Shows the list of devices protected by your subscription, as well as labels, filters and other attributes. Note that you can handle devices from multiple operating systems, and the information table is customizable.

Handle device loans and assignments with Prey. Keep track of which users have which machines, create loan due dates and set actions like lock to devices that fail to be returned in time. You can also mark them as missing to receive detailed reports.

Create safe perimeters on a map, assign devices to the geofences, and set alerts like lock, unlock, alarm and alert to be triggered on devices entering and leaving the fences to react when needed.

Create time-based rules, or event-triggered actions to automate security and device management. The events will automatically run your selected actions on your fleet without relying on their connecting to Prey’s servers.

The interface is very clean and intuitive from the first moment. As for inventory management and security, it meets all the necessary requirements without complications. One drawback of PreyProject is that its recovery and tracking tools only work once the lost device connects to the internet. Until then, the system can’t update the device’s location or send commands, which can cause delays if the thief keeps the device offline. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Prey solving and how is that benefiting you?

PreyProject has been incredibly useful for me in situations where I needed to secure my devices quickly. I’ve been able to remotely lock a computer that was reported lost, as well as lock down a device that shouldn’t have been accessed in the first place. What do you like best about Prey?

Search capabilities have significantly improved since 2020, enabling us to efficiently locate a device or the individual assigned to it. The only potential concern to note is that improvements are most evident when a device is not receiving Prey updates. This situation can complicate matters, as the device may no longer be communicating with Prey servers. One thing I dislike about Prey is that its tracking features depend heavily on an active internet connection, which makes it difficult to locate a device when it is offline.

"Instant Device Location and Check-In History That Helps Recover "Lost" Devices"

What do you like best about Prey?

We may use Intune, yet adding location services on that, it takes forever by the time the device is located. With Prey, it is instantly and we also get the history of past check-in. We have recovered "lost" devices with Prey Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
