What I like best is that you can just paste in a paragraph describing a client’s idea and get quality results back almost instantly. It saves a massive amount of time since we don't have to spend ages building complex keyword or Boolean strings. The platform is fast, and the layout makes it really straightforward to scan through the patents, see the highlights, and pick out exactly what we need for our projects. The platform has a massive amount of features, but for our specific workflow, it can honestly feel like a bit too much functionality. Since we mostly just use the core semantic search, a lot of the advanced tools and options can make the interface look a bit cluttered for what we need. What problems is PatSeer solving and how is that benefiting you? We use it primarily for pre-design work to map out the landscape for our clients. It helps our design team spot potential patent infringements early on, so they can work around them and find alternative solutions before getting too deep into development. The platform offers high-quality translations for non-English patents, which greatly simplifies global research. Most patent PDFs are easily accessible, making it convenient to conduct detailed reviews. PatSeer also provides straightforward access to graphical insights, including patent filing trends, applicant trends, and various analytics. The search operators for constructing key strings are user-friendly and intuitive; after consulting the PatSeer Search Manual, building effective search queries becomes much easier. For chemical searches, synonyms can be quickly retrieved by entering the chemical name, which notably enhances search efficiency. Although PatSeer provides a Non-Patent Literature (NPL) search option, I have found that the results are frequently incomplete. Malleable in terms of evalution fields, such as rating, free fields, etc. on a per-project basis. Continously improving GUI and user experience. Broad range of keyboard short-cuts. Minor displaying bugs with regard to some functions used by experienced users only. It seems that the dev team sometimes lacks input from active users which bring deficiencies forward. Many features make PatSeer unique (Like Chemical lookup, search term translator, PDF Kart etc. ). The Chemical look-up feature is my favorite. I often use this feature.
