When it comes to Symantec Enterprise Vault migrations, they're very great to work with and moderately priced competitive. They go into a ton of detail to build a quote - so you know whatever quote you get is very thorough. Each migration we have done went off without a hitch. **What do you dislike about Quadrotech?** While they claim to be a partner-friendly organization, they seem like they would rather work directly with a customer vs. the partner channel. For this reason alone, we tend to prefer not to use them. From asking to only talk to the customer, to sending renewal contracts directly to a customer, all the way to only allowing a "professional services" approach to their migrations - all are anti-channel anti-partner behaviors. They have a great toolset and would be able to gain more market share if they would stand behind their partner-friendly claims. **Recommendations to others considering Quadrotech:** Fully understand the source & destination systems as it relates to the migration. This took much longer than we anticipated. There were some items that they could not move. We had to involve our Enterprise Vault support have them export those items to disk and reimport. This took a lot of time. **Recommendations to others considering Quadrotech:** Stay on top of them, and montior what they are doing. Designed engineer for this project has a huge knowledge and was always available and committed to clarify about process, act on issues and giving valuable inputs for problem solving. **What do you dislike about Quadrotech?** At the beginning of the project communication and speed was pretty fast, coming to the conclusion, I was facing sometimes delays when requiring reports and fast resolution for issues encountered. I think Quadrotech must keep same behavior from the earlier state of the project to the conclusion. **Recommendations to others considering Quadrotech:** For the purpose of migration from Exchange Onpremises to Cloud, definitly Quadrotech has the knowledge and a good solution for. Process is good, during the project itw as required some corrections and escalations, but nothing that represent a huge issue. **What problems is Quadrotech solving and how is that benefiting you?** Moving mailboxes from onpremises and journal from Enterprise Vault to O365 was of course the main challenge that Quadrotech did, but also they were able to resolve another problem which we were in a roadblock, that was restore Public Folder archives back to om premisses. ### 5. The customer had a few very specific business cases to which the Quadrotech engineers listened very closely and worked with us to solve. After the workflow was setup, creating and monitoring batches was really convenient and the team is very responsive. **What do you dislike about Quadrotech?** A very specific business case for this customer was the fact that flags returned as flagged in a mailbox when they were unflagged in the archive. We wrote a custom solution for this, but I would have been awesome if that was implemented by default (https://365bythijs.be/2020/01/13/updating-the-flag-status-of-an-exchange-email-through-powershell-ews/) **Recommendations to others considering Quadrotech:** I highly recommend looking into the managed operations team. They know the tool inside out and will be able to setup and maintain the product much better in comparison to something who is new to the product. **What problems is Quadrotech solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Archive Shuttle and their managed operations teams you have less to worry about during busy teams. They take their of the setup of the tool but also monitor the migration very closely. When there is an issue they can identify the problem really quick as they are experienced with the product. ### 7. Our migration was complex and took quite some time. I never felt that the project was in jeopardy because of the team behind the product. The engineer who actually did the migration was also exceptional. Following up and being available when my team needed him most. The product itself is also great. We migrated 8tb of mail and only experienced minor issues which ended up being all issues with the source data. **What do you dislike about Quadrotech?** I had little to dislike about the engagement. **Recommendations to others considering Quadrotech:** If you are looking to move your EV to O365; Think about engaging Quadrotech. They were able to import both the archived user data and historic journal data into O365 using the supported method. ### 8. Migration of On Prem Enterprise Vault to M365 Exchange **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Warwick B. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2020 **What do you like best about Quadrotech?** The managed service was excellent, from setup to complete, very thorough. **What do you dislike about Quadrotech?** I have no comment here, the service was excellent. **Recommendations to others considering Quadrotech:** The sales pitch was 100% true (I don't say that often), but I went back and re-read the promise that was made, and it was genuine. **What problems is Quadrotech solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had 4tb of on Prem Enterprise Vault data, that we wanted to migrate back into 180 users mailboxes, now stored in Microsoft 365 exchange cloud. We wanted a solution which will take the data for us, move back to the same location as the vault stub, and remove the stub when complete. Archive Shuttle was the product which did exactly that, and more. It was easy to install and setup, with the assistance of the consultant and at that point, our involvement was to supply a list of names which then just migrated at a good pace with no impact to our network or users. The process was invisible to our users. We only encountered one issue during the process which was archived messages which had not been read, but had a read receipt request against them, fired off Not Read read receipts as the stubs were deleted. Some of these messages were years old, which would have caused confusion, but the pilot mailboxes highlighted this and a quick transport rule stopped them going out. Not a problem. ### 9. The software is fairly hands off so all I have to perform is the backend engineering to get Exchange set up to ingest. This created a way so that Exchange did not get hammered while EV was sending data to the new in place archives. The process so far has been very easy and the reporting has shown to keep us knowledgable about what comes in and what goes out. **What do you dislike about Quadrotech?** So far I have had no issues. The support has been helpful and always on time to meetings. Sometimes I wish I had more knowledge of the web portal but honestly they take care of most of that information so I don't have to. If you are a control freak about what happens then you may not like the hand off to someone else to take care of things. **Recommendations to others considering Quadrotech:** It's a great piece of software that takes the hassle out of trying to migrate from other archiving solutions. All of our questions were answered thoroughly throughout the process, from pre-sales, to post-sale and the entire way through the project. The engineers who were assigned to our project were extremely knowledgeable, patient, and really cared about the success of our project which had several red flags we felt were important to address. They addressed each concern individually, and were there each and every time we needed to address a concern. **What do you dislike about Quadrotech?** We don't have any dislikes about our experience with Quadrotech, and that's exactly why we would recommend them time and time again. The experience was enjoyable from the first pre-sale call to our completed deployment of the product. **Recommendations to others considering Quadrotech:** Many products claim to do the same thing as Quadrotech, but Quadrotech is the only company we found that has the people and support behind the product in such a positive manner. **What problems is Quadrotech solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our PSTs were sprawled out over 1000 users in both local PC locations and strewn across multiple file servers. Quadrotech helped us inventory PSTs across ALL possible sources, and gave us insightful reporting that showed who the PSTs belonged to, size reports, and migration recommendations for each user. Once the process was started and tested, it was just a matter of time to complete the project with the help of our Quadrotech engineers. The benefit was that we were able to move all our PSTs, while not locking up all of our internal resources on this project. As we were exporting 10+ years of archive mail data from a legacy email archive system, we encountered numerous issues. Quadtrotech was able to re-code and rewrite their platform to adapt to the issues in our system. Additionally, as the project became more challenging, Quadrotech continually stepped up to solve the many problems we encountered. **What do you dislike about Quadrotech?** The biggest challenge we had was timeframe. We had an expectation for a time frame to have our email archive data exported, and Quadroech was unable to hit that mark. We relied heavily on the managed services to help facilitate the migration and internally we helped identify users and provide communications to the users. **What do you dislike about Quadrotech?** For a company that has migrated millions of PSTs I was surprised by the gotchas during the migration. Such as migrating calendar items by default. Or the lack of understanding of data transfer speeds. I understand that is difficult but I had a hard time getting past them not being able to speak confidently about the subject.
