Often I spent entire days trying to set up the operational side of the campaign, rather than strategy, copy writing, segmentation, etc. Reporting is non-existent. Hugely disconnected from the rest of the product and completely inaccurate. It is the single least user friendly I have had the misfortune to use. Luckily we changed to a competitor and the difference is amazing. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Eloqua:** Use it at your own peril. If you want to spend all day coding and no time in other marketing activities than this is your tool. But in my opinion, there are other marketing automations platforms out there that are so much better and provide a better user experience. I was impressed with the ability to segment lists, and target multiple groups with different emails, and schedule multiple ways to follow up the email blasts. I love the seamless integration with Salesforce. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** Sometime the interface is a bit clunky and difficult to understand. I also found that adding and creating lists from some data sources required too many steps. When creating emails, we have run into some glitches that cause our emails to not appear exactly as we would like on some email platforms. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Eloqua:** It is quite expensive, but we realized that the benefits are quite worth it. The ability to consolidate so many advanced features is great. **What problems is Oracle Eloqua solving and how is that benefiting you?** We jumped to Eloqua from mailchimp. Eloqua allows us to manage our email campaigns across segments, and allows us to integrate with Salesforce to maximize our e-marketing efforts. We have been able to streamline our email marketing efforts, and really customize the experience for our leads and customers. ### 5. I like the ability to send mass emails, not sure if the people on the list like it. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** The analytics and reports are poor. The profiler feature doesn't offer much info, and the reports aren't all that helpful. The data should be more in depth. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Eloqua:** If you have total control over emails, Eloqua works. If you have marketing departments sending Eloqua emails on behalf of you, it can be overkill and the unsubscribe rate is incredibly high. **What problems is Oracle Eloqua solving and how is that benefiting you?** I don't have time to send personalized emails one at a time. The benefits of eloqua are to send mass marketing emails, but tracking and reporting is less than desirable. Tracking capabilities are excellent. WYSIWYG form and email editors are easy to use. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** Overly technical for simple marketing automation tasks. May be good as a standalone tool but the Integration with Salesforce is overly complex and has a lot of issues. Their community is full of complex work arounds other customers have developed to try to overcome the poor integration. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Eloqua:** Unless you are looking to build very complicated, multi-touch, multi-year campaigns there are tools that accomplish the same thing in much simpler way. It's very powerful for automating campaigns that nurture and qualify leads, but not as strong if used for more operational messaging. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** There is a steep learning curve for new users, and it's not as easy to create mobile-optimized emails using the out of the box tools. From the house of Oracle, this marketing automation tool outperforms its competitors. Though there are many small CRM budding up, but for a large enterprise, I would suggest they would need to stick to Eloqua. Simple drag and drop canvas and email tracking capabilities are the ones to be appreciated. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** First concern is about the support offered by Oracle. The UI is one of the biggest setbacks compared to its competitors. Ease of use is a major concern for any marketing professional using Eloqua. The "campaign canvas" as they call it allows the user to drag and drop segments, assets, decision steps, and action steps with ease. Creating emails, landing pages, and forms within an easy to navigate editor is a huge plus. Eloqua also integrates seamlessly with Compendium, Oracle's Content Management platform. Content can be vetted and approved from Compendium and promoted into Eloqua and used within emails, landing pages, and dynamic content modules. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** The event and custom data modules still appear to be on the old Eloqua 9 UI. That needs to be updated ASAP. The program builder, while a great tool, is tough to navigate and can be rough when building a new program for the first few times. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Eloqua:** Great tool for the money. If used correctly you can do wonderful things for your direct marketing. Oracle support does tend to be sluggish and you may not receive the answers right away but you can escalate issues rather easily to support management. **What problems is Oracle Eloqua solving and how is that benefiting you?** Here are a few bullets to answer this: - automated all of our campaigns including events, webinars, promotions, product, nurture, and market driven campaigns. - develop and execute form strategies in our campaigns to learn more about the customer. - serving up the right content to the right customer at the right time ### 48. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review. **What do you like best about Oracle Eloqua?** That it automatically sends out emails and tracks the emails for you. It gives a lot of insight for our business and how it can help us. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** I am no longer to effectively use the program to target a canadian market due to new anti spam laws. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Eloqua:** I would recommend that people honestly give this software a chance. It is an excellent tool and does everything that a Marketer or sales person would need to successfully execute email campaigns. I really enjoyed using it and hopefully will be able to find a way to re attribute it to another person/department. **What problems is Oracle Eloqua solving and how is that benefiting you?** We solved the problem of emailing prospects/leads and it was great and useful until the new laws kicked in.
