its components at the scale I need and then duplicate those views on different sheets. I think the interface has too much going on. It's too busy. Getting used to so many, many icons, toolbars, windows, panels, and dialogues was obviously just something that had to be accepted at first, making the leap to parametric design in the early days, but it was not easy. In today's graphic interface environment, I think Revit should be simplified to keep current with user interface expectations. I really like Revit for several reasons. First, it's a great system for MEP, electrical, and metallic structure projects, and the native integration with Inventor greatly facilitates multidisciplinary engineering projects in data centers. I find the integration of electrical, HVAC, and metallic structure disciplines very interesting. Additionally, Revit offers me market diversification for data centers and is easy to use. Another thing I appreciate is the compatibility with Navisworks. And when we started using Revit, the initial setup was super smooth, the learning was simple, and we had great user acceptance. I really appreciate how fast Revit is, keeping the documentation seamless. The interface is another thing I like, and it's great that it's considered the industry standard. The stairs tool is frustrating and doesn't work well. I also wish that graphic overrides were easier with linked models. For the stairs, even though power users might get it, new users really struggle to understand it. As for the linked models graphic overrides, it would be great if it functioned more like other graphic overrides instead of being buried in a series of dialog boxes.
