From support and setup to answering questions, fine-tuning, and offering suggestions, they have been second to none. That level of partnership is rare, and I’m beyond grateful for it. **What do you dislike about Nomic Networks?** I do not have a major dislike at this point. If I had to pick something, it would simply be that I am still learning how to take full advantage of everything Nomic provides. There is a lot of valuable telemetry and visibility available, so my only challenge has been making sure I continue to build the right internal processes around reviewing, tuning, and acting on that information consistently. By sitting at the edge of our network, Nomic gives us valuable insight and telemetry into traffic moving in and out of the environment. That visibility has been especially helpful because we have several third-party vendors connected to our network, and historically I have had limited insight into what they are doing or how their traffic is behaving. They are responsive and provide a critical service for our infrastructure. In short, I tell other IT professionals that they would have to pry them from my cold dead hands. They are that critical to our security posture. **What do you dislike about Nomic Networks?** I sincerely do not have one. They are affordable and the cost benefit analysis is a no brainer. Althought it has not happened, my fear is they get to well known and the current status quo of service may suffer, but as I said, that has not occurred. **Recommendations to others considering Nomic Networks:** One of the best decisions you will make. If you want to impress your C level management, you need to proucure their services. The old cliche was no one ever was fired for purchasing Cisco, well that can be said for implementing Nomic sevices too. Have been in IT for over 40 years and there aren't many products and/or services that you can, without reservation, recommend. This has been incredibly eye-opening. One of the greatest features of the Sentinel Outpost is the network cloaking feature. This helps you hide from would-be threats trying to scan your network. **What do you dislike about Nomic Networks?** It's not something I particularly dislike but it is an option that would be nice. I think it would be slick if Sentinel Managed Network Security Services offered a smaller, less-expensive product for "the little guys" that may not have the budget for their services. Currently, there's a one-size-fits-all appliance but it would be nice to see different products at different price points/bandwidth capabilities. **Recommendations to others considering Nomic Networks:** Sentinel Managed Network Security Services is good at hiding from the bad guys but doesn't hide anything from you. If you're looking for a managed IPS that isn't a "black box" and provides you with actionable insights and visibility, this is the team you should be working with. They provide unmatched support and were even willing to hop on a multi-vendor call to spell out requirements with us. **What problems is Nomic Networks solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use trust Sentinel IPS to be placed on the front lines. It serves as our first line of defense for traffic coming into our network and our last line of defense for traffic leaving. ### 16. We receive reports daily that show just how much work it is doing to allow our firewall and router to handle more of what they are needed to do without worrying about all of the extra traffic. And their support is top notch, but we've only had to contact them once or twice in the 3 years we've had the product. **What do you dislike about Nomic Networks?** Nothing to dislike. It does what we need it to do and we've never had any issues with the hardware, software or support. **Recommendations to others considering Nomic Networks:** Sentinel IPS offer a generous trial period and it is very easy to add the hardware into your existing network. They provided great pre-support, implementation and attentive post support. Their box was easy to install and seems very easy to manage, but effective at looking for security issues. **What do you like best about Nomic Networks?** Support is swift to respond and knowledgeable about the threats involved and the attempts to attack your network. **What do you dislike about Nomic Networks?** We are a new customer, but I haven't found any negative aspects yet. As an SMB, I always wish for a lower price, but the active way Sentinel monitors their device alongside us seems like a great value add. **Recommendations to others considering Nomic Networks:** They are very willing to do a free live trial of their product. My attack surface is reduced by their automated processes and thwarts attempts on our assets before they can be executed. Detailed reporting and easy-to-understand reports can be a huge difference maker in maintaining a strong security posture. It's one of the only true IPS systems I have seen. **What problems is Nomic Networks solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were able to reduce the amount of traffic flowing into our firewall, and into our spam filter because Sentinel is handling so much of it at the edge. ### 30. When there's threats and you have to involve support to check into false positives or get more information on traffic, support will respond quickly and give you all the information you need **What do you like best about Nomic Networks?** Customer support and the web interface.
