**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle W. | Senior Software Engineer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Panic Transmit?**

👍 What I like best about Panic Transmit is its remarkable ability to consolidate all my FTP connections, Storage Buckets, and File servers into a single, intuitive hub. This streamlined approach to login and administration is an absolute game-changer for me. 🌐💼 Being able to personalize icons adds a touch of personalization, and the cherry on top is the fantastic feature that lets me seamlessly carry over my settings across different computers. 🖥️🔗

**What do you dislike about Panic Transmit?**

👎 If one aspect of Panic Transmit leaves me slightly wanting, it's the local file browser. While the product is exceptional, the option to completely remove the local file browser would be a welcomed enhancement. 📂🚫 As a habitual Finder user, I often rely on drag-and-drop directly from Finder for my file transfers, and removing this local file browser would align perfectly with my workflow.

**What problems is Panic Transmit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

🔧 Panic Transmit elegantly solves the challenge of swiftly accessing file servers to validate the presence of files from automated services. 📂🔍 This functionality is a lifeline for me, as it significantly expedites my workflow. Instead of wading through complex menus or struggling with multiple interfaces, Panic Transmit's seamless integration allows me to verify the existence of crucial files on various servers effortlessly. 💼🚀 This saves me valuable time and assures the reliability of my automated processes, enabling me to maintain efficiency and confidence in my work. 🕒📊

  ### 2. The best file transfer app for your Mac

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thibault L. | iOS developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Panic Transmit?**

Panic Transmit is an app which exist since several years and Panic too. You can be confident that the app will not be abandonned next year. So you can buy it quietly without fear of losing your money.
Its reputation is well established and its stability too. Panic is a pillar among software publishers on macOS!

**What do you dislike about Panic Transmit?**

There's nothing I dislike in Transmit. It responds to all my needs.

**What problems is Panic Transmit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You have to transfer files on a FTP or a cloud storage (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, box, Backblaze...)? You can do it effotlessly!

  ### 3. Great simple file transfer utility with power when needed

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Panic Transmit?**

It's reliable, simple, and easy to use – but also has the power needed to accomplish more complex tasks to save me time. I especially like the ability to connect to all types of servers and accounts including cloud accounts from Dropbox, OneDrive, and Google and transfer files between those and SFTP accounts. The directory comparison and sync feature is incredibly time saving as well.

**What do you dislike about Panic Transmit?**

Panic is a great development company, but like all of us have limited resources and it feels like most of their attention is on other applications other than Transmit. I'm not sure of the future of this application and wouldn't be surprised if it were discontinued in the future.

**Recommendations to others considering Panic Transmit:**

Is a great app for my limited needs; crucial that it isn't a subscription business model; but I'm not clear nor confident on the future of this app and the developer's commitment to it.

**What problems is Panic Transmit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transmit meets most of my needs for managing files and directories across multiple online locations as well as basic code and file editing on files on those servers.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Panic Transmit?**

Their apps on Mac/iOS are top of the class, one of the few that can seamlessly integrate between platforms efficiently. Transmit is used on a daily basis to transfer files and it's been quite neat. The UI is eye friendly and it works well on the MacBook and the iPad.

**What do you dislike about Panic Transmit?**

The price, oh boy its expensive. The thing is you need to purchase other suite of their apps such as Coda along with Transmit and they are expensive. Spending $20 on an app per platform is bit too much for the average user, but its like Apple. They are expensive, yet they are best at the game.

**What problems is Panic Transmit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transferring files on Mac and iOS to remote servers. It is quite good when you are uploading files such as to SFTP servers specially on iOS when its limited, but transmit has been quite good.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Panic Transmit?**

I love that I have the ability to use this software to download larger files, especially for video editing. It's become a valuable tool to work with people across the country

**What do you dislike about Panic Transmit?**

I'd like to be able to see a higher number of files downloaded in the Activity pane so I can have a better idea of what's being downloaded. There have been some connection timeouts and when that does happen, there is no option to restart that individual upload or download, I'd need to manually search for that file and re-implement it.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Panic Transmit?**

Being able to sync my address book between home and work has really made things easier.

**What do you dislike about Panic Transmit?**

The older version had a dedicated transfer window. Now it's a popover that won't stay up and doesn't give quite as much information. I prefer the old display.

**Recommendations to others considering Panic Transmit:**

The last FTP application you will ever need to buy.

**What problems is Panic Transmit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use several FTP, SFTP, and SSH connections for file transfer every day. You still can't beat secure direct connections for security and convenience. I can get files to clients and verify the delivery myself without having to wait on them to confirm receipt.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Panic Transmit?**

Transit was the very first FTP client I ever paid for, and ever since using it I haven't looked back. The product has a good UI that is easy to use and the product is well maintained.

**What do you dislike about Panic Transmit?**

The switch from using a free to a paid software can always feel a little painful, this product is honestly worth it. I haven't updated to the newest version because I don't want to pay again - but I'm sure that it has great features.

**Recommendations to others considering Panic Transmit:**

I'd say make the leap and upgrade to the paid FTP.

**What problems is Panic Transmit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a lot of the clients I work with - we are working on small or old websites where FTP is still the easiest way to access and transfer files. Transmit makes doing that simple and fast.
