Imports all fields in one pass instead of having to do multiple passes in Raiser's Edge to import data. Also, Raiser's Edge requires an Import ID field generated in RE to update existing constituent records. Import-o-Matic doesn't require an Import ID which makes the importing process easier and less complicated. Most of the fields in Raiser's Edge database are available to import data and that is nice. Customer Service is helpful when assistance is needed by online ticket or email. One of my favorite features is the Virtual Fields allowing to keep the number of columns in the import spreadsheet to a minimum by defaulting fields that have the same exact data for all records. Error messages do not point the end-user to solutions. Lack of linked-help articles is a challenge as a non-profit may not have the budget to have a developer on-site. So a novice to intermediate data manager cannot resolve the matter in-house (unless they have extensive knowledge). ImportOmatic makes importing data into my donor database (Raiser's Edge) so easy and eliminates many of the places where errors can happen. We get our data from a Lock Box and I have a custom template that I built and I get the data in quickly and accurately. This makes the whole process quick and easy. The best thing is the auto-matching to existing records, with the ability to set what it matches on and when to ask you about it before importing. Before IOM we used Net Community and it took FOREVER to one-by-one match records. We have an event that brings in 100s of donations weekly and I could never keep up with processing them. But now with IOM, I am on top of them every single day. And therefore, we are thanking our donors EVERY day! I also LOVE the ability to have things checked on the records depending on how the data comes in, i.e., if a new donor gift with no address, the "has no valid address" box is checked on the record after IOM imports it. The one thing that bugs me is that when searching duplicates on addresses, it will pull old/inactive addresses in RE as a match. So then I spend the time going into the record to see how they are connected, only to discover that they aren't - it's just an expired address. There's no way to search only on active addresses. Building ImportOmatic profiles can be tricky and there is a lot to learn. The knowlegebase articles on the website are sometimes difficult to navigate. Unless you know the exact terminology to use in the search function, you may not get results. The help articles tend to be a high-level introduction without going into complex nitty gritty, which is often what you need the help with. You can send copies of the profile and data files to get help but that requires a waiting turnaround time. One caveat about MergeOmatic is that it is query-based and you cannot ask it to merge just two specific records. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the intelligence behind their products. There have been times when VIPs (major donors and/or prospects) have been unsubscribed without us knowing. There is also sometimes concern that contacts are mis-matched with existing contacts. Lastly, the interface feels "bare bones" in some areas, which can hamper how efficiently I make changes to formulas (I sometimes have to go forward or back in the formula steps to see important information). There are multiple products in the Omatic suite, of which I use RecordRadar, Score-o-matic and Import-o-matic. Record radar was a lifesaver! Prior to my arrival, my organization did not enter county, so it made it difficult to pull lists based on geography. With record radar, I can use the zip code and select the radius. It is awesome! Score-o-matic is helping up prioritize our major gift portfolios, which we hope will help us raise more money quicker by focusing on the best prospects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't like that you have to purchase each product separately. It would be helpful if they let you know of all their products at the beginning so you can get a package deal instead of one here and one there. The implementation for our import-o-matic product felt a bit rushed by their staff and when asking additional questions, we were told to just contact customer support. We didn't learn too much from the implementation, just their staff members went through and set things up and then when we needed to set up another profile, we struggled from not learning as much as we would have liked. We use importomatic for all our large data imports as well as for smaller imports but it always goes smoothly. I am able to batch in large amounts of data without going through Raiser's Edge directly or having to upload a premade list or worse, have to update each individual constituent manually. The dictionaries sometimes do not match up with will give me a lot of errors if I do not run on validation mode to catch them. Sometimes I feel like setting up a new profile could be more user firendly in a sense that they give a more tools to walk you through it, like a video or tutorial. I feel that trainings or refreshers need to be more available to the users outside of the frequently asked questions.
