The software is really versatile and allows you to utilize it in a variety of ways **What do you dislike about Nuix Neo Discover?** My main complaint is that you are currently unable to perform searches for a list of page IDs--only by document IDs. **Recommendations to others considering Nuix Neo Discover:** Lots of folks tend to compare Ringtail to other review platforms, which is somewhat helpful, but Ringtail is unique in its approach to document review and I think it's important to keep that in mind. **What problems is Nuix Neo Discover solving and how is that benefiting you?** I work for a law firm, we we use Ringtail daily to faciliate document review. it's really helpful to be able to cull down the review set and save the client a bit of money. ### 6. Instead of charts, lists and numbers, it presents the documents in a visual form with a coloured dot representing each document (the colour representing the responsiveness selection that has been made), grouped together in spiral clusters of similar documents. Thus if the document in the centre of the cluster is not responsive and the one on the outside is not responsive, it may be safe to assume the whole spiral can be bulk-coded. Or you can change the colour coding to represent different parties' productions so that you can see where all parties produced similar documents, or whether one party produced significantly more or less in any one topic area, which may provide insight into other parties' case strategy. It takes a bit to get used to using a very different approach, but a user can also map any group of documents (max 10,000 docs), so for coding a batch, you can sort it more and more specifically into similar docs, which makes review more efficient and consistent. **What do you dislike about Nuix Neo Discover?** The security settings often have too many different things that need to be altered for one thing, making case administration tricky. In trying to make it do everything that anyone might possibly want, it becomes a bit unwieldy. Also there's been some rocky transition in merging the old Ringtail with the former Attenex, but that is gradually getting smoothed out with each release. Administration is significantly easier with 8.4 than it was with 8.3. Looking forward to 8.5! **Recommendations to others considering Nuix Neo Discover:** Likely not cost-effective to go in-house. Hosted and perhaps even managed services may be the more cost effective option due to unpredictable costs of maintaining infrastructure and the necessary expertise for processing (the IT skills are always changing). **What problems is Nuix Neo Discover solving and how is that benefiting you?** Great competitiveness. ### 8. I also encourage thinking about the cost analysis and amount of time you will save with their software. There are several benefits to the software as opposed to others and it can do things that others can't. I find it very intuitive. **What problems is Nuix Neo Discover solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being asked for a Data dump of files seems very overwhelming. When you are asked to retrieve needles from a large haystack, ringtail can help take care of that for you and make things much easier. ### 9. I find that Ringtail 8 makes it very easy to toggle from content to pages views, which I also appreciate. Cubes and mines in Ringtail 8 are great! **What do you dislike about Nuix Neo Discover?** Lack of intuitiveness of some functions--for example, it's hard to print documents in Ringtail 8. Batch print is in a very odd place. Additionally, I sometimes find it difficult to perform effective content searches -- this is sometimes a function of the age/quality of the documents, however. **Recommendations to others considering Nuix Neo Discover:** Ringtail is more streamlined than some other document review platforms (e.g., ADI; Kroll; Relativity, in my experience). Some frustrations include (in Ringtail 8) difficulty in printing documents. Content searching--in virually every document review software I have used--could be improved as well. **What problems is Nuix Neo Discover solving and how is that benefiting you?** Cost effective document review is made much easier with the use of Ringtail. With Ringtail 2, I enjoy being able to see the document list, as well as the document itself and review pane simultaneously. **What do you dislike about Nuix Neo Discover?** First, I dislike the fact that it runs slowly. It often takes five seconds per document to load, which, when reviewing thousands of documents, simply wastes too much time. I also feel that the various binders/levels/issues and other features are counterintuitive, and difficult to use. I am generally unsure of when it is best to use each, and don't feel like they help with the review process. Further, I dislike the fact that it is difficult to locate responsive search terms within long documents. I have used other review software that highlights the terms, and makes the information searchable. I also dislike, with the previous version of Ringtail, that there is a two-window system. **What problems is Nuix Neo Discover solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am reviewing legal documents for production. Data load files are based on Microsoft Access databases (.mdb). Can be difficult to work with. Helpful if you know Access scripting and querying. When receiving traditional (.dat/.opt) load files - conversion to Ringtail acceptable can be difficult. **What problems is Nuix Neo Discover solving and how is that benefiting you?** Firm needed a replacement for old document review platform that was robust and offered next gen solutions such as Technology Assisted Review and advanced analytic capability. ### 12. For real time transactions We have to perform the batch operations to insure the atomic operations but its not guaranteed. Doesnt support Ad-hoc queries. To support the Ad-hoc queries, we need to enlarge the schema to have multiple search columns with records which may not get used together but they will be used alternatively.
