The Patsnap platform makes patent search incredibly easy and more focused, efficiently extracting all the relevant patents compared to other patent search platforms. The ability to build complex search queries, combine multiple search queries, and utilize rule-based analysis has been incredibly helpful in IP landscape analysis. Upon reviewing my earlier patent searches, I found the vast array of filter options to be a key feature, making it much easier to narrow down the results. I do dislike the limitations placed on standard subscribers, such as restrictions on report generation and the file download limit. These constraints can make it difficult to fully leverage the platform’s capabilities, especially when working on large projects or requiring detailed reports. What I like most about Patsnap is that it allows patent searchers to use multiple search strategies, all of which are combinable at the same time.

Personally, I really like starting my patent invalidation searches using the patent number, and then refining through keywords, CPCs, and, even better, using the semantic similarity filter.

In addition to that, the fact that the different patent fields are customizable is great. I also use the image search a lot, and I like being able to see the list of results and several of the main patent images at once.

I find it extremely valuable to be able to view the patent description, text, and images all at once, as it provides a clear, immediate overview of key details. Another highly beneficial feature is the direct comparison between originally filed claims and those ultimately granted, as well as the automatic linking of references with their descriptions. Although there is room for improvement in the wildcard functionality within the Highlighters and in recalling previously performed complex searches, these are relatively minor points compared to the overall strengths of the platform. PatSnap makes searching really simple. It has all search options you would expect, and additionally they offer AI based Semantic Search which works quite well. Use of filters works also well. There are multiple options available that highly reduce the time to analyze patents, such as multiple view options, automatic translation, and automatic labeling of images.
