Pydub best Audio Product **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Sneha T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023 **What do you like best about Pydub?** Pydub helps users to upload audio files in different formats, it is a very simple setup and you can download it from the website very easily, one of the best parts is the way it removes the background noise. **What do you dislike about Pydub?** Sometimes you can get confused, as their results are hard to achieve depending on how you run your script, Otherwise I do not find any dislike about this, so I really like this product. **What problems is Pydub solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps to edit audio however you want to edit it, else it comes with various features, you can edit it how you want to do by your own, so for me this is very beneficial product to use. ### 2. I appreciate that it can even generate the outputs in our desired formats. The level of simplicity in its software helps Pydub to reach its acme. **What do you dislike about Pydub?** The output quality is a little low than the original audio files. This problem can be rectified by enhancing its Python codes. I would like to see some improvements in the website interface. **What problems is Pydub solving and how is that benefiting you?** Pydub solves many problems related to audio. Any audio can be done using Pydub. My work became more productive after using Pydub. Pydub is a wonderful software for audio tools. ### 3. Only thing which gives bad sense is using the Pydub for bad intentions. **What problems is Pydub solving and how is that benefiting you?** I work for an IT company and we need to host online sessions and then publish it online. Sometimes, there are certain background noises which disturbs the whole session. Using Pydub helps me removing those noises to better extent. ### 5. It's hard in the beginning, but after you get familiar with the module, you'll be able to apply the effect in a few clicks. **What problems is Pydub solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use when I need to match the length of music with video, add fade-in, fade-out, and silence to the beginning. It's perfect for quick fixes and edits for instructional videos. ### 6. The code is there for anyone to hack and in case you want to implement any new feature yourself. This is a huge win, you are in control **What do you dislike about Pydub?** I think we need a UI. To increase the reach of PyDub, we need to make sure it is simple and intuitive. I used it on a school project but I absolutly think as my first solution if I need audio manipulation on the future. **What do you dislike about Pydub?** I didn't found something that disliked me. Maybe the only thing is that you need to have installed the codecs before starting, but this is something reasonable. **Recommendations to others considering Pydub:** If you need to work fast on your code and don't get slow on reading or creating audo and if you know python, this is your solution. ### 8. So, basically I tried to generate the test cases of my code using that. The best thing I liked was its documentation. Documentation was well elaborated and lucid. **What do you dislike about Pydub?** There was complexities in installing the library. I am not sure how did I resolved it but it was whole a headache. Apart from that, there is nothing that important that can I dislike. **Recommendations to others considering Pydub:** I suggested this library to my Junior batch who are currently working on Audio signal processing using Python. Also, for my current Bachelor thesis, I am using this library. My guide and their research scholars are planning to have an introductory session for this. ### 9. Opening and editing files is simple. The program is fast enough. **What do you dislike about Pydub?** I dislike it the fact that the entire song is loaded in memory. This can cause problems if it is a large song. Sometimes for eg, I just might wish to remove the first 10 secs of the song and don't need to load the entire song in memory **Recommendations to others considering Pydub:** Go with it, the example given in the readme is useful. ### 11.
