Students rely heavily on making sure a transcript arrives....and if it doesn't then it could cost them thousands in scholarships lost. **What problems is Parchment solving and how is that benefiting you?** They are supposed to solve the problem of delivering a product (Transcripts) for the customer...but they don't do that as it is not tracked or guaranteed that it actually happened. ### 2. I want to be able to update the mailing address of the Diploma before I release the Hold. We have been noticing Diplomas being printed crooked. I was aware of 5 out of 172 from August 2024 Graduation. Transcript orders have the green check mark, everything matches the student record, but the order is not fulfilled. **What problems is Parchment solving and how is that benefiting you?** Fulfilling Transcript and Diploma orders. Whether it is an issue with an order or a request for an enhancement, the response time and quality of answer has been prompt and thorough. We have quarterly meetings with our account manager. These meetings allow us to discuss any challenges we are having with Parchment processing. Because our account manager is from a Registrar background, they are able to understand our workflow and provide insights on using Parchment products. The resources that Parchment provides such as training, articles, webinars and blogs have been very helpful to our office. **What do you dislike about Parchment?** While it sounds petty, the short amount of inactivity time before being logged off is an annoyance. As someone from a small school with many interruptions, constantly logging in is cumbersome. With that, it would be nice if Parchment allowed an institution a bit more control over the look and feel of the product both for the office and student. **What problems is Parchment solving and how is that benefiting you?** Parchment allows us to quicly service the needs of our students. When once, we were printing and mailing transcripts now the processes can be done electronically. ### 4. Parchment offers end users a convenient and easy way to request needed transcripts. We have embedded the Parchment link in our website. The process on the admin side is seamless as well. Highly recommend the product. **What do you dislike about Parchment?** Unfortunately, our records are not digital; not a Parchment issue, but does involve quite a bit of work to manually upload paper docs. **What problems is Parchment solving and how is that benefiting you?** A secure convenient way to send former student their transcripts. We started using them to assist with our transcript services and have been pleased with their services to the institution, staff, and, most importantly, our students. Using their platforms has been easy over the years and continues to improve with innovations as Parchment embodies the philosophy of continual improvements and innovation. Our students also prefer and enjoy the single sign-on through their campus to access their credentials. However, the most significant impact is the 'wallet-style' approach to credentialing, where students can access their credentials from all institutions (Parchment schools) without having to log into each institution. This is incredibly useful for alumni and transfer students. Finally, their customer support, or rather customer care, is top-notch! The account managers are responsive, proactive, and supportive in hearing and relaying the needs of the member organizations. Parchment has been open in their approach to innovation and does well to listen to their partner schools. **What do you dislike about Parchment?** New features and upgrades can present challenges for institution implementation. However, as long as there is coordination and awareness, any implementation or integration challenges are quickly resolved. **What problems is Parchment solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Parchment for credentialling management and distribution. They helped us resolve a workload challenge and have allowed us to focus on other aspects of student record management. ### 9. As far as the Diploma service, I love that our students are able to get a digital diploma for their use for electronic submissions. The look of our diplomas are very professional and classy looking with Parchment. **What do you dislike about Parchment?** Not so much a dislike but we do experience slow responses on the website when we're uploading documents. **What problems is Parchment solving and how is that benefiting you?** Decreased time in ordering, packeting and mailing diplomas. These used to be in-house before my tenure and when I arrived, we immediately moved this process to Parchment. This has cut down our time to get diplomas mailed, staff workload decreased and a much more professional face to our diplomas. Transcript ordering used to be handled in-house with the hassle of walking payment to our business office for each order so making the change to Parchment allowed all of these transactions to be done online with no involvement of our business office. This also has saved us on product needs for in house printing such as official paper, toner, maintanence, overtime work time pay. ### 10. It is easy to use, and I am very happy with the service I receive. It was very easy to implement. I use it daily for processing transcript requests. Whenever I have had an issue or question, the customer support has been excellent, but I have had very few issues with using Parchment. I really like receiving confirmation emails of transcripts being sent, this has proven very helpful. **What do you dislike about Parchment?** The only downside is the cost and increasing prices for my school district. I continue to requisition for this service at my school because of the time benefits for me. One other issue is that not all colleges or universities retrieve student transcripts in a timely manner. After processing a transcript request, I still receive feedback from students that the college doesn't have their transcript. To deal with this situation, I screenshot the "history" showing the transcript being processed. Although, not difficult, I wish I did not have to prove transcripts were sent. **What problems is Parchment solving and how is that benefiting you?** It saves time with processing of education credential requests. I know that the correct credentials are uploaded and the process is simple and easy. ### 11. Also, uploading the test scores and letters of recommendation is relatively easy. We can go in and see when the documents were sent to a college/university, employer, etc and most importantly when they were downloaded since it always seems to be our fault when documents don't get there in 10 minutes. We have a history that also saves us because again we can say well College A downloaded on this day so it's there it just may not be uploaded into there system. Parchment is quick to respond if we have an issue. I don't use Parchment everyday but our Registrar is in the system on a daily basis, sometimes multiple times during the day. Since Parchment has expanded the documents we can add to the system that helps. Before we had to find other ways to send test scores and letters of recommendation. Now it's in Parchment. **What do you dislike about Parchment?** I haven't encountered anything that isn't helpful. Sometimes I do have difficulty finding a student who I know has created an account in the "History" section but if that's the only issue I have, I'm happy. I just go about it in another way. **What problems is Parchment solving and how is that benefiting you?** They've solved ours by expanding the documents we can upload. ### 12. Parchment gave us great customer support when we started and continues to give us great customer service. Anytime we have issues we can email them and they are very responsive to our needs. Our registrar checks Parchment each day and because of how easy Parchment is to use, this only takes a few minutes each day. Parchment is an amazing service to offer to High School students. The first year we implemented Parchment, we still had students and families calling in June and July to order transcripts. Many times the families would be frusturated because of the vacation schedules of school personnel in June and July. Our families and students have found Parchment very easy to use and they love the ability to use the program. The ease of ordering a transcript to be sent to a school, scholarship opportunity, or NCAA is amazing. Students can do this from the comfort of their computer whether than having to remember to go to the registrar sometime during the school day. **What do you dislike about Parchment?** I have not found a downside to using Parchment. I wish schools in other countries used Parchment so we could get international transcripts more easily for our students moving into our area. However, that is a wish of an administrator and not a fault of Parchment. **What problems is Parchment solving and how is that benefiting you?** Parchment is allowing us to send transcripts to colleges for our students. This helps ease the frustration of students / parents having to call or come to the school to order transcripts. This also allows the student and school to track the transcript to be sure it is at the school. ### 14. Colleagues at Parchment have listened to our feedback to add features and improvments to transcript services, and most recently we had a very smooth implementation of the digital badge service for our institution. Our partners at Parchment are always available when we need them, and even when we don't need them for anything in particular they are checking in to make sure everything is going well. **What do you dislike about Parchment?** We have not encountered many downsides since beginning with Parchment, but as with any large-scale changes such as switching transcript services to a new vendor there are going to be hiccups. Our initial implementation process was bumpy, but the response from Parchment was swift to not only fix any issues we encountered but to also improve the overall process. **What problems is Parchment solving and how is that benefiting you?** We do not have the capability on our campus to send electronic transcripts securely, so Parchment allows us to send transcripts quickly via a secure email service for our students. In addition to that, Parchment's services are available 24/7 when our staff would only be available during working hours to send any requests. With Parchment our students can order on weekends and holidays, and if they need a paper copy they have the option to mail a transcript as well. It has eased the burden on our staff to send out thousands of transcripts each year while making the process of ordering and sending transcripts more convenient for students. ### 15. There needs to be a more clear option for a BASIC account. Also linking to other schools. With DoD, users could indicate the template code in the csv file. That being said some of the almuni have to be scanned, but still saves money and time because we can do it at our convenience in a timely manner of course. In the past, it was a difficult, unsuccessful task. With Parchment, it was fast, effective, and efficient. It was clear to me what was going to be happening and what I needed to do to send those credits to certain colleges and to myself. All of that quickly and clearly. The problem was, for years, that this process was lengthy, unclear, difficult, and often unsuccessful. Parchment solved it by creating technology that gets the job done quickly and successfully, and keeps the user informed throughout the process. It is highly user-friendly and practically thinks for you. I've spent a lot of time this fall calling universities to alert them they have a transcript available for download. They are surprised when I call with the DID number and typically respond they didn't know a document was sent.
