**What do you like best about NX CAM?**

I appreciate NX CAM for automated programming which reduces a lot of manual effort and its user-friendly development tools. I like its versatility and good UI design, which makes it very easy for me to find the commands I need. There is also a search command option where, if I don't remember the exact location of a command, I can type the name, and it lists out all the commands with similar keywords. Setting up NX CAM was very easy for me.

**What do you dislike about NX CAM?**

I think NX CAM could improve on its 5-axis toolpath strategies and offer more tool axis options. It needs more flexibility and fewer limitations in this area.

I use NX CAM for automated programming, which reduces manual effort, and appreciate its user-friendly development tools.

It's fast. I don't really know what to say more about it.

**What do you dislike about NX CAM?**

Some times it's a bit to much focused on NC programming. I'm using it more for robotics, and I think there is still some work to do in that field

**What problems is NX CAM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NX CAM is helping us speeding up our work with additive manufacturing. Working with AM in Process Simulate has kind of slowed us down. Although we're not quite done in NX yet, I think that it will help us to speed up our work once we're done.

Your simulation based on the digital twin is excellent; it allows you to validate the machining with complete safety before going to the machine, drastically reducing errors and setup times.

**What do you dislike about NX CAM?**

Sometimes the interface is overwhelming due to the number of menus and available parameters. The initial setup of the post-processor and templates can also be a complex and slow process.

**What problems is NX CAM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Resolve the disconnection between design and manufacturing. If the 3D model changes, the paths update automatically, saving me hours of reprogramming and avoiding version errors.

I use NX CAM for CNC programming and tool path generation. I really like its seamless integration between design and manufacturing, which handles complex parts efficiently. It also saves programming time and improves overall machine precision. We switched to NX CAM for better integration, advanced machining capabilities, and improved handling of complex tool paths. The ability to address multiple axis machines with great efficiency and more accurate simulation and collision detection also stood out for us.

I like that NX CAM is easy to use and that it can take a lot of different formats of data. The tools and features available are great, and there's a lot of support to help out. I also appreciate the service and support from the health section, which has been helpful.

The NX CAM product line and knowledge base in designing could be improved. It would be great to have a material database upgrade, especially for automotive sectors. A wider variety of material options and a more comprehensive database should be there.

I use NX CAM to see the feasibility of manufacturing components, analyze draft angles, and run production simulations with prebuilt setups to check if things work as planned.

I really like the integration between the CAD and CAM ecosystem of our company with NX CAM. It helps in keeping track of the whole product lifecycle management, and the reworks in the build preparation are faster and smoother.

**What do you dislike about NX CAM?**

I find the stability and repeatability of the newly developed AM features like body lattice, print marks, STL file printer, and other printers, with different CAD models each designed differently, to be challenging. Also, switching from previous software to NX CAM wasn't easy because NX uses CAD rules, while the other software didn't use a parametric approach.

I use NX CAM for AM build preparation. It helps keep track of the whole product lifecycle and makes reworks faster and smoother.

I appreciate that NX CAM reduces overall programming time and handles complex jobs effectively. I also really like the integrated NX CAD and Simulation platform because it allows me to design products, generate toolpaths, and validate designs all on the same platform, making it a single source of truth.

**What do you dislike about NX CAM?**

The UI could be more user-friendly, and the Post processor could be easier to use. The command dialogues need to be easier, and there should be better help documentation. For the Post processor, more help documents are needed to easily understand the templates.

Integrations: it works very well within the Siemens ecosystem, but with external systems or mixed workflows, it sometimes requires more configuration than desired.
Performance: in large assemblies or complex simulations, it can demand powerful hardware to work smoothly.
Pricing / ROI: the initial investment in licenses, maintenance, and training is high, especially for small companies.

I like that NX CAM allows me to import 3D models of market tools and commercial clamping systems from supplier libraries and catalogs, which helps me create a much more accurate digital twin. Additionally, I appreciate the G-code-based simulation and axis limit detection.

Feature-based machining can be complicated to set up and requires you to hire an administrator or librarian. You must enter all possible combinations and teach the environment how to work. If you don't have extra people, you will struggle to enable it without senior-level experience.

It has the capabilities to do super complex toolpaths. But using basic toolpaths is way more complicated than it needs to be.

It is too complex for simple 3 axis operations. Also the support from the machine kit side is horrible. There needs to be more toolpath options for custom operations using guides rather than using a 3D geometry.

if the simulation would work, we would be able to have a proven system to verify toolpaths. Currently some of the Gcode simulation isn't so we are stuck without a solution.
