"We use it for Oracle fusion middleware family and Databases"

What do you like best?

Oracle Enterprise Manager provides a single point of control for your applications and databases. It provides out of box automation in form of monitoring templates and reporting templates. I also love the new Administrative Group introduced in 13.1 version onward.

It's a single point for patch control for all your deployments being monitored through OEM.

What do you dislike?

While OEM makes monitoring super convenient and eliminates scope of human/scripting errors, administration using OEM requires special skills.

Also, OEM is resouce intensive and uses flash for loading pages with heavy charts and diagrams on it. This is quite slow. I have heard that in the new versions, Oracle is planning to use Jet instead of Flash to handle the slow page loading problems.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

There are multiple versions of the product available at the same time. We usually prefer to go one minor version less, since the most latest one is still being tested and not stable version.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We currently use it for monitoring our large number of Oracle and MS SQL databases as well as fusion middleware products.such as WebLogic, Tuxedo and Oracle BPM.

"Monitoring and Administration for Oracle Enterprise Products"

What do you like best?

Oracle Enterprise Manager is a sophisticated monitoring and administration tool. It's easy to install and easy to add targets (monitoring targets). I like the security administration and patch recommendations. You don't have to look for required patches, OEM does it for you based on the targets you have added into it.

What do you dislike?

It's a resource intensive product. It uses a lot of CPU and memory. Also, licensing is complicated, apart from Base version, most components are individually licensed.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's an expensive product but if you have already purchased an enterprise license for product like Oracle Database, then you get to use OEM Base version for free.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using Oracle Enterprise Manager to perform real-time monitoring and administration of our enterprise databases.

"Oracle's on-premise administration and monitoring platform"

What do you like best?

Oracle Enterprise Manager is a highly sophisticated administration and monitoring platform for all Oracle deployments in your organization. It is accessed via a browser which makes it even more convenient as client machine where OEM needs to be accessed doesn't have to be a specific platform. It has great components for patching and updates, monitoring etc. which over time makes you use it on daily basis.

What do you dislike?

You .may have to buy additional license for OEM based on what components of OEM you are using. It is resouce intensive and requires specialized professionals to install and manage OEM.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Great tool for

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using OEM to manage and monitor our Oracle Database servers. We are able to monitor both physical system resources and database systems from one place. Also, OEM basic version is free if you have Oracle Database Enterprise license.

"Oracle is a product we use"

What do you like best?

I like how it is easy to use and navigate. Using this software with my colleagues has been very efficient for our company to come together and solve or problems easily. We will continue to use this product going forward and keep the positivity going. I like also having additional support in case our company has a question or a flaw to complain about. Customer service is always available for any help needed with the software.

What do you dislike?

Something that I don't like is that it can be slow from time to time but other than that the services have been fairly nice to my company and myself. Speeds up our costs and production very quickly which is also a very nice addition to have.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I highly recommend for other users using this product it helps a lot of business needs and makes items very efficient.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Well working together with my coworkers helps problem solving. A lot of benefits that I have seen have sped up cost times and made ordering a lot more faster and efficient.

"Oracle Enterprise Manager, a way to manage your hard&soft stuff."

What do you like best?

The thing that I love about Oracle Enterprise Manager is that you get a real complete dashboard where you can manage all your Oracle stuff, in a simple way. In the bussiness I worked a year ago, we had some cloud services attached to Oracle Enterprise Manager. It's a good way to go. Not the best, but it offer ton of services in one app, with an acceptable UI/UX.

What do you dislike?

I dislike the desing and sometimes, some options are chunky, becoming in a little bit poor user experience. But in the other hand, there are really useful options in this software. Maybe the learning curve can be tall for some people but once you learn where are the elements you have to use for your projects, Oracle Enterprise Manager becomes a good way to manage your software.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Study all the possibilities of your bussines. If you are going to use cloud services, data warehouse, middleware, virtualization, performance testing or lifecycle management, Oracle Enterprise Manager could be a great option to be in your list of considerations for your bussiness and your new projects.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The main thing we manage with Oracle Enterprise Manager are cloud databases.

"super powerful software"

What do you like best?

i am not a current user of this software. i switched industry couple of years ago.But i used it for many years and i am best suited to do this review .It was very reliable . It has all the support from oracle. It is widely used in our industry. We were easily able to find oracle experts on job sites because company was growing. Overall it was an amazing experience.good part is that it is very compatible with non-oracle vendors.

oracle tools can be bit pricey. it takes a lot to time to get your money worth.it is a process hog. it takes up alot of computers processing power.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

go ahead with it. it has very straight forward installation. if you run into problem there is ton of online support and very good detailed documentations.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"Love Oracle Enterprise Manager"

What do you like best?

Time savings, reduction of human error, don't need rare skills anymore, Centralized console for single point of management, Automated ("lights out") system administration

What do you dislike?

It is an incredibly complex and requires specialized skills to install and maintain. Simple functionality like one to many mapping of users to groups could be done which would be a useful feature to a DBA/Admin while adding new users. Recovery of logs needs to be more user-friendly. Whenever we face a system downtime issue, exact logs are a little difficult to find. It can get really tedious to point out the problem when looking at generic logs.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It has been robust, graphical and easy to use. We have been able to manage the security of users in a great way using OEM. Every user can be assigned to a group which is a useful feature.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"Oracle Enterprise Manager Review"

What do you like best?

It kept a log of all our issue tickets going back many years.

Oracle made it easy to collaborate on issue tickets and work with my team members.

It offered a number of features for formatting and inserting images and links, to make our issue tickets resemble an email.

Oracle helped our department to delegate issue tickets and monitor each other's projects.

What do you dislike?

The search function was very poor, which made it difficult to find our issue tickets in RightNow.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The Reply feature was kind of messy at times, it was difficult to find out who originally sent in tickets and reply all to people.

It could have looked a bit sleeker, it looked somewhat outdated in the RightNow function.

"The need to have Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c"

What do you like best?

In the management of environments that are constituted by a very complex information technology infrastructure and with a wide variety of services and solutions (Oracle and other providers), it is important to consider obtaining an administration, management and security tool that presents a centralized approach and that assumes the responsibility of monitoring each of the components, services, systems and sessions, in addition to managing the status of servers, databases, backup process executions, replicas, etc., which supports administrators of databases and infrastructure in facilitating the centralization of solutions and identification of environmental incidents. This tool is Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c

What do you dislike?

The use of the tool in the simple management scenario, as presented by the manufacturer, has a friendly and simple interface, I consider it easy to learn, very intuitive and always guiding the user from the general to the specific, their Graphs are very useful in identifying components and services. However, when it comes to complex configurations in the development of monitoring processes, configuration of replicas, execution of planned works, configuration of alarm thresholds and their corresponding self-management it is required to incorporate advanced training to users and administrators by Oracle. University in addition to widely recommend the accompaniment and incorporation of specialized advice in the management of the tool and that endorses the certification of the platform and its processes. This causes incurring high additional costs for the use of the tool.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I recommend the use of this tool in environments of any size and complexity, I have obtained benefits for its centralized approach, extensibility in the diversity of Oracle solutions and other manufacturers. It has an additional amount of benefits that simplify and optimize time and cost.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I highly recommend the use of this tool in environments of any size and complexity, I have obtained benefits for its centralized approach, extensibility in the diversity of Oracle solutions such as RDBMS, OCR, Fusion Middleware, OEM Job Scheduler, load and performance reports generated by the AWR, ADDM, ASH viewers, domain scalability in cloud configurations and an additional amount of benefits that simplify and optimize time and cost of administration for the company.

"Database lifeline"

What do you like best?

The best part is we can manage the Oracle databases fro mthe dashboard itself , a lot of features , the more i explore the more i am amazed , The database query tuning is one feaure i have always used. If the queries are running slow or the application is sluggish, OEM is the first place we login ot find more insights. The patching features is really boon for DBA's , it helps us to manage the databases and keep them updated centrally. i also use it to monitor the applications like PeopleSoft , we have created Beacons that are used to monitor and check the login for The peopleSoft applications , we are managing hundreds of Oracle Databases and multiple PeopleSoft application instances using OEM

What do you dislike?

Intuitive clicking or drill down , like database performance analyzer does , i do not like the way information is presented in different tabs and links and navigation , i need to remember where i need to go to get what , i central drill down for complete information. Also the user interface is old and can be moreintuitive with minimum investment.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Please explore the product as it has many new feature in version 13

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

OEM helps us for patching , perfromance tuning and database issue resolution , there are multiple places and scenarios this has helped us , we use for issue resoltion ,alert setup and proactive monitoring

"Oracle Enterprise Manager - Improving with age"

What do you like best?

I have worked with OEM for several years monitoring various versions of Oracle and other products. I like that they continue to improve it and make it easier to use. It is also easier now to monitor other products with add-ins to the tool.

What do you dislike?

OEM has a steep learning curve. Not every thing operates the exact same way. It takes time and effort to set it up.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If Oracle is your primary platform, then this tool is a must. Not using it would be like driving your car without a dashboard. It was created initially for Oracle's Database engine, but now it can do so much more.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

OEM allows us to monitor our mission critical databases and servers. It allows us to be proactive by warning us of resource issues before they cause down time. It also helps us to tune poor performing code which is critical when processing large amounts of data.

"The best tool for integrating services and managing infrastructure components"

What do you like best?

It provides a web tool for control, monitoring and implementation, which facilitates these tasks since it is not necessary to install any additional product and can be done from anywhere with access to the network

What do you dislike?

Integrations with other Oracle products is relatively simple, if the goal is to integrate it with products from different vendors, it is likely to become very complicated or even not viable.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you want to improve performance, the scalability and security of your platform implements integration with other Oracle Fusion Middleware components

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

In my opinion as a database administrator and the business intelligence platform of the company, the integration of Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g and Oracle Business Intelligence 11g allowed us to manage and monitor the performance of BI from the same environment. Likewise, we make it easy to configure, test, implement, monitor, install patches and allow continuous availability, with superior security, scalability and query performance.

"good for monitoring Oracle"

What do you like best?

I think my favorite part is the ability to set up alerts. Monitoring Top activity and the interface to run the SQL advisor are what I use the most though.

What do you dislike?

I need to learn or it needs to be easier to run thing from the command line. Would be nice is connectors to other programs/applications/etc. worked as well as the Oracle side does.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Be advised it costs extra, as does the Diagnostic and tuning packages, but they are worth it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

General tuning using Top Activity and the SQl advisor. Also the interface for creating SQL Profiles and/or baselines. Along with other tools, have sped up batch jobs and help screens be quicker. Also use alerts. We have a couple of programs that need upgraded that flake out occasionally and use OEM to monitor those as well. Could probably use some other thing, but OEM is already set to go.

"Oracle Enterprise Manager - All in One Suite"

What do you like best?

Managing server and databases in one single platform with a relatively user friendly graphical user interface.

What do you dislike?

There are too many features scattered all over the platform, sometimes trying to look for certain items can be challenging.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is a good platform for managing all Oracle products and solutions.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Managing Oracle Databases and Linux Servers throughout an organization with over hundreds of instances. Using Oracle Enterprise Manager makes it easier and much simplified approach to control and manage these instances. This is extremely useful for someone who do not use command line execution, with the graphical user interface, it allows administrators to easily issue command and instruction to the database execution.

Also, with the capability to see all servers in one place, administrators can observe the status of the servers easily and also issuing commands with much less clicks rather than going into individual servers to manage them.

"Excellent APM for everyone!"

What do you like best?

This tool offers a great solution to integrate databases and keep control of every, including data, analytics and targets. Its security system provides great features in order to keep save everything under our controll. Also, implementation process flows easy and smooth. We started using this after a little bit of training and it was awesome to our professional experience and general management.

What do you dislike?

It's a robust tool that allow our team to build complex management system to integrate all data in just one place. Even though, is a littlle bit more expensive than other similar products and this may be a big deal to small companies. Take that into consideration before make an investment.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

When using OEM, you should considerer a little bit of training to properly take advantage of its multiple features. It's a great tool for beginners although it requires a little for of technical capabilities to improve results.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Its main benefit provided to us was its use as a resource to keep real time monitoring up to date without mistakes. As a team that uses this tool everyday, we haven't had any issue that we couldn't solve easily.

"Oracle Enterprise Manager-Must have data base watch dog"

What do you like best?

Easily display AWR reporting or ASH analytics. Integrates with Oracle support for patch download, applies patches. Can manages jobs in each instance using scheduler packages. Easy to Use.

What do you dislike?

Setup of default page gets lost at times.Licensing agreement is complex.Simple functionality like one to many mapping of users to groups could be done which would be a useful feature to a DBA/Admin while adding new users.

Recommendations to others considering the product

OEM has standard plugins available which will enable easy integration with third-party products. It is more of a luxury purchase in small shops with a limited budget. If the organization can afford it, it is the first tool they should buy.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Manages space in tablespaces, data files. Alerts set to your comfort level for warning critical thresholds. Running jobs to check for vulnerabilities.

"Enterprise manager which eases the monitoring for wide range of oracle databases"

What do you like best?

Oracle came up with the OEM in order to monitor database and other alerts from the server. Prior to 12c each database had to have one OEM installed and the number of OEM links will increase as the number of databases increase. In 12C oracle came up with a solution where we can monitor and set email alerts for unlimited databases by using just one OEM. It includede new features like host monitoring, creating groups, templates etc

What do you dislike?

I dont see any cons of such in OEM as it has been evolved in the best way

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We setup email alerts related to the oracle databases, host cpu alerts, mount point alerts, generating performance reports, creating groups,shutdown/startup databases

"Great for automating tasks and reporting."

What do you like best?

Being able to see which databases are on display, offers a quick reaction to problems.

What do you dislike?

The OEM architecture can be simplified so that the installations and configurations can be simple and direct. Complex installations require a long implementation time and increase the cost of implementation.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Oracle Enterprise Manager is suitable for an organization that uses multiple Oracle Product Suite and wants a single platform to manage the different Oracle products as well as any third-party products.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

You can also take precautionary actions based on alerts. This helps reduce the response time to errors and problems that may cause database inactivity and were our main problems.

"A powerful tool for *Free "

What do you like best?

I have been using Oracle Enterprise Manager since last 8 years of my Oracle DBA experience. Here are few of the many things that i love about OEM:

> Base Version of OEM is absolutely free given you already have licensed enterprise edition of Oracle database and tuning + diagnostic packs.

> It's POWERFUL. You can monitor database instances, listeners, hosts, storage (ASM), file systems, almost everything that you need to monitor and ensure your databases run smooth.

> Database administration is super easy when using OEM for lot of day to day activities like performance monitoring, diagnostics and alerts, user management etc. I can literally do all my DBA activities without having to login to individual database environments and without the hassle of maintaining all the SQL commands i need to achieve my tasks.

What do you dislike?

I love OEM but then there are few things, i don't appreciate about it.

First, It requires an intense knowledge of OEM both for installation and configuration. I don't mind it, most DBA's won't. But for someone who is just starting up with OEM, it can be super overwhelming.

Second, Given that OEM runs on top of Oracle WebLogic Server, the DBA also needs to have knowledge of WebLogic Server Administration. If Oracle can make it a little more seamless where DBA doesn't has to worry about WebLogic portion of the stack, it would be awesome.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using Oracle Enterprise Manager for monitoring and administering all are databases. Before OEM, we had to create hundreds of monitoring scripts to monitor all our databases for different scenarios of failure. This was tedious and not very reliable.

With OEM, monitoring and administration has become much more reliable and easy.

"HR nightmare"

What do you like best?

I like absolutely nothing about Oracle. Every time I have to log into it for necessary simple tasks I dread the outcome.

What do you dislike?

It operates like putting an IKEA table behind your back.Difficult to navigate, only works in explorer. There's an error in my record from 5 years ago that can't be removed. They are message making no sense and often can't be resolved. So perhaps this is an error on the part of the operator who sets it up, but if it's that difficult to set up it's not intuitive.I

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would not recommend using this product from job application which was extremely cumbersome through basic pay chart ask

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

No benefits. It's only used for basic HR tasks. It's a necessary evil. I struggle to create the minimum 40 characters trying to say something positive about this product. I'm hoping for it to be replaced lo

What do you dislike?

Oracle is a very difficult company to deal with, but product is great. OEM has good interface but user management is quite complicated. we would like more people in company to use it but creating privilages is difficult.

Recommendations to others considering the product

"Great for desktop and mobile"

What do you like best?

I like how it's easy to access my time sheets and expense reports via the desktop site and via my Android phone. I hate when websites force you to use Active X scripts and internet explorer to work properly. The Oracle suite works perfectly while I am using Google Chrome browser.

What do you dislike?

I don't like how it doesn't autosave what you type in. You have to manually hit save in order for the info to sync to the servers. Sometimes the website would time out causing my data to be lost since it wasn't saved in time. The ease of accessing different parts of the Oracle suite from each other is a little difficult, it's as if each part operates as a separate program.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I'm a end user employee so I mainly use it to enter data. It's also used to help manage our projects but only the project managers access that part.

"use of Oracle in programming"

What do you like best?

I like very much that it eliminates the administrative tasks slow, and prone to errors. Also the maximization of the yield, and finally the minimization of the human failure.

What do you dislike?

Maintenance cost is very high, just like the training is quite expensive and also the program is quite heavy.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

if I recommend it but you have to keep in mind that the training to handle it is quite expensive as well as the maintenance and the program is heavy. but if I recommend it to others from the competition.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

In the company, it has been used to find a solution to the problem of managing the life cycle in terms of a customer's information, as well as what leads to an appropriate use of storage.

"Oracle developer database"

What do you like best?

The best thing about Oracle Enterprise is the ability to manipulate large volumes of data efficiently and the ease of generating PLSQL code in a friendly way.

What do you dislike?

The tool can be somewhat demanding with memory resources on ram and disk, so on slow computers it is difficult to run.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is a very versatile software that supports the manipulation of data at all levels.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

One of the business problems that Oracle Enterprise Manager solves is that it consolidated data management functionalities in a single environment giving the possibility of interacting with other data tools.

"Great way to manage cloud based databases"

What do you like best?

This is an extremely rock solid reliable dashboard for cloud based databases. The support from Oracle is second to none.

What do you dislike?

It seems to be geared toward higher end users. The ramp up and learning curve to be able to use it at its full potential can be a bit overwhelming, but with Oracle there for you throughout the way, that makes it much easier. The price is a bit high as well, but again with the support you receive its worth its weight in gold.

Recommendations to others considering the product

As most companies are switching and moving to cloud based databases, this is the one you need to mange them.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Used this to patch, repair, tune and organize databases remotely and from the cloud.

"Fun tool for DB Management"

What do you like best?

Administrative tasks have been made easy, simple server implementation. Helps us with our database and middleware management.

Easy to install (solid documentation), also was impressed with the operating system Solaris 11.

What do you dislike?

Not able to run UI thru multiple browser clients. We have also had some hiccups when test driving the application where we needed to shutdown services and databases to get it started.

Another demerit is that EM12c R2 is certified with BI Publisher 11.1.1.6.0 only. Therefore in case you are using EM 12c R1 which is integrated with BI Publisher 11.1.1.5.0, you must upgrade the BI Publisher to 11.1.1.6.0

Recommendations to others considering the product

complexity involved to get OEM agents to work with OEM server. Oracle should simplify this.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Workflow Management, Automation of tasks, Check and tune SQL problems. The monitoring, and plug-ins that communicate with My Oracle Support is excellent.

"Oracle Enterprise Manager - Database detective at its best"

What do you like best?

The functionalities that it offers are numerous ranging from server monitoring, performance tuning, AWS reports, SQL tuning, load balancing. It has very informative visuals capability to see your database performance.

What do you dislike?

AWS reports functionalities can be made better. I also am not very fond of the timeout functionalities. It times out very often and settings have to be changed in the config file.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is a great tool for those working as database administrators!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I worked as a database administrator providing cloud services to multiple clients and sued it to monitor database performances for them.

"Gets the job done "

What do you like best?

This software has a lower learning curve than other database management software. For example, because the user interface is graphical, you do not need to know SQL to find what you want and is much more user friendly. Good for someone who is trying to learn database management and branch off into more advanced Oracle software.

What do you dislike?

While good for beginners to get an idea of database management, you need to eventually use other Oracle software in conjunction with this one because you can't do everything with it. Also it can be slow with debugging and sometimes you have to reboot after large changes are made.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Great for simple tasks, but make sure to use software that implements SQL for specific tasks.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Figuring out priority in which powerlines need repairs or regular maintenance. Managing projects has become easier using this software.

"Ticket monitoring for Office Depot"

What do you like best?

I could see tickets from other stores on this system. tickets would remain active until closed. Easy to use to collaborate with 3rd party.

What do you dislike?

sometimes we would have to call in a site admin to force closure on tickets.

when updating tickets, we had to update them using a drop down tab, if anything were to change, it would not allow for us to update it to closure. the occasional need for an admin to override everything was annoying

Recommendations to others considering the product:

its really not a bad system once the quarks are figured out.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Ticket monitoring, work order generation, updating notes on tickets

OEM is one of the top notch application we are using it in our environment. It gives real time depth analysis report for continuous monitoring. we use OEM for to monitor our SOA stacks. we do use for DB monitoring for performance tuning. we high recommend OEM for large scale enterprise applications.

What do you dislike?

Despite the over experience is good, we do see some issues with the OEM schema DB's and performance been hit low some time. The loading time of all components takes 1 to 2 min which is quite bad for operation team.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

In-depth analysis of the middleware components and reports generation which is quite good for capacity management. if you have large scale enterprise application that need high level of monitoring then I would certainly recommend OEM is the product.

"Tools you can't live without"

What do you like best?

Resource Manager GUI, once you get the concept of resource manager it is much easier to set up "usage restriction" via Resource Manager Console than SQL PLUIS. Ability to write metric and deploy them to multiple databases. Scheduling RMAN backup jobs are much easier with EM console. Ability to monitor the host availability.

What do you dislike?

Database->Control (Startup and Shutdown). I never use this feature because it is much slower than connecting via sqlplus and do a shutdown or startup

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Monitoring database activity, scheduling RMAN backup, creating and deploying metric to monitors multiple databases health

"All The Information You Need Is In Front Of You"

What do you like best?

I find it nice that OEM provides a graphical way to manage both our database and E-Business Suite. It's great being able to see that all the information you need is in front of you on the screen. There are links that allow you to kill sessions or to check your performance. With other solutions, you just see numbers go by on a screen.

What do you dislike?

It can be a process hog sometimes. When I do leave it running, the CPU fan kicks on, and I can hear it running. Otherwise, it's a great tool.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's a very flexible, straightforward installation. It's user friendly, usable day by day and we can see the database monitoring, host monitoring, everything.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

managing and implementing technology solutions resulting in optimized and scalable operational environments.

"Easy for Oracle database management"

What do you like best?

It is easy to manage your Oracle databases with the graphic interface, you do not need to know any SQL or administrate commands.

Most administrate tasks like add data files to tablespaces or extend the size of tablespaces can be done just by clicking buttons.

You can also get some database monitor information from enterprise manager.

What do you dislike?

Cause it simply the management of Oracle database by graphic interface, it is not quite good for beginner to just use it to do administration. You may never know the basic knowledge behind your click. Normally, every database administrator need to learn how to write the commands to deal with normal tasks like create a user and assign proper privileges to the user.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Easy to management your databases if your company owns a large number of databases in production.

It provides system and database monitoring so you can know if there is any error with your databases.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Oracle enterprise manager simply daily tasks of administration and save DBAs from trival tasks, so DBAs can save time to do more important works like tuning your database performance.

"OEM cloud control high level review"

What do you like best?

It's easy to use. One centralized tool to monitor and manage all of our oracle on prem products, such as SOA,, BPM, OPA, OHS, WLS, DB, OIM, OAM, DS, AVDF, etc.. Our enterprise project has been using OEM for nearly 3 years now.

What do you dislike?

It requires some skills for our administrators to master this tool. Individual products such as SOA/BPM only has its own small EM, so it can be confusing with the big OEM cloud control. OEM doesn't monitor RUEI or OKV products natively.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

One centralized tool to monitor and manage all of our oracle products both on -prem and in the cloud, for all our 15+ environments.

"Oracle Enterprise Mgr"

What do you like best?

It's easy, shareable, and reasonable. And it is Oracle. Always has been the leader in database manipulation, definition and access.

What do you dislike?

Cost is higher than almost all others. It interfaces with other products nicely

Recommendations to others considering the product

Shareable. Almost all of the fortune 500 use Oracle in one form or another. Via SAP or many other applications. They produce one of the best (if not the best) Data Definition Languages and Data Manipulation Languages in the market. The Oracle database is 2nd to none for access & availability. Number 1 is a good sign.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Sharing. With one tool rather than a whole slew. Makes a difference in education, oversight, documentation and security.

I am not sure about anything to dislike. What i have used is good.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Oracle is a very useful application that can be used for many different benefits.

In depth analysis in middleware environment. Right amount of data is available to see what was happened. Capacity management for managing the infrastructure.
