## RaimaDB Reviews
 ### 1. Lightweight and High-Performing Embedded Database Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex W.

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2026

**What do you like best about RaimaDB?**

I like RaimaDB's lightweight footprint and exceptional performance because it delivers high-speed transactional persistence without the overhead of a full external database platform. This makes it ideal for our embedded, real-time integration engine, Cloverleaf. It also allows Cloverleaf to provide fast, reliable message persistence without the cost and complexity of an external database. The ease of quick recovery after failures is essential for protecting clinical data and maintaining uptime. Additionally, I appreciate the prompt and effective support whenever we've needed assistance.

**What do you dislike about RaimaDB?**

The main limitation is the surrounding ecosystem. We would benefit from more robust management utilities, backup/inspection tools, and standardized interfaces for reporting and troubleshooting.

**What problems is RaimaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RaimaDB provides dependable, transactional persistence, ensuring message integrity and quick recovery after downtime. Its lightweight and high-performance nature supports fast message processing with minimal resources, making it ideal for our real-time integration engine, Cloverleaf.

 ### 2. Real-Time Acquisition with Unmatched Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yoni R. | Staff Software Architect & Team Leader

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2026

**What do you like best about RaimaDB?**

I really appreciate the great support from RaimaDB. It performs outstandingly well, which is quite important for us. The Raima database tools and their ability to be easily embedded into custom applications are quite useful. Using RaimaDB saved us years of development effort. The setup was straightforward, thanks to their outstanding support.

**What do you dislike about RaimaDB?**

I find the limited internal retrieve API and the implementation of the 'where' clause in the internal API to be challenging.

**What problems is RaimaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use RaimaDB for real-time event acquisition with centralized storage, sharding, and a common access API. It delivers outstanding performance and great support, embedding easily into custom applications, saving us years of development effort.

 ### 3. Transparent, Reliable Technology That’s Never Let Me Down

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Urs V. | CIO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about RaimaDB?**

I value the technology because it stays so close to the data, with no “under-the-hood” mystery—just full transparency. I also appreciate the reliability: in over 30 years of using various versions of the product, I’ve never encountered a serious crash.

**What do you dislike about RaimaDB?**

This product has many levels to it. It’s fun to use at a basic, low-technical level, but these days it’s difficult to find people who have that kind of knowledge.

**What problems is RaimaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used Raima as our ERP/production database. It provided a strong combination of commercial data handling and deep technical insight into our production equipment, along with excellent performance.

 ### 4. Fast, Small Footprint, Big Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel H. | CTO & Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about RaimaDB?**

RaimaDB excels at embedded/edge use cases, blazing fast, tiny footprint, but rich in features. Built-in AES encryption, zero-admin operation, and straightforward edge-to-cloud replication stand out. Also the breadth—time-series & geospatial, in-memory mode, SQL/REST are highly appreciated!
They also provide excellent customer support to their clients!

**What do you dislike about RaimaDB?**

Most benchmarks are vendor-published; I’d like more third-party results. Replication depends on SymmetricDS (powerful but another piece to learn), and the C/C++ focus means non-C teams may start via SQL/REST.

**What problems is RaimaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RaimaDB gives me a simple, reliable way to manage on-drone data: capture and query sensor/mission logs on-device, keep them durable through power hiccups, and sync results to the cloud without custom pipelines.

 ### 5. World-Leading Performance and Stellar Support with RaimaDB

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neil L. | Senior Lecturer in Computer Science, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2025

**What do you like best about RaimaDB?**

RaimaDB is an exceptionally fast, secure and reliable database for mission critical embedded systems. Its performance is world leading, and the team behind the development, sales and support are also first class. The solution is easy to implement in our complex embedded environment, and the documentation for the database is clear and comprehensive.

**What do you dislike about RaimaDB?**

Consider adding more support for lesser used embedded OS's.

**What problems is RaimaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mission critical data storage and retrieval for complex embedded systems, in various safety critical contexts (e.g. medical, avionics). RaimaDB solves the data management problem completely in this context.

 ### 6. Very fast database, requires advanced C coding skills to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2025

**What do you like best about RaimaDB?**

Very good documentation. Very responsive support team. Clear concepts and ideas on how the whole system is built.

**What do you dislike about RaimaDB?**

There is no native JSONB like in Postgres. SQL leaves a lot to be desired, both in terms of API which are very unwieldy and in terms of rdm-sql which is annoying to use not supporting most modern terminal and input conveniences. Debugging anything is very hard as it is all bare bones C code. Though that is the bad side of raw performance.

**What problems is RaimaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are storing toolpaths data for 3D printing systems in the billions of points on desktop PCs. The sheer speed of read and write is the main use case of Raima for us.

 ### 7. RDM

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2021

**What do you like best about RaimaDB?**

Its scalability, memory size (storage space), and speed make it impeccable to use and perform well

**What do you dislike about RaimaDB?**

Cannot view the REST API with GUI view for monitoring purpose and costly product

**Recommendations to others considering RaimaDB:**

Go for it. Good performance and speed will make your tasks simpler with considerable storage space and memory

**What problems is RaimaDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving big data storage-related problems and found it to be highly advantageous with all the essential purposes and functionalities which serve more than the desired purpose. Delightful by its usage
