I like how you can adjust the needs according to your business needs. I appreciate the reviews provided.

**What do you dislike about PowerDNS?**

I wish there were more softwares working with this platform. However, there's already quite a few available. What if there were more guidance through g2?

**What problems is PowerDNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving e-commerce problems. I have benefit from one upping my current standards by using this platform and model.

  ### 2. Years of reliability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Franco T. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2022

**What do you like best about PowerDNS?**

The flexibility and easy of management of MySQL backend.
And the reliability: we have used PowerDNS for a number of years to manage our DNS infrastructure, and I can't remember any issue due to PowerDNS itself.

**What do you dislike about PowerDNS?**

The lacking of some kind of integrated management interface. It's manageable using a number of external tools, but sometimes an integrated web interface would be useful.

**What problems is PowerDNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My company uses PowerDNS to manage DNS for a huge number of domains (in the number of ten of thousands).
PowerDNS allows to do it in a reliable and flexible way.

  ### 3. Excellent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aidil A. | Senior System Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2021

**What do you like best about PowerDNS?**

Able to handle DNSSEC and integration with WHMCS DNS Manager plugin.

**What do you dislike about PowerDNS?**

Duplicate record - although the resouce record already exist, the same record added again hence giving duplicate record error.
User still able to add new zone without NS records

**Recommendations to others considering PowerDNS:**

Try and experience it yourselves. Although it may be a bit hassle to configure it for the firstimer, later on it will become clearer. If want to have DNS service only, no other unneeded services (unneeded services such as email, FTP, filesharing - while webserver and database are required if setting up PowerDNS with database and web-based frontend) then should consider PowerDNS.

**What problems is PowerDNS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At the time was using WHM as DNS manager and was looking for DNSSEC function. DNSSEC was not supported in WHM although using BIND as its back-end. There was a need to have DNSSEC at that time so we've found PowerDNS do have DNSSEC function and able to transfer the signature to slave NS as well. WHM do now support DNSSEC function but incompatible with DNS Clustering. Furthermore, WHM includes all unnecessary stuff and services whereas we just want to have DNS management only. Obviously WHM meant for hosting websites.
