"Privacy-friendly and expandable, but improvements in appointment management needed"
5/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

I appreciate the easy operation of Nextcloud with a simple, self-explanatory, and cleanly structured user interface. The expansion possibilities are great, as I can install additional plugins to tailor Nextcloud to my own needs, especially regarding security and schedule management. Privacy-friendliness is of great importance to me, as I can install Nextcloud on my own server and the data is not shared with third parties. The installation was straightforward, which is also a plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

Own appointment management with a booking page as an alternative to Calendly or Zoom needs to be improved. The booking page should be designed to be more flexible, with own appointments, integration with external calendars for synchronization, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Self-Hosted FOSS That Competes with Costly Commercial Options"
4/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

I love FOSS, so that’s always a plus. The flexibility of self-hosted solutions is a big advantage if you’re willing to invest the time and resources. In return, you end up with a tailor-made setup that can compete directly with more expensive commercial options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

It’s not that I dislike it, but I’m aware that self-hosting isn’t for everyone. You’re responsible for backups, upgrades, overall system health, and administration in general. For me, it’s worth it, but it definitely won’t be the right fit for everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Nextcloud Gives You True Data Ownership with Flexible, All-in-One Tools"
4/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

What I like most about Nextcloud is the freedom it gives you — your data stays yours, no weird surprises. It’s open source, super flexible, and packs everything in one place like files, chat, and calendars. You can host it your own way, customize it a ton, and it just feels solid and reliable overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

What I dislike about Nextcloud is that accessing it from outside my home network can be a hassle. Setting up remote access isn’t always straightforward, and if something’s misconfigured, it just won’t work. It’s doable, but definitely not as smooth as I’d like. "Nextcloud: Secure, Flexible, and Open-Source Bliss"
5/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

I use Nextcloud primarily for securing, storing, organizing, and managing important files while maintaining complete control over my data. It allows me to sync documents seamlessly across multiple devices, which is important for remote work or accessing files on the go. What I like most about Nextcloud is its strong balance between flexibility, security, and ease of use. The platform gives full control over data ownership while still offering a smooth and user-friendly experience. I like its open-source nature that allows integration with existing tools, providing transparency and flexibility. The reliability of the platform in its day-to-day use is impressive, with files syncing smoothly across devices without disruptions. The permission management system effectively manages access at a granular level. Additionally, the integration with productivity tools, authentication systems, and collaboration applications keeps everything centralized and organized, reducing the need to switch between multiple platforms. What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

The initial setup and configuration can feel slightly technical, especially for new users without an IT background. A more guided onboarding experience or setup process would make adoption even better. Maybe like interactive videos for users who don't have well-versed technical expertise. First login tips for users could be helpful. While documentation was helpful, the configuration setup requires some understanding of servers, permissions, and integrations. "Nextcloud: Freedom, Privacy, and Control Over My Data"
4/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

What I appreciate most about Nextcloud is that it's free. I was previously a paying customer of Google One, but I decided to switch to Nextcloud for my cloud storage needs, using my own NAS as the physical storage. This change has worked well for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

The UI of the client on the Mac IOS client needs to be more polished, maybe its just me who is too picky on the looks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Affordable, Self-Managed Storage Solution"
4/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

I like that Nextcloud offers a self-managed alternative to Google Drive and Dropbox with unlimited storage for cheap. The management and setup are easy, and the client is decent. It just works. I also appreciate the multiple OS support, which means I can access shared files from my mobile phone without much hassle. The setup in a self-hosted environment is quite easy, and it doesn't require much upkeep to keep it running. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Nextcloud?

The best thing about Nextcloud is its strong data privacy and the full control it gives you through self-hosting. On top of that, it offers seamless file sharing, useful collaboration features, and a wide range of integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

I’ve run into occasional performance issues in larger deployments, and it’s clear that careful server tuning and ongoing maintenance are needed to keep everything running smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Photo Management and Backup Solution"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

I use Nextcloud for personal photo storage, sharing, and backup. I can safely store my photos without relying on other cloud services, and without having to delete my memories. One of my favorite features is the automatic download of pictures from my smartphone whenever I'm at home, which allows me to easily manage those pictures in albums and present them to my family over my home network. I've also found it beneficial for backing up my files. The initial setup was quite swift for me, even though it was my first time setting up on-premise apps. Being able to skip Google's or Apple's paid cloud services makes Nextcloud particularly valuable for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

I think the design could be modernized, but it's acceptable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Private, Self-Hosted Storage with NextCloud That Keeps My Data Safe"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Nextcloud?

NextCloud lets me keep my data safe and private on my own servers. It’s excellent free software, and that’s a big part of why I use it. Community support is mostly good as well, and when I’ve needed help, it has generally been fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nextcloud?

There are parts of NextCloud that feel cheap or under-developed. For instance, the VFS Client for Mac often fails to sync files to or from my local machine and server, even when the software believes a file to be synced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
