If you can sketch (even poorly) you can use this program without the burden of having to learn EVERY detail of the program to be productive. Try to navigate AutoCADD's never-ending list of tools, options, and commands. **What do you dislike about PowerCADD?** The only issue I face is crashes. There seem to be some sequences of commands that the program just doesn't know what to do with. In some cases it completely erases the file you are working on. You need to do FREQUENT backups to avoid losing your work. Another downside is having to educate PC users (primarily AutoCADD) as to how to save and send their drawings. Seems to be easier to do your own incoming and outgoing translations. **What problems is PowerCADD solving and how is that benefiting you?** Easy to use and inexpensive wile still having powerful tools. Unfortunately, I don't think the company can keep up with the pace of change in hardware and related operating systems. ### 2. PowerCADD is designed for use on macOS operating systems and is known for its user-friendly interface and high-quality output. **What do you dislike about PowerCADD?** Where it may lack in comparison to other CAD software. Here are a few examples: 1) 3D modeling capabilities - is primarily a 2D CAD software, and while it does have some 3D modeling features, it may not be as robust as other 3D modeling software. 2)BIM (Building Information Modeling) features - lacks BIM features. 3) Rendering capabilities - It might not be as technically advanced as comparable instruments when it comes to producing outstanding lifelike depictions. **What problems is PowerCADD solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a PowerCADD user, I have found that it is a production drafting classic that allows me to get my work done efficiently and effectively. Learning the basics of PowerCADD took me less than a day, and I found it easy to use and customize to my specific needs. When asked about my favorite features of PowerCADD, I have to say that it just works like it ought to, with the ability to customize just about everything. While it may not be as advanced as other software in terms of creating high-quality, photorealistic renderings, I find that it more than makes up for this in its user-friendly interface and ability to get the job done quickly and accurately. ### 3. It reads the .dwg files so easily and these are easily customisable, make it user friendly. The user interface is amazingly easy to learn. Multiple layers can be established and viewed at the same time. **What do you dislike about PowerCADD?** The application works in Macintosh OS, making the functions restricted to other OS. In my projects from more the 100,000 feet has the vesatility and the powerful of AutoCAD. But it is more enjoyable using it and has a been a delightful to work with it, works beautifully on my Imac-pro's display and on printed paper looks a perfect quality. **What do you dislike about PowerCADD?** The last version is not compatible yet with Catalina or Big-Sur. **What problems is PowerCADD solving and how is that benefiting you?** Architectural and Engineering full projects. ### 8. No need to use photoshop. Turn off layers and keep working on a construction drawing. It would be the perfect software if 3D illustrations will be possible, but not yet included. The only negative comment is that it is not compatible with Catalina IOS. I can’t update my Mac. I am an architect and I’ve been using Powercadd for 23 years and I am in love. **What do you dislike about PowerCADD?** It is not compatible with Catalina IOS, I can’t update the Operating system of my MAC or I lose the software. **What problems is PowerCADD solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Powercadd you can developed the whole project, from an schematic color render to a final construction document. I’ve been using it for 23 years, and I won’t change it!! ### 10. One-key shortcuts for the most used and important drawing tools, like Trim, are exceedingly faster and easier to use than other cad software. It is very easy to start using and understand. Being able to work with a Mac in lieu of PC is an added bonus. **What do you dislike about PowerCADD?** There are a handful of tools that PowerCADD does not have. **Recommendations to others considering PowerCADD:** I would recommend this product for those interested in a beautiful output, quick production, and easy software learning for 2D drawing work (especially for any medium to small firms or projects). **What problems is PowerCADD solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem of creating an aesthetically-pleasing drawing is quickly solved with this software. The ability to do this speeds up production enormously, and allows for more people with a range of technical skillsets to work together in the same program. Creating text, for example, requires very little setup and is done rapidly. Another feature, "ghosting" a background layer to draw over, is incredibly helpful. Printing to pdf and printing to a plotter is straightforward. Any issues encountered are solved quickly with the software creators with quick phone calls or emails, which is excellent customer service. ### 11. The learning curve is not very hard to grasp It has the best 2D automation drafting out there for the price and pure scope of learning to use the product with ease. **What do you dislike about PowerCADD?** My only complaint is that seems to crash frequently so save your work! **Recommendations to others considering PowerCADD:** I would most defintely recommend using PowerCADD. It's easy to undertsand and implement. It makes jobs easier to explain to customers when you can understaned it better "visually", **What problems is PowerCADD solving and how is that benefiting you?** Better business design for clients not to mention my own personal designs for home projects are easier to implement. ### 12. Apple computers offer relatively worry-free computing as well as excellent tech support. If you still have Windows you can use Bootcamp to install Windows on your Mac. **What problems is PowerCADD solving and how is that benefiting you?** PowerCADD speeds up the production of technical plan documents, as opposed to hand drafting. If one gets the "expert" package then one gets WildTools™, which is an add-on which features many useful, powerful tools. Line cleanups, snaps, dimensioning are all handled with ease and are quick. PowerCADD is highly recommended for those who need to produce construction documents and very fine detailing. It does this better than any BIM tool currently out there. The DWG translator is basic- it will save entire sheets, but the text handling isn't perfect- title block text appears basic, and its formatting gets jumbled. It's OK importing DWG drawings, but make sure that what you are importing is the version AutoCAD that PowerCADD supports. ### 13.
