Java applications use different versions of OpenJDK, starting from version 8 through the latest 15. This AMI has all the stable versions of OpenJDK pre-installed. All you need to do before running the workload on an EC2 node spun up from this AMI is to point JAVA\_HOME to the correct location.

**What do you like best about OpenJDK Java Machine for Amazon Linux 2?**

1. Easy to install using yum command
2. Administration of JDK was not that difficult
3. Extracting performance out of system was really easy
4. Support from Amazon team was helpful.

**What do you dislike about OpenJDK Java Machine for Amazon Linux 2?**

1. Behaviour of class.getMethods returned methods that are not members of the class - to fix this, we had to enforce version upgrade.
2. Behaviour of Refelction class was little bit of bit.

**What problems is OpenJDK Java Machine for Amazon Linux 2 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. We deployed an customer identification and onboarding solution on EC2 instance.
2. There were many advantages we found using Linux 2 as it worked nicely with python SDK's and some of the machine learning models.
