"Retool Speeds Up Building Internal Tools and Dashboards"
5/5
What do you like best about Retool?

What I like most about Retool is how quickly it lets you build internal tools and operational dashboards.

It cuts out a huge amount of boilerplate work—especially for admin panels, workflows, and integrations—so engineering teams can spend more time on business logic rather than rebuilding internal UIs from scratch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

One downside is that as applications grow, Retool apps can become harder to maintain and keep organized.

When complex logic is spread across queries, components, and transformers, it can get messy over time, especially with larger teams working in the same app. Performance can also become a concern as apps get heavier, and debugging isn’t always as clear or straightforward as it would be in a traditional codebase. "Retool Speeds Up Building Powerful Internal Tools with Minimal Code"
5/5
What do you like best about Retool?

What I like most about Retool is how quickly it enables teams to build powerful internal tools with minimal code. The drag-and-drop interface, extensive library of UI components, and ability to connect to databases, APIs, and third-party services make development much faster. JavaScript support and customizable workflows also provide the flexibility needed for more advanced use cases, without sacrificing ease of use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

It is highly capable, but some advanced features have a learning curve, especially for users with limited technical experience. As complex applications grow, they can become difficult to manage, and certain enterprise features are only available on higher tiers. Performance may also vary depending on the complexity of the app and the connected data sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential Low Code Tool with Versatile Connections"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Retool?

I like how practical Retool is for making connections (resources) and the preloaded components. It allows me to create low-code apps quickly, which are visually appealing and connect with various platforms. I enjoy how with a basic panel, our agents can interact with tools like Intercom, Zapier, Linear without needing to give them full access. The preloaded components are a great advantage, as I can create tools in minutes without having to code each element, like a graph or table. Additionally, I find the platform quite intuitive, which allowed us a simple initial setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

Some connections with APIs are still not so up-to-date, which means that sometimes I have to do it externally. Also, the memory limit for libraries that can be downloaded from an app, if it were higher, would be perfect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Dashboard Creation with Retool"
5/5
What do you like best about Retool?

I appreciate Retool because it allows me to create administrative dashboards quickly and clearly. It offers up-to-date dashboards without needing to code or maintain anything, which simplifies my life. What I like the most is its drag-and-drop principle, which quickly brings our ideas to life by simply selecting the right components. This makes it a functional system where data is displayed correctly without any hassle. Moreover, the initial setup with the self-hosted version was super simple. What do you dislike about Retool?

The only thing I would have improved would be to add a messaging component. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple and Effective, Ideal for creating Dashboards"
5/5
What do you like best about Retool?

I use Retool to create small dashboards for finances in my company. I appreciate that Retool allows me to create charts and tables easily as well as dashboards, without needing to know how to code. This ease of use saves me time and money. The initial setup was very intuitive and simple. I would give a probability of 10 out of 10 to recommend Retool to a friend or colleague. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

When I put too many components, especially in lists, it can slow down the tool. The lists should be further optimized together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexibility and Speed for Small Tech Teams"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Retool?

I really like the speed at which we can spin up fully functioning, multiple-page apps with Retool. It's a huge benefit for us as a small startup with a very small (2 person) tech team. Additionally, I appreciate the flexibility it provides while being low code / no code, assisted by AI, which is essential for managing our internal tooling needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

Moving things around can be tricky. Would be amazing if moving the order of items in the component tree moved them in the app itself. The side windows would be great if they could be undocked and put on other windows, its hard to do any work on a smaller screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Retool Streamlines Product Uploads and Speeds Up Publishing"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Retool?

I like Retool because it streamlines the way we prepare and upload products for our online store. It makes managing product data straightforward, helps reduce errors, and speeds up the publishing process, which ultimately improves our overall efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

One downside of Retool is that it can feel limiting when you’re trying to handle more complex workflows or bulk product uploads, and it sometimes ends up requiring extra manual steps. It also depends heavily on how well everything is set up: if the underlying data structure isn’t clean, you can run into errors, slowdowns, or general inefficiencies. "Retool Streamlines Backend Product Management for Faster Launches"
5/5
What do you like best about Retool?

I like Retool because it streamlines our backend product processes and makes it easier to manage and prepare products so they’re ready for customer-facing platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

The system can feel slow when many users access it at the same time, which can delay getting products online for a large team of 500+ users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast App Building with Customization Challenges"
4/5
What do you like best about Retool?

I like that Retool is fast and quick to assemble apps. It's really easy for me to quickly create views for our customer team to use. The initial setup of Retool was also very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Retool?

The tables are so ugly, and I wish that there was more customizability there. Also, the graphs too are pretty limited in terms of customizability. I wish it was easier to add custom React components like I can with Plotly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
