It has a powerful website builder to design responsive and mobile friendly for customers. I have also one more option to choose a pre pre-built template to custom design website pages and portfolio. In RapidWeaver, as a client I don't need to generate code for browsers separately because RapidWeaver has browser compatible features. ### 2. You're looking for quick designs software for website development for macOSX, then you're making the right choice with RapidWeaver. **What problems is RapidWeaver Elements solving and how is that benefiting you?** I wasn't actually using the tool to resolve a concern. Instead, I started using it based upon the client requirement shared with my organization for creating designs for the project assigned to us. However, I was confused by the UI and its flexible adaptability to create some fantastic designs. ### 5. For a novice, RapidWeaver is point and click easy. There are excellent videos on YouTube that show you how. The raw program includes many of the powerful tools you will need. RapidWeaver is template-based which means in addition to the built-in templates (which are superb and I use myself) there are many more free or paid-for designs to fit your web design needs. In addition are Stacks, incredible and sophisticated tools that enable you to do just about anything you need in a web site. Making sites to fit phones, tablets, laptops or larger is automatic and RapidWeaver makes them for you. It is easy to add extra bits of code or HTML as well. Then, once the site is made, it is extremely rapid to upload changes or whole websites. Support from the active forum is second to none. **What do you dislike about RapidWeaver Elements?** My only gripe is that Stacks isn't part of RapidWeaver but an add-on extension. My clients would also like to make changes to their web sites, but then, they only ruin them and what am I going to earn when they do? **What problems is RapidWeaver Elements solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can make a sophisticated website in a morning, then easily make additions or amendments on the fly. Maybe 5 years later, in a newer version of RapidWeaver, I can immediately understand the site and amend or extend it. ### 10. There isn't much to dislike about RapidWeaver. There are other alternatives these days but for the Mac it's one of the nicest and best written bits of software if you want to be more in control of your site but coding isn't your strong point. **What problems is RapidWeaver Elements solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being more in control of my site and having more flexibility with the myriad of plugins available makes RapidWeaver a very enjoyable tool to use. ### 12. Have a look at some 3rd party themes as these make the end product look considerably more professional. I am currently using RW 8 to create walkaboutscotland.com. **What do you dislike about RapidWeaver Elements?** That the 3rd party plugins such as Stacks are a paid extra is irritating. The end product doesn't work well without these. **Recommendations to others considering RapidWeaver Elements:** Have a play first before going live with your main project. Use a MacBook pro or mac desktop - we use a MacBook air and the smaller screen is a bit fiddly. **What problems is RapidWeaver Elements solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our website was previously created by a 3rd party developer but we had issues when we needed edits done quickly. The solution was then to use a Joomla theme which we could edit but again there were major issues with the pages. Returning to RapidWeaver in 2017 made a massive difference although there was an initial drop in search engine rankings, this has cretics back up again. We are now making easy edits such as dates and prices with minimal fuss and new pages are implemented quickly as well. ### 13. The program looks and feels like it was created by web designers for web designers and there are features such as snippet saving and notes which really keep everything related to each project together Even if you take a break or get distracted, it's easy to pick up where you left off as the interface allows you to make notes and save templates **What do you dislike about RapidWeaver Elements?** Some upgrades have had issues at release but it's not a common occurrence It's a desktop app that only works on Mac, and although I've been a mac user since the 80s, this limits the number of designer that I can hire compared to the number available that work on Windows The idea of making it a web-based app doesn't appeal to me because then it would have to transition to a subscription model and that's one thing that I would really dislike I have come across close minded designers tend to dismiss the program too soon because of the price being so affordable and they have this perception that it's not very good because it's a desktop app that only works on Mac so they consider it a "niche" product I'm fully bilingual and although the support groups are not officially part of Rapidweaver, there doesn't seem to be as much support for Spanish speakers as there is for other languages **Recommendations to others considering RapidWeaver Elements:** If you are a beginner I would recommend that you try RapidWeaver first as they have a free trial and you have nothing to loose Professionals and intermediate users working with small businesses that don't require large teams will reap the benefits of giving RapidWeaver a try Casual users will benefit from Rapidweaver as a learning tool in addition to the many educational resources out there that are available for free If you are the type of person who doesn't want to be stuck to a subscription model this is the perfect offer for you Consider investing in some of the add ons as part of your budget as the small investment will save you time in the long run Some new users are surprised at how much money they spend on add ons but it's all about getting what you want at the price you consider fair... That said, it's too easy to get carried away collecting add ons but this is a mater of perspective Experienced designers can do as much coding from scratch as they want while beginners can do as little as possible If you feel more comfortable working with web based apps you should compare the cost of ownership vs the yearly subscription fees **What problems is RapidWeaver Elements solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to have full control of our website and a custom theme without having to subscribe to a monthly or yearly plan When I designed my first company website in 2003, I was quoted $10 000 for what I was able to do on my own in 1 month as a beginner Rapidweaver has empowered me to gain enough web design knowledge to be able to make better hiring decisions when the time comes to delegate the maintenance to a freelancer These days I use Rapidweaver to mock up new concepts quickly and I don't have to spend too much time coding to get pretty close to a page that will be ready to go live soon With the Foundation and Stacks add ons, we have managed to improve our SEO tremendously without having to hire a company on a monthly contract to update and improve our ranking on a regular basis The ability to do SEO in-house has saved us $600 per month which is the last quote I got to hire a company to do it to the degree we've managed to do ourselves by using Rapidweaver and the add ons that help with SEO Our pages look great when we shared them on social media platforms because we have full control of what the appearance of the images linked to each of the main platforms we use (Linkedin+Twitter+Facebook) We recently started developing a secure dashboard for our clients and this has allowed us to process 10 times more of the estimates we used to and this is possible without having to hire additional staff to create more estimates and submit them faster In addition to being able to turn estimates into orders faster, we also added a module to give clients updates on each one of their projects Deploying a secure log in system was a lot easier than we could have anticipated with the help of some of the ad ons that are available and easy enough for an intermediate user to deploy This secure dashboard is showing information from a Filemaker Pro database By our calculations this dashboard has saved us having to hire two people which translates to savings of $80000 per year In addition to providing live updates on each project for each individual client, the dashboard allows us to collect files from clients as part of project management and they are uploaded directly into their designated Dropbox which is then used by our Filemaker in-house system to keep all project components organized and updated This has reduced the amount of email by 60% and with every file being timestamped the possibility of mistakenly using outdated files has been greatly reduced Additionally the estimates that are now converting to invoices have increased our sales by 300% during the covid crisis and this in turn is allowing us to invest in new equipment and start planning for expansion ### 14. easy to pizzy **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Enoch F. | Content Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2021 **What do you like best about RapidWeaver Elements?** the interface is easy to understand and navigate your way around it **What do you dislike about RapidWeaver Elements?** i preferred some of the old tools in the old version **Recommendations to others considering RapidWeaver Elements:** This's an easy to use platform when you have zero of a coding background. Except you're not actually coding. It is like a predecessor to Wix and Weebly, except you download it to your computer and work on it there. I have always loved their vast choices of templates (available for purchase) and their countless add-ons. **What do you dislike about RapidWeaver Elements?** Rapidweaver is a little more advanced and at the same time simplified than most options out there today. It takes even the savviest Gen Z-er at least a couple of weeks to get the hang of it (although, they do like it), and even then, there is a lot of technicalities they need to "get". And at the same time, there is very little customization you can do without having more training/learn more. **What problems is RapidWeaver Elements solving and how is that benefiting you?** Not knowing how to code. It is my biggest regret in life that I never took computer science in college so I could know how to (not that this would have been enough to teach a philosophical mind like mine how to code). Some of the features were not detailed enough to make a clear selection. Cannot handle huge sites, testing is somewhat clumsy. You definitely will need to budget extra towards some better addons from third party developers, like 'Stacks' from Yourhead Software. Sometimes RapidWeaver has gone for long periods of time without receiving updates and bug fixes; often while Realmac (the parent company) has diverted interest into failed side projects, like online photo storage services, blogging, Mac apps and games. **Recommendations to others considering RapidWeaver Elements:** Don't go out straight away and spend a fortune on third party addons. You can save considerable time and money by asking for recommended addons on the RapidWeaver community forums. It's easy to use for those of us whom are not very tech savvy. There are few thing that RW cannot do. Forms, pictures, pluggins, websites that are simple or complex can all be designed. I also desire more online editing options. Once you have a collection of 3rd party tools on your belt you and launch unique and stunning websites in often less than a day. **What do you dislike about RapidWeaver Elements?** The biggest complaint about RapidWeaver is that to create sophisticated features for your website you are often left needing to purchase 3rd party addons. While this is true, the cost is usually low, non-residual unlike many alternatives, and allows you to make an extremely robust amount of design and functionality changes. **Recommendations to others considering RapidWeaver Elements:** Most, if not all, who purchase RapidWeaver are going to want to also own the plugin Stacks, which gives you a more drag-and-drop style of designing that allows for much more flexibility in designing your website(s). Know that you won't find as many free plugins in markets like WordPress, but that addons are really worth their price for the amount support most 3rd party developers provide in the RapidWeaver community. **What problems is RapidWeaver Elements solving and how is that benefiting you?** RapidWeaver is not my go-to tool for some website's that have more complex custom databases. Not that it can't be used for this, but that's simply not my preference for using this software. The problem RapidWeaver helps me solve is speed. In the past I would have turn down clients with a lower budget because I didn't have the time to design them a site that I'd be proud of and one that could still provide them with all the functionality they needed. RapidWeaver changes this in that I can now very quickly create a website that is fully responsive without having to mess with any code. The biggest disclaimer is that I often have to use 3rd party products to achieve everything I need, but the good thing is that once you own it you can use it on any other sites you develop. ### 29.
