## nQuery Reviews
  ### 1. Awesome product and great support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff D. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2020

**What do you like best about nQuery?**

This software handles every design of importance to me. I am a consulting statistician in the pharmaceutical industry and I have a vast variety of study designs that I must provide sample size analysis for. NQuery walks me through the issues and provides excellent guidance as well as references.

**What do you dislike about nQuery?**

Some advice appears when you hover over a specific part of a table. I have missed some advice at times. It would be an improvement to have warning boxes or other methods of providing dynamic advice.

**Recommendations to others considering nQuery:**

Get this product. It has everything you need. I have been using it since the company has been in business.

**What problems is nQuery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Group Sequential Design ; differences in proportions ; differences in survival curves; differences in continuous variables; bioequivalence; noninferiority.

  ### 2. Excellent tool for use in clinical research

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andreas B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2020

**What do you like best about nQuery?**

nQuery provides a great interface to quickly access the desired methods for sample size calculation and useful tips to provide the desired inputs. It further allows for swift visualization of results to indicate how changing parameters impact sample size and power - a very useful tool to convey results of the sample size calculation.

Another useful feature are side-tables that allow the user to easily populate the main table for sample size calculation without having to go to length to obtain the required values. The variety in methods that are available for sample size calculation enable the tool to be used in most trials.

While not part of the nQuery sample size software, I would also like to mention the webinars provided by nQuery that not only provide information regarding their software but also well prepared information on various topics; and that for free.

**What do you dislike about nQuery?**

If I had to pick something to dislike, I would say that the business model (restricting a few methods to certain licenses of the software) is not my favorite. But the fact that there are all of these methods is much rather a plus.

**Recommendations to others considering nQuery:**

If you wish to have a tool that is easy to use, flexible yet powerful and with a great support team behind it, then consider getting your hands on nQuery. A demo of the system can be requested without much effort. Be sure to consider what you want from it though, as some modules are not available for all licenses.

**What problems is nQuery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used nQuery for sample size calculations during all stages of development of clinical trials - from early feasibility questions, to final determination of sample sizes for medical device and medicinal products.

  ### 3. love this app, insightful, easy to use, great help menus

**What do you dislike about nQuery?**

i have no dislikes. i may just need to expand my knowledge on sample size calculation to fully appreciate the app

**Recommendations to others considering nQuery:**

the makers of nquery are definitely on the right track. skies the limit

**What problems is nQuery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

i am trying to calculate the power my study has to make certain conclusions. the broad tools available on the app allow me to add some detail in its determination

  ### 4. Very useful tool for research planning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2019

**What do you like best about nQuery?**

There are a large number of options for designating assumptions such equal or unequal variance.
There are assistants to estimate standard deviation and covert parameters
Plots can easily be obtained to show patterns of sample size.
There are new Bayesian assurance options.
Every cell has a help page that automatically displays.
A default output statement is created automatically that is appropriate for inclusion in a study protocol or a journal article.

**What do you dislike about nQuery?**

Some of the help pages are cryptic.
I use a Mac platform. I must run nQuery in a Windows emulator.

**Recommendations to others considering nQuery:**

A trial will easily convince a skeptic of its usefulness.

**What problems is nQuery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clinical trails planning
Observational study confidence interval planning

  ### 5. Complex and affordable sample size tool for all trial designs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2019

**What do you like best about nQuery?**

The range of procedures. Their website says 1000+ sample size scenarios, and I have to say while working internal and externally with this tool for on our protocol, we have been able to test and validate any of our adaptive trial designs so far. I am a long time user so was using nQuery as my sample size software tool before it had Bayesian and Adaptive capabilities. So I really like the addition of them in the last few years.

**What do you dislike about nQuery?**

There is nothing the warrants me to say I dislike any particular feature. It does what I need of it quickly.

**Recommendations to others considering nQuery:**

Great software for sample size determination if you are a clinical researcher. We are pursuing adaptive trials and the nQuery software and learning material has aided my team with this.

**What problems is nQuery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are expanding clinical trial designs. I work both internally and externally with the various review groups and we can all talk the same language using the same tool as it does what we need to do, so we can move onto the next step.

  ### 6. Great Software for PA

Intuitive, easy to use software for all kinds of power analyses. Great for academic settings. Excellent support: always available, fast response, very friendly, thinking with you and taking the specifics of the client's needs seriously.

**What do you dislike about nQuery?**

Quite elaborate; takes time to learn to use it.

**What problems is nQuery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PA for a specific design.

  ### 7. Essential tool for a consulting Statistician

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2019

**What do you like best about nQuery?**

The very wide range of procedures available for sample size determination. During my day as bio-statistician in the Faculty of Health Sciences of our university I am often involved with protocol development, mainly in clinical research, for Masters & PhD students as well as for established researchers . The protocols for these projects all require a sample size statement, and for the latter I am very grateful for a wonderful tool line nQuery. I also serve on an ethics committee, primarily serving pharmaceutical research, and again nQuery enables me to confirm the sample size statements in the protocols on review.

**What do you dislike about nQuery?**

I do not have dislikes. My battles are usually due to my own limitations.

**Recommendations to others considering nQuery:**

Go ahead and just buy it, you will not regret doing so.

**What problems is nQuery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sample size determination and evaluation across a very wide spectrum of research projects.

  ### 8. Good for use in statistical consultation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2019

**What do you like best about nQuery?**

I provide statistical consultation for various clinical programs that involve protocol development, randomization, assessments of sample size calculations, efficacy evaluations and study data review. I like them all to use the same software. Most researchers I work with are already familiar and skilled with nQuery. I like that trust and time saving this software brings.

**What do you dislike about nQuery?**

Not much. It has a lot of options that are useful for me.

**Recommendations to others considering nQuery:**

I spend a lot of time in SAS, but there is a need for other statistical software packages like nQuery for us. Although I like using R, it's useful to have a validated package like nQuery.

**What problems is nQuery solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I spend a lot of time in SAS, but there is a need for other statistical software packages like nQuery for us. Although I’m fine with it, R also some has weird quirks and a steep learning curve.
