Finally, there are many format options available for exporting the jobs, which enables template sharing across different software chains. **What do you dislike about OmniGraffle?** OmniGraffle can be a bit pricey for personal use, and I recommend the developers make an affordable plan for students that do not need to use the platform very often. **What problems is OmniGraffle solving and how is that benefiting you?** Everyone in my office uses Apple Mac OSX hardware, and we were looking for software that could work perfectly on this platform. I didn't need any training to use. It was very easy to get my idea across with simple shapes and export to share the flows. I mock up here quickly as it's useful for remote work when I used to do low-fi wires and journey mapping on a whiteboard. **What do you dislike about OmniGraffle?** It's not as "pretty". It's good for UX designers but not for UI or dual designers. It's functional but not visually pleasing. Extensive image libraries available, and easy to create your own that you can share within your team or group. Near endless formatting and styling options. Some automation capabilities, but we haven't yet found a use case for them. By far the best graphing/diagramming tool available for MacOS or iOS. **What do you dislike about OmniGraffle?** Sometimes adding lines to a graffle cause the lines to snap to other objects unintentionally. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a setting to control this behavior, but it hasn't been a big enough issue to try and find out. Other than that, nothing comes to mind that I dislike about OmniGraffle. **What problems is OmniGraffle solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use OmniGraffle to diagram process flows and entity relationships. OmniGraffle allows to quickly model these, and once final designs are done, create images suitable for insertion into our documentation. The stencil library allows us to save our most used object types, and easily share them among the entire team. It's also very simple to add custom objects to a stencil library. ### 4. It is a solid tool to allow me, as an Enterprise Architect to document IT systems, Business Processes and process flows. If I was to campare with the Microsoft offering, I would say that Omnigraffle is the product that Microsoft should have created. The best feature is clearly the way it allows multiple canvases within the one document, where one canvas can be duplicated and modified to show a different scenario, all being achieved quickly. Additionaly, if the existing stencils are not enough, the community supported repository of stencils are accessable directly from the software. It truely a joy to find and load new stencils with a single click. **What do you dislike about OmniGraffle?** Mac only, but really this is not a big issue for me. If it was available on Windows, the uptake of the product would be garanteed. Beyond that, the only other issue is that some Visio files import with strange artifacts, but can easily reeditied to resolve the problem. **Recommendations to others considering OmniGraffle:** Omnigraffle is the tool that makes Visio users jealous. I certainly recommend it for all those Mac users out there. **What problems is OmniGraffle solving and how is that benefiting you?** In my day to day activities, I need a tool that allows me to capture and document the processes of the clients I work for, Omnigraffle is a tool that easily solves the problem, has the ability to store files in native Omnigraffle format and to export them into Microsoft Visio file format, if I need to share an editable version. ### 5. There a re. aton of features, as well as templates and while one can get a bit lost in them, it is the only tool (there are others avaialble but not for mne) I use. **What do you dislike about OmniGraffle?** There are an awful lot features and what once started as a pretty simple tool, that aimed to fulfill a few needs, it seems to be becoming one of those one size fits all tools. **Recommendations to others considering OmniGraffle:** While a fantastic tool, and the one to have, it is expensive. **What problems is OmniGraffle solving and how is that benefiting you?** Again, essentially wireframing for both mobile apps and websites, as werll as creating web trees. The software allows for easy export into many different formats, including jpeg, png and pdf. **What do you dislike about OmniGraffle?** The user interface is not very intuitive even if one wants to create a very basic figure. Though the tools provides many options, one typically has to navigate multiple menus to find the feature. There are also bugs, bugs, and bugs. **Recommendations to others considering OmniGraffle:** I would highly recommend Omnigraffle over most diagramming tools out there. I have tried many of them and in one way or another they have left me disappointed and have turned back to Omnigraffle. Once you learn how to outline with shortcuts the application becomes a breeze to use. Don't let the user interface deter you from learning this program. Take some tutorials and I guarantee you that you will never look back. There are many useful stencils and templates that you can get for free to get you started. Once you have mastered how to use them it is very easy to start creating your own if you wish to. You can also import illustrator assets if you feel more comfortable creating vector assets in that program. Omigraffle provides a range of export options as well so that you can produce jpegs, pngs, multiple page pdfs, and many more. **What problems is OmniGraffle solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am a user experience designer and I make diagrams, site maps, and user flows to realize client products. Omnigraffle is lighting fast. I am able to diagram a process during client meeting and have them approved by the end of the meeting.
