## About Phalcon
A full-stack PHP framework delivered as a C-extension

## Phalcon Reviews
  ### 1. Best ever framework for microservices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Himanshu V. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Phalcon?**

Router is the best part which I have extensively used for rest apis

**What do you dislike about Phalcon?**

The view creation is not that much strong as in laravel blading engine

**What problems is Phalcon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microservices architecture

  ### 2. Phalcon is best framework to use in your project.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ketan A. | Sr. PHP Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Phalcon?**

Personally I like this framework the best.

Much like in life, a big challenge in programming is keeping a good balance between order and freedom. This framework is very well balanced in this respect. Basically if you're a cool, easy-going and fun individual, this framework is made in your style.

It is light, fast, minimal, flexible, intuitive, good for projects of all sizes, and is stable yet growing quickly. Is it new and missing some trivial things? Yes. Can those things be fixed with a little effort? Yes.

Another awesome thing about Phalcon is Zephir. With it you can now write PHP extensions pretty much in PHP (used to be in C). Phalcon itself is written in Zephir. So, this isn't just another competing framework but an effort at something bigger and I think that is important to consider too.

**What do you dislike about Phalcon?**

I personally can not find any at the moment

**Recommendations to others considering Phalcon:**

Yes definitely, it's a very good framework to use in every kind of project.

**What problems is Phalcon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is light, fast, minimal, flexible, intuitive, good for projects of all sizes.

  ### 3. A great REST API tool for me

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stanimir G. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2020

**What do you like best about Phalcon?**

Speed is what Phalcon brings to the table. Being compiled as a PHP module certainly makes it the fastest framework around.
It is capable to deal with a vast amount of queries and utilizes not much resources.

**What do you dislike about Phalcon?**

The fact that the framework is a PHP module is both a blessing and a curse. For an example you can't use it on any shared hosting provider (they might not have it installed). I used it a few years ago and remember quite a lot of bugs, which aren't always solvable if you don't want to dig into Zephir, because that's what it's written in.

**Recommendations to others considering Phalcon:**

Phalcon is a great tool to get the job done. However, it is not what's "modern" nowadays - other frameworks use bundles, automated tools, etc.
But if you are looking to get the best speed and need something simple and fast - Phalcon is a great choice.

**What problems is Phalcon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Phalcon was chosen when we were rewriting a website. The main problem was that it was slow. We picked Phalcon because of its speed and combined it with Aerospike about when PHP 7 came out. Needless to say the speed and the loads the server could take could not be compared to anything else.

  ### 4. Review on Phalcon Framework as a Web Developer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajalakshmi L. | Web Application Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Phalcon?**

Phalcon is really very useful and easy to understand.
The easiest framework to grasp for new developers also.
Installation is also simple and easy by using commands.
It has many built-in functions to save the programmer a lot of time, for example, routing, query builder, views etc.
Can also make our own Structure based on our convenience and very easy to use with MVC structure and Rest API.
Performance is also good by using Phalcon.

Thanks to Phalcon Community.

**What do you dislike about Phalcon?**

Phalcon framework has a less number of videos comparing others I think so. Other than that nothing bad comes in my mind.

**What problems is Phalcon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Started to Integrate with other applications. Will be easy with Phalcon I think. Not yet completed.

  ### 5. My experience with Phalcon

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Phalcon?**

What I really liked is the performance and the speed.
It uses the MVC design patters which is a plus for me.
The ORM is very intuitive.
The documentation is very detailed and well structured.
I have experience with Zend-like framework and I found a lot of similarities.

**What do you dislike about Phalcon?**

You should have knowledge in C if you want to understand how some things work.
As it is distributed as extension there are an additional installations on a deployment server except from having PHP installed.
The migrations were not well documented.

**Recommendations to others considering Phalcon:**

They should definitely give it a chance:
 - easy to learn
 - high performance
 - very good documentation

What else do you need to start using it?

**What problems is Phalcon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Phalcon for the creation of an ERP system for the legal authorities.
I wanted to use an open source framework.
I realized that the learning curve of Phalcon is very gradual and I was able to write well structured code in less than a week.

  ### 6. Speed

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajendra W. | Sr WordPress Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Phalcon?**

I was amazed with the speed of the framework. Built as a C extension it is really shaping up well. What I loved about this framework is you're not forced to any particular folder structure, you're your master.

**What do you dislike about Phalcon?**

Don't know why this framework is still uncovered in other platforms and still way fewer developers and contributions. When I discovered about this framework, there were fewer developers using this framework and the community was still growing slowly.

**Recommendations to others considering Phalcon:**

At least you should try once. It's not that hard to use if you are familiar with the MVC structure. You are free to use your own directory structures and do whatever you want.

**What problems is Phalcon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used this framework for clients who asks for speed and are care less about what is the internal structure of the codes.

  ### 7. Nice than I expected.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JinMing J. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Phalcon?**

Easy to learn is why I think it is good.

In my sight, whoever is familiar with basic knowledge in PHP/MySQL can learn Phalcon.

**What do you dislike about Phalcon?**

It has MVC structures like Laravel, CI and other frameworks, but compared to them, I think it is a bit of lack of routering features.
In order to improve this function, it would have to be a structure and syntax similar to that of Laravel, I think.
They have already become familiar with many developers and Beginners and are recognized as a reasonable option.

**What problems is Phalcon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating a new website.

  ### 8. Meals booking service with PhalconPHP

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammed M. | Product Development Professional, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Phalcon?**

The #1 reason why I fancied phalconPHP framework was the fact that its VERY FAST! as a seasoned PHP developer I liked the idea of being able to deliver even faster solutions without leaving my preferred PHP language.

**What do you dislike about Phalcon?**

The only thing I didn't like about this framework is the lack of resources, the community is still not mature enough and I faced cases where answer to a specific problem wasn't actually working, I had to dig deeper to find out why, but I think the team is working hard to improve their documentation and hence help the community grow.

**What problems is Phalcon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again, it's the speed, I'm amazed with how fast this framework is.

  ### 23. It was a nice experience, the fastest framework by far

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William C. | Analista de Procesos, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Phalcon?**

It is much faster than other frameworks, specially when handling a large amount of information, in managing arrays with thousands of records and adding these records to databases

**What do you dislike about Phalcon?**

Routing is not as intuitive as it is in other frameworks, for example, in Laravel; the speed feel can be lost if external libraries written in PHP are used, since the modules are written in C, it is more complicated to write native modules and the amount of resources is limited compared to other frameworks

**Recommendations to others considering Phalcon:**

Although Phalcon is not the most complete framework, I can say it is the fastest that exists so far, I would recommend Phalcon for systems that require a large memory or processing use due to the handling of a
large amount of information, or a large number of users.

**What problems is Phalcon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If a company can afford a C developer to create native modules (such as handling PDF or Office documents), phalcon could become a powerful tool to help in different aspects of business administration. With Phalcon I have been able to create reports with a large amount of data and export it to different formats in a considerably less time to other alternatives, also, in proof of concept, we saw that it is potentially faster than other frameworks in the management of a large amount of concurrent users, which leads us to the possibility of using it in the future to migrate several systems already developed to Phalcon

  ### 24. Powerful PHP framework

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor T. | Software Engineer Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Phalcon?**

Phalcon is implemented as an extension written in C in order to optimize performance. This aims to increase execution speed and reduce resource usage with the goal of handling more requests per second than comparable frameworks primarily written in PHP.

**What do you dislike about Phalcon?**

A disadvantage of this approach is that administrative (root) access on the server is required to be able to install Phalcon by building a custom binary or using a precompiled one.

**What problems is Phalcon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Phalcon is a complete framework, simple to use and extremely fast, which is not easy to achieve.

  ### 25. Using this framework for developing API for mobile application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Moch. Faisal R. | Full Stack Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2016

**What do you like best about Phalcon?**

fast performance easy installation and simple mod rewrite .htaccess. Use for delivering API in fast pace.

**What do you dislike about Phalcon?**

because it's documentation and tutorial still not much as codeIgniter or zend it's hard to find the answer of developing problems.

**Recommendations to others considering Phalcon:**

for high scalability is recommended using Phalcon because it's performance.

**What problems is Phalcon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

API JSON for android and IOS from web server. CRUD and REST API.

  ### 26. Very nice and good in performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rolly Maulana A. | Marketing Evangelist, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2016

**What do you like best about Phalcon?**

Small in application skeleton. Lighweight in process. Have a cache in query database

**What do you dislike about Phalcon?**

must install and config the php.ini , not every hosting support that

**Recommendations to others considering Phalcon:**

I thinks, its the best php framework i ever meet. Small in skeleton and code, but powerfull on feature. Save your memory and processor. Of course its native c compiled php extension dude!!!

**What problems is Phalcon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Performance to load website and database
