But on the other hand you get a lot of product for your money. **What problems is PHPRunner solving and how is that benefiting you?** There are a lot of default software programs in the world like for example CRM. Problem with default applications is that most of m customers not need some options in a application. But have to pay for it. With PHPRunner i can create application that are completely what the customer needs. Nothing less nothing more......except when the customer wants more, then i can easily create the options the customer need. The application is used to generate and create each application as such the cost of each additional application beyond the first one is free and there is zero lock in of all applications created. I personally like to pay an annual fee but I know that all my applications created will still work indefinitely should I stop my subscription. They don't force you to host with them once the application has been created and you can deploy your created applications anywhere. As a result there is very minimal lock in. It comes with scaffolding that makes two factor authentication and if you choose their php product you can host this on any shared hosing cpanel cloud hoster making it extremely flexible. **What do you dislike about PHPRunner?** I have no issues with PHPRunner it is a better product than any other that I have tried. **What problems is PHPRunner solving and how is that benefiting you?** At its core it will scaffold a fast CRUD database web user interface with rock solid authentication against all the major relational database. ### 4. We are a general contractor for building new homes. It allows us to easily manage interactive portals for all of our trade partners and customers while integrated seamlessly with our in-house MySQL database. Implementing it took very little time - I did not need to know any code. It actually helped me learn some code as I became more familliar with it. The team is very responsive to all of the support questions/issues I have had. Encouraging that they continue releasing new versions (with lots of enhancements/improvements) - meaning this will be a tool we'll be able to use for many many years! I use PHPRunner on an as-needed basis (when there are changes in our database or we want to add something to a page). **What do you dislike about PHPRunner?** There are sometimes elements on a page that you do not know exactly what they will look like in a web browser until building out the pages. The Style page helps a bit. It's not really a big deal though (same thing with any web design tool). "Quality, Support, Price — Pick Two" is a common marketing mantra. It's great that it works on Windows, MacOS, and Linux. I like its speed and how it saves a lot of development time. I have been using PHPRunner for approximately 20 years and have developed many large scale complex applications, as well as smaller apps using the off-the-shelf templates. It is constantly updated with new features. It has undoubtably saved me thousands of hours of coding time, and likely tens of thousands of pounds/dollars in not having to pay a coder to do this for me. PHPRunner's enhanced encryption and security features are far more powerful than other programs of similar type and I appreciate how seriously Xlinesoft has taken security in developing the app. The various templates are superb, providing a solid starting point. I enjoy the inclusion of AnyChart, which allows data to be displayed dynamically and in a visually pleasing way. I like that my code development stays on my machine, not on a cloud platform with expensive subscriptions. The customer support by Sergey is fast, helpful, and pragmatic, even for someone who isn't a coder, and the lively support forums create a real sense of community. The use of APIs and the ability to connect to multiple database types on different server types are essential features for me. It's also a benefit that after the annual license expires, I can continue using it. **What do you dislike about PHPRunner?** I don't dislike anything about PHPRunner. However, I'd really like to see more themes and a greater ability to customize these with newer versions of bootstrap. I'd also like to see greater use of AnyChart, such as a wider variety of the many charts it has to offer. For someone who works with databases, reporting, or internal business tools, it can save an enormous amount of development time. Another major strength is the user community and blog/forum group. There is almost always someone willing to help when you run into questions. When it comes to more complicated coding additions, the admins and experienced users may not always provide a complete step-by-step solution, but they will point you in the right direction — what we often jokingly call “inspiration.” That guidance is usually enough to help solve the problem. And if you still can't get something working, people are willing to help you work through it. In many cases, they not only help solve the issue but also help you become a better coder in the process. The support has always been excellent, and with each new release the software continues to gain more features and some very innovative ways to build applications. **What do you dislike about PHPRunner?** Can't really think of anything I dislike. **What problems is PHPRunner solving and how is that benefiting you?** I’ve built quite a few applications that I still use every day with PHPRunner. One of the more robust ones is a work ticket and time-tracking system that also handles job tracking. It’s become part of my daily workflow. I also built a resale and farm wagon design customization program where a user can start with a base wagon frame and configure it to their needs, while the program automatically adds or subtracts the cost of each component. I’ve also written a horse farm management program, an inventory tracker, and a number of smaller utility programs. Honestly, if I have something that needs a web-based database behind it, PHPRunner is usually the first tool I reach for. It makes building useful applications fast and practical. I’ve also written another very powerful program for use in the hotel industry, but due to trademarks and confidentiality I can’t really describe it. What I can say is that the level of detail that went into it would likely have taken 15 years or more to build without PHPRunner. ### 12. I have been working with Linux servers and the LAMP stack for a long time, but at that time I did not have very advanced experience in developing complete web applications. What attracted me to PHPRunner was the fact that it can very quickly generate a functional application starting directly from the database structure. In a few hours you can already have a complete application: data listings, CRUD forms, user authentication and role-based access control. For me, it was a very efficient way to build internal applications without having to manually write a lot of code. **What do you dislike about PHPRunner?** I would like it to be updated to the latest version of Bootstrap. **What problems is PHPRunner solving and how is that benefiting you?** Use case – Internal CRM for the sales team After I started to gain more experience with PHPRunner, in 2022 I started to develop an internal CRM system for the company I work for. The application manages several important processes for the sales and support team: - customer and contact management - quote and order management - invoice due date tracking - customer interaction history - debt collection management - automatic notifications for overdue or due invoices - reports for the sales team - target vs. achieved monitoring for agents and customers - customer complaint management - real-time inventory consultation from ERP - access to customer financial status from ERP The application is developed in PHP, using MySQL as the main database and Microsoft SQL Server as the secondary database (the company's ERP database). The application is currently running in production and is used daily by approximately 60 users from the sales team and support departments. What I like about PHPRunner 1. Development speed You can generate complete web applications very quickly starting from an existing database. 2. PHP event system This is probably one of the most powerful things in PHPRunner. It allows you to add custom logic exactly where you need it. In the CRM project, we used events for - custom validations, customized reports, automatic generation of fields, integration with SQL Server through views and stored procedures, etc. 3. Flexibility Even though the application is automatically generated, you can easily extend the functionality with PHP or JavaScript. 4. Ideal for internal business applications For CRMs, management applications, dashboards or internal database-based systems it is extremely efficient. Initial learning curve : - The interface has quite a few options and can be a bit overwhelming at first. It takes a little time to understand the structure of the project and how the events work. Once you understand the workflow, however, development becomes very fast. Conclusion - In my experience, PHPRunner is one of the most efficient tools for rapid development of database-driven web applications. For projects such as CRM, simplified ERP or internal management applications, it can greatly reduce development time, while maintaining the flexibility needed for customizations. Once I design the data base, PHPRunner does the rest and creates very atractive looking applications that are then very easy to maintain and grow as my client's requirements change, **What do you dislike about PHPRunner?** I can't think of anything. It's reliable, well maintained and produces reliable code. **What problems is PHPRunner solving and how is that benefiting you?** Without PHPRunner I would not be able to develop an application, my programming skills are not up to date. I can however design a relational data base, then I can rely on PHPRunner to actually write the code. This also saves me a lot of time as I don't need to actually write test, debug and repeat the process until the system does what I want. PHPRUnner get's it right first time and hsa done for me for over 10 years. I have two clients who used to maintain their clients' data in spreadsheets that they couldn't share very well among the team. I designed the relational Data Bases based on their spreadsheets and their additional requirements and built the two systems in PHPRunner. Suddenly every member of both teams could access their clients' data whether working in the offices or working from home. Since then, and over the many years I've been maintaining and updating the systems, PHPRunner has itself been improved, updated and always been terrifically reliable. ### 15. Unlike many other programming environments you can keep your focus on the functional logic of the application and not so much the technical workout of your app. Additionally, personal support is also much appreciated. You are always supported when a problem might occur. Once you get to know the products, there is no faster and easier environment to build a webapp. Either small or big, size does not matter at all. For us personally, we use this framework a lot for integration with other environments. The IDE is very intuitive and once you have set up your development pipeline continuous development is extremely simple. The options available really cover all the standard things you generally want to do in a CRUD based applications. There is code behind as well that allows you to write your own logic which allows you to do anything your skills allow you to. Its a product that should benefit everyone from complete beginners through to advanced programmers. There is a good forum where sensible questions are answered quickly and you can get paid support if you need it. I have had no problem publishing to cpanel web host providers and to MS Azure.
