"Reliable, Open Source JDK with Seamless Tool Integration"
What do you like best about Amazon Corretto?

I value Amazon Corretto for its reliability, stability, and truly open-source approach, which integrates smoothly with existing tools, particularly when working on Java and Android builds. It streamlines the development process, making it a strong option for developers who need a free, production-ready Java environment. I also appreciate the frequent updates and the strong performance it delivers across all platforms. Although I encountered some challenges at first, I now find it straightforward and easy to use. Overall, this program is helpful, resolves issues efficiently, and consistently delivers excellent results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Corretto?

Amazon Corretto, while generally stable, tends to lag behind in adopting the latest OpenJDK updates and features. Its performance tuning options are also more limited compared to other JDK distributions. Additionally, the community support and documentation can feel sparse and less responsive than what is offered by competitors such as Temurin and Azul. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Unmatched for free and stable JDK solution"
What do you like best about Amazon Corretto?

The biggest feature of Amazon Corretto is its production-grade reliability. It is not just an OpenJDK build, but a JVM optimized, secure, and long-term supported by AWS, which is extremely stable for mission-critical applications. I like that Corretto provides enterprise-level stability without any additional cost—making large deployments cost-efficient. Additionally, Corretto's performance is remarkable: it remains consistently stable in long-running microservices, memory consumption is optimized, and garbage collection tuning works better. For applications deployed on AWS, Corretto offers a practically "plug and play" experience—because it comes naturally optimized with the AWS ecosystem. Due to Free & Long-Term Support (LTS), Corretto is completely free and continues to receive updates for a long time—making it perfect for enterprise setups. Corretto JVM is tuned for Performance Optimization: it ensures more stable throughput, lower latency, and better garbage collection behavior, resulting in noticeable performance improvement in Java backend services. Due to Regular Security Updates, AWS quickly releases security patches, keeping production environments secure. Due to Seamless AWS Ecosystem Compatibility, there are no compatibility issues when running Java apps on AWS services like EC2, ECS, Lambda, and due to Cross-platform Availability, the same distribution runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS. Due to 100% OpenJDK Compatibility, there are Zero code changes, Zero build changes, Zero configuration conflicts when migrating any Java project. Due to High Stability for Microservices, this JVM is very reliable in microservices architecture, especially in continuous load and high uptime scenarios. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Corretto?

1. Compared to New Java Releases, Updates are slightly delayed Corretto usually adopts new updates from OpenJDK, but: sometimes patches or releases arrive a few days late. Oracle or Adoptium builds provide updates quickly. Impact: Production environments have to wait a bit for the updated security patch.

2. Documentation is not always as detailed AWS documentation is overall good, but: some JVM tuning features, performance benchmarks, detailed migration guides are not as detailed for Corretto as they are in Adoptium or Oracle JDK. Impact: Extra research is needed in tuning or debugging scenarios. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless, Reliable JDK for IntelliJ Users"
What do you like best about Amazon Corretto?

I really appreciate Amazon Corretto JDK's stability and how it seamlessly integrates with IntelliJ. It's reliable and provides a hassle-free setup with no random bugs or configuration issues. The automatic long-term security updates give me confidence to use it for production-grade Java projects. It's lightweight and fast, fitting perfectly into my Spring Boot and IntelliJ workflow. The cross-platform consistency is impressive, and it aligns well with AWS services, especially for cloud-based Java apps. Amazon's performance tuning makes it shine during heavy builds and long-running processes. Plus, it's free, fully open-source, and there are no licensing headaches, making it a polished, enterprise-ready JDK. Overall, it gives me a clean, reliable Java environment I don’t have to worry about. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Corretto?

The only thing that could improve is the documentation — it’s a bit minimal compared to other JDKs. Occasionally, updates arrive slightly later than upstream OpenJDK. Other than that, I haven’t faced any major issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable and Free OpenJDK Distribution for Enterprise Use"
What do you like best about Amazon Corretto?

What I like best about Amazon Corretto is its stability and seamless compatibility with Java applications. It’s a drop-in replacement for OpenJDK, but with long-term support and regular security updates from AWS. It performs very well across different platforms and integrates smoothly into CI/CD environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Corretto?

There’s not much to dislike, but I’d say that documentation for version-specific changes could be improved. Also, updates sometimes take time to appear in container registries compared to direct OpenJDK releases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

there are no commercial support from Amazon, and limited specialized distributions. some enterprise environments, or legacy software, or compliance auditors may expect "Oracle JDK", or a more widely recognized vendor build. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable OpenJDK Distribution for Java Development"
What do you like best about Amazon Corretto?

Amazon Corretto is a great alternative to Oracle JDK, especially for teams and developers looking for a free, long-term supported OpenJDK build. It’s backed by Amazon, which gives confidence in stability and updates. It integrates seamlessly with Java projects and works well across platforms like Windows, Linux, and macOS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Corretto?

There’s minimal documentation specific to Corretto features; most users have to rely on general OpenJDK documentation. Also, while it’s stable, there’s no official GUI installer for some OS versions, which may be slightly inconvenient for beginners. The community support is not as strong as some other JDKs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
