**What do you like best about Red Hat Virtualization?**

Red Hat allows for an easy, standardized image to be quickly applied into our cloud environment; typically in less than an hour. This allows us to provide prompt delivery of approved, architected solutions for our user community. The users can get their applications up and running in a day versus several weeks using a standard process.

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Red Hat Virtualization?**

We use Red Hat Desktop Virtualization in an environment where we need to access both servers and desktops from a single workstation. This product allows us configure the amount of resources the virtual server or desktop receives based on the needs of those using the server/workstation.

**What do you dislike about Red Hat Virtualization?**

The configuration can be a little daunting for those new to running virtual servers, but once my team and I got a little practice of setting up the servers we became quite proficient at the creation and deployment of the servers/workstations.

**Recommendations to others considering Red Hat Virtualization:**

I highly recommend this product if you need to dynamically manage the resources available to virtual servers and workstations.

**What problems is Red Hat Virtualization solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We run multiple servers off of the same hardware, but need to keep the actual servers from interfering with each other.

  ### 9. easy, fast, open, and cost-effective Desktop Virtualization

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** 亚东 . | Software Engineer, Semiconductors, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2015

**What do you like best about Red Hat Virtualization?**

It is very simple to migrate [virtual machines] from other hypervisor platforms into REV.
In addition to the desktop virtualization, REV 2.2 introduces a number of other new features. Chief among them is the ability to import virtual machines from platforms, such as those offered by VMware, Citrix and Microsoft. To this end, REV uses the Open Virtualization Format (OVF), an open standard for virtual machine images. This is also the first release to include the V2V virtual machine conversion software, which can convert VMware or Xen virtual machines created within Red Hat Enterprise Linux into KVM virtual machines.
REV also includes a data warehouse for monitoring the performance and usage of virtual machines, the data from which can be piped into most other SQL-based business intelligence tools.

**What do you dislike about Red Hat Virtualization?**

Security and performance is a challenge for this product. the interface could be more friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering Red Hat Virtualization:**

**What do you like best about Red Hat Virtualization?**

I like the innovative idea that Red Hat came up with virtualization of the Desktops. The desktop virtualization is the complete open source solution that no vendor dependency is there. The performance is super for the windows and linux users. Due to this high performance we can be confident that it will power our virtual machine workloads. The cost is at the lower end so it affordable to everyone. The the enterprise features are present in this virtual desktop solution.

**What do you dislike about Red Hat Virtualization?**

Nothing much to dislike like the initial stages it more risky with security and storage. since we put more VMs for one host, if the host machine breaks we need to take out more VM servers outage for an application.
