"Intuit/Quickbooks Predatory Pricing model"
0/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

Its highly accessible because its a website. The interface is fine, though it changes constantly which isn't always great. The reliability has been mediocre. The real problem is customer service has steadily degraded over the years. In the beginning I could call somebody when things went wrong. But over the years that has gotten really bad. The banks integrations are mostly working, the pricing is not good. I do not like the AI features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

The pricing model is predatory. Once they have your data in their system they can simply increase the price at any time. They are doing that now by 40% for Quickbooks online plus. They know that customers won't like it but they also know that the cost of migrating all the data is higher than the price increase. Once they have you locked in they will abuse that position of trust. This is a company that treats you like prey, not a customer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"QB Online Lets Me Work Anywhere, Anytime"
5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

QB online is superior to desktop, because it is easy to work from anywhere. As long you know your login info, you don't have to be stuck on a desktop in an office somewhere. This has allowed to continue working during things like car repairs and just waiting in my car for events/meetings to start. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

A couple of the downsides are that they no longer work with Melio because they have their own payment processing. I have three vendors that each month cannot be paid via QB online and I have to login to Melio separetley and process the payments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"QBO Saves Time with Powerful Automations, API, and Integrations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

The functionality is there for managing the books for small local businesses, alongside an accounting firm for year-ends, etc. When I need more functionality, I utilize the Zapier integration or the extensive API service. QBO also has a pretty broad range of third parties it integrates with natively. I end up saving time and making fewer mistakes by automating my basic tasks. Pricing has been pretty good for our usage, it comes with all we need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

The web version of QBO is the most reliable. I find the iOS/iPad versions to be buggy and slow, particularly, the bank transactions. Loading is slow, and working with the categorizing functionality is incomplete. While the interface is limited due to the size of some devices, more options could be available via menus. "An accounting tool that covers all of your clients' needs"
4.5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

It’s easy to use, and uploading documents is fast. I also like the integration with other products, and the pricing feels fair. The technical support is great, and I’m able to stay in contact with other users who can share tips. The AI summary feature is helpful as well. Also, it can quickly refine/edit your search for transactions.. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

At first, it felt like a cumbersome product. However, after some trial and error (and with a bit of assistance), it became easier to use. That said, some of the summaries I tried to pull were still troublesome.

It tends to automatically categorize charges, which can add extra time when reconciling the books. For example, a cash app transfer may be treated as an ATM withdrawal, or a wire transfer may be listed as a DRAW. We’re still working through the mislabeling of these transactions.

It may also offer to match transactions; however, if it’s an Intuit payment, the breakdown disappears. The client I was using it for didn’t have QuickBooks Payroll, so it was supposed to be an easy search to find where the funds came from (one or many sources). Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find a solution.

Going forward, I’m not going to keep syncing the statements to QB multiple times if a transaction is missing. In the future, I also won’t match transactions, since it shows as a manual transaction and ends up disrupting the flow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Access Anywhere, Reliable Performance, and a More Intuitive Interface"
4.5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I like that I am able to access it anywhere so I am not limited in dealing with the company books when I am traveling. It performs well and I rarely encounter problems - other than the integration with BigTime software - that is terrible! The interface has improved alot over the last year. It stil takes me time to find things but it is becoming more intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

The downside is the integration with BigTime Software, though that is more likely a limitation of BigTime - not QBO. The other thing is that we struggle with Northern Living Allowance on our T4's- for some reason, we don't have clear control to automatically or manually enter that data. "User-Friendly with Essential Bookkeeping Features, Needs Better Payroll Sync"
4.5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I find QuickBooks Online quite user-friendly, which really helps my clients, especially small business owners, to have their books ready every day. I like its simplicity, and the reports are very helpful as they offer insights for different analyses and decision-making. The reports also allow me to compare between periods, which is valuable. The declassification and reclassification tools, as well as the payroll tools, are quite valuable too. The initial setup was quite easy, which is why I love QuickBooks Online. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

The AI integration in QuickBooks Online seems to be lacking a lot lately. Also, it sometimes slows down the process, which can be frustrating. The payroll tool is particularly concerning. It's not good at all, mainly because of its desync issues, which I find to be really bad. If they could make the payroll tool post journal entries rather than direct deposits and allow some flexibility to edit them, that would be great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to learn, Time-Saving Integrations, and Rock-Solid Reliability"
5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

Accessibility from mobile devices, easy excel sheet upload for bulk adding bills, and the very user-friendly UI are my favorite features. Its the easiest one to train inexperienced staff on by far.

It also securely integrates with our bank feeds for real-time information, our sales channels (Shopify, Amazon, eBay) to import transactions, and as of recently even our shipping provider, so that all bills and bill payments are automatically synced. Saves me SO much time!

in 5 years I don't recall any performance problems or outages, and it runs smoothly even on my dated office PC.

The deal we got from our sales rep was great (received 50% off the first 3 years), he helped with all the setup and the silliest of questions we had from our move as we had switched to QuickBooks Online from QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, and was available for questions even many months later, when we were looking to find a new Warehouse Management Software with integration into QBO.

They constantly seem to add and update new features - recently introducing AI generated messages for invoices and reminders, making things a little more customized for our clients, rather than the generic "Hello, here's your invoice." blurb.

Excited to see what the future holds! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

One of our company files is very large because we imported 4+ years of detailed data from QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. As a result, I’m unable to open that company file from my mobile device, which prevents me from using features like importing receipts by taking a picture of them or accessing the file on the go.

It would be great if there were a lite version that still allowed access to the basic functions of the company file, even when the full file is too large to open on mobile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Features, but Many Go Unused and Disrupt Productivity"
3.5/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

It has robust features, but many go unused. I value the depth of the platform, but users shouldn't be forced into extra services or workarounds for basic tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

UI/UX: The interface is volatile. Constant, forced layout changes disrupt established workflows and require frequent relearning. It feels like change for the sake of change, not efficiency

Performance & AI: Over-engineered and often lags during manual entry. The focus on 'AI' is a distraction; I would prefer they prioritize fixing core bugs over pushing unneeded automation.

Pricing/ROI: Pricing is too high for the value. With frequent hikes and declining support quality, the ROI is diminishing. You pay a premium for a product that feels increasingly unstable..

Integrations: The platform pushes too many forced services and workarounds. Instead of a streamlined experience, it feels like an endless sales pitch for unnecessary add-ons.

Support & Onboarding: A significant lack of U.S.-based support. Tier 1 and 2 interactions are scripted and fail to address complex or recurring bugs, which often go ignored indefinitely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Bookkeeping and Tax Reporting with Real-Time Integrations and Great Support"
4/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

It's a great one stop shop to have all of the bookkeeping information and the reports that provide tax information for those businesses/clients. It keeps up with the latest updates in technology and AI software to help speed up the process for normal tasks. It also has great integration tools to take the old information they have provided and give to us in real time so we are not scrambling to find that info. They also have a dedicated support team that is willing to take your call/chat any time of the day/week. It is definitely really good value for the return we get. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

At times there can be performance issues, where if there is a data breach or any type of troubleshooting with network, it can run very slowly or sometimes not even load what I requested. It doesn't happen often, but it happens enough to be a pain-point and can stop the workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Affordable, Scalable Accounting Software That Grows with Your Business"
4/5
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

I am an accountant and a partner with QuickBooks as an advisor to access my clients who use Quickbooks.

I have been doing this for over 10 years and am well acquainted with how QuickBooks works and am very satisfied with it as it makes my life and my clients' lives easier as clients are using a good accounting software to help run thir buiness and gives them the necessary business reports they need.

The cost is lower than most other accounting software for business and can be scaled for more features only when the business needs them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

There are not many downsides. But if there is any, I would say the menu layout is not as intuitive or good as some other accounting software solutions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
