## PowerOn Reviews
  ### 1. Simple logic gets the job done.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2024

**What do you like best about PowerOn?**

Simple to understand plus you have a documentation to help from the company.

**What do you dislike about PowerOn?**

You can't Google to help with an issue you are experiencing.

**What problems is PowerOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can access and query the database using their proprietary query language. It also allows for users to create HTML screens and forms using the Symform or Symform PDF technology. There is also a framework for controlling a signature pad from the Topaz Signature pad company for modifications and updates to the screen and capturing users signature.

  ### 2. Power On Advantage - not the prettiest, but effective

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel N. | Graduate Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2021

**What do you like best about PowerOn?**

The fact that it is well-optimized for mobile devices, as field engineers have no other option of using it really. The widgets are highly customizable and you can easily add or remove such according to your interest in order to simplify their alignment across the screen. The resource allocation functionality is well-developed.

**What do you dislike about PowerOn?**

The UI may seem cluttered at times, but after all, that is because all the functionality needs to be suggested to the user.

**Recommendations to others considering PowerOn:**

Focus on learning well the basic parts of the app, as otherwise the tool may seem too complex for your needs. I would suggest requesting a demo in order to quickly do so.

**What problems is PowerOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Minimizing the downtime of certain electrical services, by managing to first quickly spot the issue and report it to the operations team, who can then assign personnel to handle the situation. The abovem-mentioned widget customization allows to simplify the app's layout and hence allows to quickly navigate through the app in such stressful situations

  ### 3. User Friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ravindra S. | Designer/Programmer - Energy Control Centre, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about PowerOn?**

Having previously used Microstation for CAD drawing I found it quite easy to adapt to this and learn how to navigate around this system and create diagrams. I am currently using Arc GIS for maintaining the network diagram and in comparison, I find that this is a lot slower. When using PowerOn I found having the grid switched on to be very useful for drawing substations- whereas when I try to use that tool in GIS it slows down the system considerably. For me PowerOn has the edge on other systems I have used.

**What do you dislike about PowerOn?**

It has been a good system for what I have used it for

**What problems is PowerOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used PowerOn in my previous role, maintaining the electricity network diagram. The control engineers would use this to operate the system. The use of different Worlds for drawing and operating was a good method and transferring diagrams to the Live world was a quick and easy process.

  ### 4. PowerOn for Symitar

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dustin G. | Principal Solutions Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2021

**What do you like best about PowerOn?**

PowerOn allows you to change almost anything inside of Symitar. That's a pretty sweet aspect of its technology. You can access and query the database using their proprietary query language. It also allows for users to create HTML screens and forms using the Symform or Symform PDF technology. There is also a framework for controlling a signature pad from the Topaz Signature pad company for modifications and updates to the screen and capturing users signature.

**What do you dislike about PowerOn?**

It's proprietary to the Symitar system so you have to learn a tool that is vendor locked. This isn't necessarily bad but locks you into an ecosystem. Learning it is actually pretty simple until you get to demand PowerOns that require a comprehensive understanding of HTML, HTML forms, and whatever front-end UI tooling you need to build your screens.

**Recommendations to others considering PowerOn:**

PowerOn is pretty much a requirement for you to use Symitar. So learn it to its maximum extent and you can skip out on a ton of work around and difficult double entries. It may also be a good idea for you to go and hire some younger high school or junior college talent to train up on PowerOn as it allows for quite a bit of automation and gives younger developers a great path into your financial institution.

Lastly, there are many aspects to PowerOn that can do really innovative things, but they require you to learn and master the Demand PowerOns (Demand Specfiles) to really get the best bang for your buck.

**What problems is PowerOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can make any number of screens or forms that are needed to make Symitar really work well for the way your credit union runs. It allows for almost anything to be automated inside a Credit Union on the Symitar system.

  ### 5. PowerOn helped me to successfully return to the workforce after a fourteen year work pause.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2021

**What do you like best about PowerOn?**

All participants had full access to any/all leadership across companies.

**What do you dislike about PowerOn?**

Nondescript path forward at the conclusion of the professional development and lack of a job description during the working hours.

**What problems is PowerOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PowerOn helped me to resolve the process for getting back to work after a career pause.

  ### 6. Simple logic gets the job done

  ### 7. PowerOn has been great to use. Learn something new just about everyday.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2020

**What do you like best about PowerOn?**

It’s structure is easy to understand once you get the hang of it.

**What do you dislike about PowerOn?**

I guess that it is only used in Episys Quest and not other products like other coding languages are.

**Recommendations to others considering PowerOn:**

Get training

**What problems is PowerOn solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reports, process improvement, workflows, forms, letters
