**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Posit Team?**

It's open-source, agile, easy to start, and we learn new skills on the websites. There are tons of resources and great websites out there. Such as Kaggle, stackoverflow.com, R-bloggers, and many University websites. Besides, I found youtube is a good place to learn RStudio too. When I have a question, just google it, and will find answers very quickly. Most importantly, it's free software, everyone can download and learn it. Without it, I can't work.

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

Some new packages are not compatible. Another problem is it doesn't save the process. Every time it requires to run the whole script if my computer restarts.

**Recommendations to others considering Posit Team:**

Download the latest version of the software. Some packages are not compatible with each other. Like if you use Bioconductor packages, you may lose some of the previous packages, don't know how this works, but it happened to me many times.

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RStudio is my daily used software, I use it most of the time for data analysis. I use it for data manipulation, such as text strings, matrix, or data frames with both texts and numbers information. It's very good for statistical analysis. I found some built-in packages are kinda old, some functions are really hard to understand and use, have to explore some new packages for simple functions.

Statistical analysis of data to assess the health of Caribbean coral reefs and create projections about future conditions.

  ### 19. RStudio design to handle complex data frame

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anoj A. | Agriculture Instructor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Posit Team?**

I have been using RStudio for more than two years. I feel awesome to play with its scripts. I feel good to learn new things every time. For me using this software is the best experience as it has more and more potential to learn a new way of playing with data. This software is made to handle large data frames. It works on the way we provide the command to it. Really learning the command always makes us feel that more and more to go to find the easier method. Really I feel like playing the game of data. I am more passionate about it. I have learned its scripts from the software itself by using the package swirl. As a mathematician creating an R Markdown document to assist the students is one of the best features of this software. Free software, creating own of a project file, saving the script for further work, different packages available for different work makes it more attractive.

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

Does not read the empty cells, spacing and unnecessary characters can be stated as constraints of this software but I don’t think it as a big deal to be addressed.

**Recommendations to others considering Posit Team:**

I fully recommend to all the researchers to use RStudio as it may be difficult for the beginners but later on, you cannot imagine the potentiality of the software and its packages features. it's just a wow!! Awesome!!

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly use Agricolae, Tidyverse, GGplot, Multcom and Car packages to analyze the data. I feel good to design the script according to my need and the data frame. Mainly I use RStudio for DMRT calculation, finds the nature of the scatterings of the data, allocate the missing data, correlate the data, Boxplot it, and also to analyze the molecular yielding data.

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can extract data faster than in other applications and then analyze it

  ### 22. Rstudio- Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshat G. | Data Science Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2021

  ### 23. A must for graduate students

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sukran Bahar S. | Doctoral Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Posit Team?**

I use Rstudio for my classes, training research assistants and for data analysis in my lab. I also generate figures here when creating figures for research papers. I like that R is very user friendly and that I can leave comments and make scripts for the students to use and try on their own.

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

I sometimes wish that the figures/graphs we create did not automatically "float". There is always a weird gap between the x-axis and where the bar graphs start which I later on modify. This sometimes confuses the reader and also makes the graph look less aesthetically pleasing

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for quick, efficient data analysis as well as an introduction to data analysis for training assistants. They can apply what they learn in statistics classes and see that these can be much more efficiently done using R. For example if they are dealing with frequency distributions and learn how to look up t and z scores from tables I find it extremely helpful that they also learn how to compute these in R then compare from the graph, as everyone uses programs to do statistics nowadays.

  ### 24. RStudio Review

The libraries you can add on to R for text analysis and literally any kind of data analysis you would like to do is phenomenal. The visualization libraries are beautiful to integrate with your data and make it easy to understand and tell a story through data.

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

Not much, the IDE is easy to move windows around and run commands on the terminal. You can build out logic to your datasets in the environment and see all the variable you have stored values in. It is immensely helpful to watch your variables when designing the code.

**Recommendations to others considering Posit Team:**

It is a very powerful tool with some of the most advanced analytical capabilities, it will certainly help you understand the data you are dealing with.

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I analyzed several features of the stock market to try to understand keywords and articles that were effecting the stock prices. I was able to identify a few that with the help of the plotting and graphing libraries, I was able to visualize and gain an understanding on what words mattered in the market.

Coding language is relatively easy to learn. Can generate data analysis reports easily with r mark down files. can easily access objects in the interactive environment.

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

It is relatively slow when running programs and optimizations for large data sets. Being an open source software anyone can develop packages and upload , hence the algorithms in different packages may need to be run differently.

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do time series analysis. Especially for econometric data. The package Quandl is heavily used. The best benefit is the ability to download econometric time series data easily and fast. It is free. Also, downloading procedure is very simple hence it saves a lot of time.

I also use simulation studies with RStudio. generating random numbers , density functions of various probability distributions is easy. Can create multi dimensional arrays to store data, and also, can export data, tables to text documents such as LaTeX easily.

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Posit Team?**

Rstudio is one of the most popular integrated development environments (IDEs) for the R language. It has become the gold standard for using and teaching R. You can use the after just after the installation with zero settings. In fact, it is so popular that the Python community has developed the Python equivalent of RStudio.

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

There is nothing in RStudio that I dislike.

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Well, the main R interface is not easy to use. RStudio gathers all the resources for coding in one place and makes it easy and smooth for coders. Everything such as the code, the results section, the objects, help pages, package management, etc. It also helps users with multiple versions of R. It is an almost perfect tool for new users and novice programmers.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco Antonio F. | Actuarial Science Degree, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Posit Team?**

What I like most about RStudio is how it makes working with R. super practical.
You have all the information of your R session distributed in the panels in a clear way, you will always have your variables, functions, graphs and Datasets in sight which helps a lot in my work.
The generation of reports is simple since it comes with an integrated Markdown editor and can be generated in other formats such as HTML or Shiny slides.

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

There are few things that dislike Rstudio, the processing speed is reduced a bit when using it, sometimes it can be inconvenient to have to update R and RStudio due to version incompatibilities.

**Recommendations to others considering Posit Team:**

Totally recommended for students and researchers, it is the best way to work with R and the best, totally free.

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With RStudio I have been able to do data analysis in a more orderly and fast way, create reports of my analysis to share them with collaborators and students.

  ### 45. Best IDE for R Workflow

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrés E. | Data Engineer, E-Learning, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Posit Team?**

RStudio is an IDE packed with features for the R programmer. From a debugger to integrated documentation and easy package management. I particularly like how R Studio handles R Markdown files; it is pretty easy to create reproducible documents that are documented with Markdown. With RStudio I've become less dependent on google to search for documentation for R functionality. It is as easy as adding a ´?´ before the command name in R Studio console and the documentation for that function will display automatically.

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

I would like R Studio to have better collaborative features such as those found in databricks or IPython notebooks.

**Recommendations to others considering Posit Team:**

Make sure you kleep it up to date as well as the base R package. Sometimes you m

  ### 46. Most of what you need for your analytical projects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose P. | Senior Data Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Posit Team?**

RStudio provides a simple interface where it is easy to find what you need at the right moment. If you need to install a library package, or if you need to run a simple command on the terminal, look at your current variables, sort your datasets visually, look at your created graphs, everything is at the reach of your hand.

The shortcuts make the experience of programming a lot better as you can skip some nuisances pertaining to the language itself.

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

The Export Image option in the Plots section doesn't always give the best results. Also, it lacks a default option of block code execution that other software, even if they use another programming language, have as core mechanic.

**Recommendations to others considering Posit Team:**

Get your hands on the R programming language capabilities and you will realize everything is considered in the RStudio interface. Most of the limitations of the software are dictated by the limitations of the programming language and not by RStudio itself. However, if you are looking for good data visualization options, you should consider another tool.

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It wraps the R programming language in a well done interface, therefore any analytical project in my current workflow has as a step the data exploration availability provided by RStudio. Also, it has the capability of managing your data in files in a quick manner, making it possible for you to integrate the results of your analysis into other tools that work with flat files.

  ### 47. Updated Coding platform for R

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gamáh T. | Student Technical Consultant (IT/AVStaff, Level 3), Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Posit Team?**

R Studio, the alternate version of the original "R" application, is definitely new and improved. Instead of having to look at separate windows and copy to run code, it is all in one place simultaneously, which makes every step just that much easier. I had started off using R, but once a professor of mine recommended I use Rstudio, I did not go back to R! Combining all the windows into one was a very necessary change.

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

Sometimes R studio can become a little funky when creating variables/adding new variables to an imported data set, which can be annoying. Also, I wish it was more optimized for excel when copying tables as well but that's just a personal minor issue.

**Recommendations to others considering Posit Team:**

It can be a little overwhelming, as most coding environments are at first, but it is a great coding environment for programming in R

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do like how it shows your variables made on the right-hand side, which ensures me that my variable is indeed in the data set or has been appended to it correctly.

  ### 48. Outstanding environment for statistical computation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio G. Z. | Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Posit Team?**

Rstudio is not only an incredible graphical interface for R language but it represents a complete (the most one) user and development environment. With Rstudio is very easy, for instance, to automatically import datasets and to navigate through source files and workspaces without write any line of code. Plus, it allows for a very efficient management of the generated plots and of the command flow. Eventually, Rstudio is a must-to-have tool for any R user.

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

It's very hard to find some cons about Rstudio. Maybe, some graphical components could be more visually appreciable with an icon restyling

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I have to proceed with statistical hypothesis, post-hoc analyses and descriptive statistics, including plotting, I heavily use Rstudio for that.

  ### 49. Simplify the process of updating a database

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frederick D. | IT Implementer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Posit Team?**

Knowing the R language and using RStudio allows you to manage data on database, giving the user all the statistical information needed, something especially useful when you’re evaluating historical data. We have used it for ourselves and it has helped us to save a lot of time and advance with our projects. There is only a low risk of losing your information as you’re able to save your codes. Last but not least, RStudio is an open source software.

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

When trying to view large database, sometimes the software doesn’t show all the fields and some information is missing I don't know exactly why this happens, but it's very annoying and it takes too much timeu. Also, I have encountered some bugs that made me return to the terminal and even if it doesn’t happen too often, it's annoying when it does.

**Recommendations to others considering Posit Team:**

I recommend RStudio for coders and analyst with knowledge on the R language. Once you know this, RStudio is a simply yet useful tool. I prefer this one over other similar software, like Rodeo, because I find Rstudio to be more effective and simpler to use.

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

RStudio is a handy tool when it comes to updating a database, as it makes this process shorter and easier. Not only that, but it simplifies the process of creating and even reading databases. When I’m doing some research work, RStudio shows statistical information, helping me a lot with the overall analysis.

  ### 50. The best tool to start learning and working with R language

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neus M. | Data & Business Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Posit Team?**

The interface is very friendly, both the console, the script and the environment where you can see your dataset. I started learning R with RStudio and it helps a lot because you can find the packages documentation in the help section of RStudio. You can also write your code in different formats and languages (C++, Python...).

**What do you dislike about Posit Team?**

Visualizations need a lot of personalization if you want them looking beautiful.

**Recommendations to others considering Posit Team:**

Very useful to analyze thousands of rows with your data.

**What problems is Posit Team solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Have a very stable software and interface to write my code and applying machine learning algorithms to my data.
