**What do you like best about PLAXIS 3D?**

Plaxis 3D helps to easilt and effectivly use finite element modelling for analyzing slope deformation which can be modelled into 3D data planes for effective visualization.

**What do you dislike about PLAXIS 3D?**

Nothing to dislike runs perfectily. However 3D  models could be further enhanced.

**What problems is PLAXIS 3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Plaxis to find out the deformation in the slopes in mountanious regions in the vicinity of railway lines encountering small but regular vibrations from train movements.

Its user friendly interface and its compatiabilty with other softwares

At some point, calibration is something which needs to improved

**What do you like best about PLAXIS 3D?**

The thing I loved the most was the diversity in problem solving.  For example, it helped me in static and dynamic analysis of geo-slope as well as in finding the factor of safety after the inclusion of rock bolts as a remedial measure. I couldn't find such a feature in any other similar software.

**What do you dislike about PLAXIS 3D?**

This software requires high graphics card which may not be available on every device. Also, dyanamic calculation took a long time which could be improved to make the experience better.

**What problems is PLAXIS 3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PLAXIS 3D solved the problems of finite element analysis in the field of geotechnical analysis for me. Without this software, it would have been very time-consuming and complex.

**What do you like best about PLAXIS 3D?**

It helps me to solve different type of engineering problems in 3D environment. You can use the Python script, convert 2D to 3D, import various types of CAD models (step, def and so forth) in PLAXIS 3D. The numerical modeling techniques are quite easy-to-use based on finite element analysis.

**What do you dislike about PLAXIS 3D?**

Picos solving method is highly dependeing on mesh quality, the huge difference between materials  stiffnesses and boundary conditions. On the other hand, PLAXIS 3D is sometimes suffering to import 3D CAD files.

**What problems is PLAXIS 3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PLAXIS 3D is a powerful software that help geotechnical engineers to solve any kind of static, dynamic, thermal, transient analysis in 3D environment with easy to use user-friendly commands. You can also solve civil engineering problems such as beams/bars in structural engineering models.

I can compare physical model with the model created in plaxis

**What do you dislike about PLAXIS 3D?**

It takes too long for dynamic calculation and if not careful results is not correct

Helping to analyse geogrid in pavements and is helping for my research onthe topic of pavement anlysis

**What do you like best about PLAXIS 3D?**

Plaxis 3D is the most potent soil-structure interaction analysis tool available on the market. The support that the Bentley company provides for its products is friendly, fast, and efficient.

**What do you dislike about PLAXIS 3D?**

I think the software runs a complete analysis of geotechnical and structural matters, so I guess I haven't any negative comments about it.

**What problems is PLAXIS 3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slope stability analysis, embankments on soft soils, retaining walls, various types of shallow and deep foundations, excavations, etc.

It's a very versatile tool for geotechnical engineers. It allows simulating different geometries very close to reality.

The price! It is expensive, still a powerful tool.

-Deep Soil Mixing soil improvement for earth retention systems:
In this project, PLAXIS 3D was used to validate assumptions made with plane strain analyses. This use enabled to notice a critical aspect of the design being dismissed by the nature of the 2D analysis

-Tangent cofferdam shafts (eight shaped) for tunneling construction inlets and outlets.
In this application PLAXIS 3D allowed to simulate a complex geometry unable to be captured using 2D plane strain or axisymmetric conditions. I was also able to model different materials layouts and properties, as well as to simulate complicated dewatering processes.

-Helical anchors loaded under inclined loads:
In this application, PLAXIS 3D was used to analyze a very close to real geometry and simulate different soil conditions with advanced constitutive models not available in other FE software.

**What do you like best about PLAXIS 3D?**

Most of our problems, especially, in Geotechnical Engineering, are 3D in nature. Therefore, Plaxis 3D is the suitable tool for engineers to evaluate the interactions between the structural elements, soil, fluid, and other soil-structrue-interations concerns. For many cases, the use of a 3D FEM analyses is mandatory rather than optional.

**What do you dislike about PLAXIS 3D?**

The computational time and building the model's Geometry might be time-consuming tasks. Nevertheless, the advancement in hardware, software, and programming scripting has improved this, markedly.

**Recommendations to others considering PLAXIS 3D:**

Allow Plaxis 3D to surprise you with its capabilities, and you will never regret it. But remember, it is not only the tool, but the user, the experience, and the engineering judgment behind.

**What problems is PLAXIS 3D solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Plaxis 3D is becoming the daily-use tool for Geotechnical engineers. The applications of this tool are limitless, and some of which: tunnels, shallow foundations, deep foundations, piled raft, soil improvement, bridges, highways, slopes, excavations, mining, dynamic analysis, among others. The advantages can be seen in the cost-effectiveness solutions provided by the help of Plaxis 3D along with high accuracy. The flexibility and type of elements, loads, and constitutive models make Plaxis 3D the most comprehensive tool in one place.
