I use Originality.AI to check my students' work to ensure there's no plagiarism and that they didn't use AI. It helps me identify students who did the work on their own, those who used AI assistance, and those who let AI do the work for them. I really like the clear and easy-to-understand analysis of the data submitted. The originality score is a huge help, plus identifying the parts of the students' work where AI was used helps me better understand how they used AI. The support person, Ellie, provided clear and concise answers when I had questions, which made me more confident in trying Originality.AI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the fact that I can download a document that I can send to the student, and then the student can argue with me as they do whether they use AI or not. Also, the initial setup of Originality.AI was very easy, very intuitive, and I would say, guiding in terms of how to do it and how to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My concern is always accuracy, so I use more than one AI detection site. Approximately now, I use five, just because I want to present the student with proof of their use of AI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It’s a really solid pre-publish checkpoint for my content in terms of quality and risk, especially when multiple people have worked on the same piece. It also makes it much easier to manage freelancers and keep everything consistent. I especially love the plagiarism check and the ability to scan websites, since it saves me a lot of time. Their customer service is fast and great. I have been dealing with Perla and she’s been incredibly responsive, patient, and genuinely helpful. She answered my questions quickly, clarified what I was seeing in the reports, and made the whole process feel super easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It can sometimes penalize “clean” human writing

Straightforward, structured, SEO-style copy (especially intros, definitions, can get flagged even when it’s genuinely human. That’s annoying if your style is naturally concise and conventional. Could be better at telling you why something got categorized as AI content Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One area that needs improvement is the credit management system; I’ve noticed my credits sometimes disappear or drop unexpectedly without usage, which can be frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think one thing that could be improved is the token regeneration. It would really help if the team could give free tokens on a daily basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
