The user interface is just simple, and yet the transformations it could carry out is probably the most powerful I know compared to other phot editing tools.

  ### 5. Powerful HDR processing tool with a few quirks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Puneet Y. | Senior Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Photomatix Pro?**

If HDR images is something that you enjoy making then this tool is a great option to help transform your images. all you need is to take images with multiple exposure values and then the software seamless merges them all to create a true high dynamic range photo. It has around 6 HDR styles and multiple setting that one can fine tune to create eye popping images that make the viewer feel as if he just inside the image himself. It also has batch processing to help one edit multiple set of images together in 1 go saving time and efforts in duplicating efforts.

**What do you dislike about Photomatix Pro?**

file sharing option post editing should be expanded like directly uploading to shared image services like flickr etc. The UI looks dated now in 2023 and it can be worked upon to make it look slick and more user intuitive.

**What problems is Photomatix Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HDR images can be easily made using tis if one has images with multiple exposure value, HDR can also be made with single images but the result is not the best. the batch editing also saves a lot of time.

The presets I use serve as great beginning points for various effects, from subtle and natural upgrades to more creative and dramatic ones, saving time for me when editing and encouraging creativity. the integration and deghosting procces in the program operate without a hitch, resulting in well-blended results that appear genuine.

**What do you dislike about Photomatix Pro?**

The ease of use of Photomatix Pro has several drawbacks, such as its price and undersatnding all of the tone visualization parameters and getting the desire effects could take some time to study and experimnet with. photomatix Pro might be better by adding comprehensive picture categorization and organizing tools because it mainly focuses on HDR editing.

  ### 27. good editing program

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adan G. | informatic , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Photomatix Pro?**

One of my most loved parts of Photomatix Pro is the direct module ability to Adobe Lightroom. When I am preparing an expansive assortment of substance, this module capacity makes the work process straightforward and speedy contrasted with running different projects freely. One of the other positive highlights is the capacity to process RAW picture documents, which isn't generally an included element for different projects of this sort.

**What do you dislike about Photomatix Pro?**

As an independent program, there are not a huge amount of manipulative settings. While this makes it extraordinary for effortlessness and coordinations, it fails to impress anyone for further developed clients. One other blame of this program is to what extent it takes to fire up. It takes a few minutes to fire up when first opening the application, so on the off chance that you are in a rush, this can absolutely cause some pressure.

**What problems is Photomatix Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is the selective program that I use for preparing HDR (high unique range) photography, where I have to join numerous pictures into a solitary picture. Once more, I cherish the module to Adobe Lightroom - this fathoms the issue of preparing in a hurry. Without this capacity it nearly ends up important to have an optional screen, which isn't constantly workable for me.

  ### 28. Photmatix give the control that cameras don't

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Photomatix Pro?**

The degree of control over the image is far superior to in camera HDR processing. For images with very detailed light or dark areas, this range is absolutely necessary to get the desired image. It also gives the user the ability to be uber creative with photographs and create very surreal looking images if that's what you are after.

**What do you dislike about Photomatix Pro?**

Depending on your hardware, this program might work somewhat slowly and lag a bit. I am running on a 7 year old mac pro and it does pretty well if there are no other memory hog programs open at the same time.

**Recommendations to others considering Photomatix Pro:**

If you use Photoshop or in-camera HDR, consider Photomatix to speed up your process and produce great photographs or artwork.

**What problems is Photomatix Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because of lighting and other restraints, i often have to do industrial photography of subjects in less than ideal lighting conditions. My old, pre-Photomatix method was to bracket a lot, then use Photoshop to choose the best exposure areas and blend them all together with masks. With Photomatix, this process is automated thus it saves me tons of time and creates a well-balanced and well-exposed end result.

  ### 29. Photomatix Pro

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason M. | Worship Leader, Music, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2017

**What do you like best about Photomatix Pro?**

One of my favorite aspects of Photomatix Pro is the direct plugin capability to Adobe Lightroom. When I am processing a large body of content, this plugin capability makes the workflow simple and quick compared to running multiple programs independently. One of the other positive features is the ability to process RAW image files, which is not always an included feature for other programs of this type.

**What do you dislike about Photomatix Pro?**

As a standalone program, there are not a ton of manipulative settings. While this makes it great for simplicity and logistics, it leaves something to be desired for more advanced users. One other fault of this program is how long it takes to start up. It takes a couple of minutes to start up when first opening the application, so if you are in a hurry, this can certainly cause some stress.

**Recommendations to others considering Photomatix Pro:**

I would definitely suggest that prospective customers download a free trial of Photomatix Pro and check out the features before purchasing. For my uses, this program is great and provides all of the functionality that I needed and expected.

**What problems is Photomatix Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is the exclusive program that I use for processing HDR (high dynamic range) photography, where I need to combine multiple images into a single image. Again, I love the plugin to Adobe Lightroom - this solves the issue of processing on the go. Without this capability it almost becomes necessary to have a secondary monitor, which is not always possible for me.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2017

**What do you like best about Photomatix Pro?**

If you don't want to purchase an expensive Adobe product, go with Photomatix Pro. It handles photo editing very well and even allows closer editing for layering HDR photos.

**What do you dislike about Photomatix Pro?**

Photomatix is a bit clunky and not as intuitive as other photo editing softwares. However, it gets the job done and does it well.

**Recommendations to others considering Photomatix Pro:**

Photomatix Pro is a good product for the money you spend. It's a good solution to photo editing and compressing.

**What problems is Photomatix Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At one point in time, we were layering and editing several series of HDR photos. I found that Photomatix did a better job at compressing and post-compressed edits than some other programs.

  ### 33. one of my preferred HDR tools

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gian Pietro D. | Specialista in marketing digitale, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2016

**What do you like best about Photomatix Pro?**

First thing is that i can create an HDR shot from a single photo shot! The Essential version of this program has got an affordable price. It's better than other tools that i saw in the past. I really like the Exposure Fusion where details in highlights are taken from the underexposed photos and shadow detail from those overexposed, that's is very useful on making a great HDR shot!

**What do you dislike about Photomatix Pro?**

I think that the price is high, for the complete version hof photomatix, because it's a good tool but not easy to understand at first time, it needs some practice for get the best results.
Sometimes a band is displayed around the picture after changing the shooting perspective

**Recommendations to others considering Photomatix Pro:**

Is a good tool for merging multiple shots for create a good HDR picture, is integrated with Lightroom, and that's a cool thing!

**What problems is Photomatix Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows you to combine images taken using the integrated bracketing technique in many cameras. Sometimes helps me to create cool HDR pictures from only few shots or only one!
Automatic deghosting i think is a very cool options if there someting that is moving on your shots

  ### 34. A better HDR engine than Photoshop

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johnny S. | CPP Photographer, Owner, Photography, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2017

**What do you like best about Photomatix Pro?**

The software is much more versatile in the results that it renders for HDR images.

**What do you dislike about Photomatix Pro?**

The manual deghosting tool is a bit inaccurate. I wish I could select a window and replace with a lower exposure with accuracy

**Recommendations to others considering Photomatix Pro:**

Just compare it next to Photoshop

**What problems is Photomatix Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can generate realistic looking images, meaning not surreal, without using lights on location.

  ### 35. Photomatix Pro is still the best software for HDR photography

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Photomatix Pro?**

Even with Google, Adobe, and the other big names in the photo processing world, none of them offer the versatility that Photomatix does. Not only are there far more processing options, but the results are far better. The batch editing feature is a life saver when processing a lot of photos.

**What do you dislike about Photomatix Pro?**

Its RAW editing capability seems to be lacking, and I would like to see a few more fusion options, over tone mapping. Some of the sliders could go a little further

**Recommendations to others considering Photomatix Pro:**

After testing Photoshop, the new Lightroom HDR, and Google's NIK HDR, and others, Photomatix pro is still the best, most versatile professional option

**What problems is Photomatix Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since integrating HDR into our business photography, like many photographers it started out a little too over processed. Which can be fun, but isn't appreciated as much. After learning the program over years however, the results have become striking, yet subtle in a way that isn't obvious.

  ### 36. An intriguing HDR program that can aid in bring out the life of a photo

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bruce E. | Digital Media Constultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2016

**What do you like best about Photomatix Pro?**

Photomatix Pro is a relatively easy HDR program for combining multiple photo exposure sets and editing tone mapping effects on photos. While its not completely polished as other editors, it can be integrated with Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. The program really makes it easy to produce some interesting effects, some which may look quite good and at other times not so great. The program is moderately fast and can work with both jpeg and raw file formats which can be a plus.

**What do you dislike about Photomatix Pro?**

The interface leaves a great deal to be desired. The program has an interface that feels outdated and could use some work. It can also be less than intuitive to use. it really takes some tinkering with the settings to get good results. Often photos come out looking too vibrant with the basic settings.

**Recommendations to others considering Photomatix Pro:**

Definitely consider looking at alternatives and trying out a demo of the program before making a purchase.

**What problems is Photomatix Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The program works fairly well with raw files and this has helped with photo editing purposes. On the other hand, it can also help produce extra effects such as HDR tone mapping that are harder to create in other programs.

  ### 37. advanced HDR software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amir N. | Product Development Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2016

**What do you like best about Photomatix Pro?**

HDR has become very popular in the last few years and hdrsoft Photomatix was one of the first and most advanced HDR creation apps available.
it support either raw or jpeg files, but for the best quality you should use raw.
you can do processing to the files before the HDR merge, such as noise reduction and eliminate ghosting if there was movement between shots.
in the main interface you can either choose from preset hdr templates or select your own settings, normally I start with a template and customize it
I find Photomatix to be the most advanced hdr software i have used with endless customization options.
free trial is available.

**What do you dislike about Photomatix Pro?**

I think currently the biggest problem with Photomatix is that google released the very good Nik HDR Efex pro for free, and while it is not as good imo, it is still a good hdr app.
I find the performance to be sluggish, mainly on a not very powerful machines. I also think more presets would be welcomed.
the interface takes time to learn, but, it is not overly complex.
the pricing was reasonable until last month when Nik became free...

**Recommendations to others considering Photomatix Pro:**

If you get the trial, use it on a fast PC.
compare with nik hdr efex

**What problems is Photomatix Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have tried photoshop own hdr, nik and I im constantly getting the best results with Photomatix.
make sure to have a powerful computer with a supported GPU to enjoy working with it.
