They just claim they only receive email, and they are horrible about responding!! **What problems is Network Solutions solving and how is that benefiting you?** We transferred our customer's business domain and email on a Thursday, but it wouldn't allow us to create an email account in the Professional email account we purchased. We were told the problem was "escalated" to a "specialized team" that would fix the problem within 24-48 hours. We received no updates all weekend, and multiple support chats and calls only told us it was "being worked on." After 67 hours on Monday, we received an email from support claiming we had an email set up in the wrong place, which was not true. 72 hours later, the email still doesn't work, and no one will do anything about it. $700 for hosting support and 2 email boxes with 25 GB storage that cannot be used is unacceptable! ### 2. Adding to the frustration, Network Solutions charges a $60 fee (approximately) just to look into technical issues with our site, which is disappointing given their lack of proactive support. Their customer service, especially via chat, is incredibly slow, often taking over 5 minutes to respond between messages. It is no longer being of benift after being locked out of our account since October of 2023 (2 months and counting) We sent them everyhting incluiding photo ID but chat support cannot do anyhting other then send it to a higher place that is the worst at follow up and commmunication. ### 11. Their business model and practices are way outdated. Their pricing structure is absolutely ridiculous like it should be illegal to charge that much for a domain let alone they charge a fee just for domain forwarding!? I didn't think there could be a worse company than GoDaddy or HostGator but Network Solutions just may have them beat. I will say their customer support does answer rather quickly but aside from that this company has nothing going for them. **What do you dislike about Network Solutions?** Everything. Practices outdated. The backend dashboard is outdated and not user-friendly. Their pricing model is utter nonsense. I don't know who in their right mind would ever pay these prices. They made it incredibly difficult online, necessitating a call to Customer Service. After some negotiations by phone, I was told that my credit card payment WOULD BE REFUNDED and asked to take a survey. Since I thought my request had been granted, I gave a positive review. It has been the same "manual" that offers no contact number, no examples, and no alternate choices when looking for a SOLUTION to my NETWORK issues. **What problems is Network Solutions solving and how is that benefiting you?** We became clients through my mother-in-law who was looking for a company that could host our Non-profit website, she was not familiar with the process or the task at hand. So, she went with NS and I've been regretting her decision ever since. From the Domain Registration perspective, that's actually good as the prices seem to be in line with the competition, but the actual quality and innovation of it's program seems to be lagging behind quite obviously. ### 15. Speeds are terrible, support is worse. Everything that is free and a click on literally any other host, is wildly expensive. For example an SSL, free with almost any host, is nearly $100 per year. **What do you dislike about Network Solutions?** their support will take hours if not days to actually reply. the people on the chat are trained to lie to you (an employee actually told me this straight out). To say it's a fraudulent company would be compliant, considering the way this company manages itself. First, we purchased a domain more than 20 years ago, which was dear to us and our business. Due to an unfortunate mistake, a finance department official canceled the domain renewal charge (because we were not able to recognize the charge in the billing statement which was network solutions' fault) . As we realized that we called the network soltuins and settled the amount of money, we owned them. However, the domain did not appear in our account. I tried to contact chat support which are completely incompetent. If you have chat support, they should be able to solve all problems and not tell you to call the call center. Thereafter I called the call center and after being transferred for 5 times (and waiting over an hour and a half) they told me the domain name need to be "redeemed," and I have to pay 350 USD for it. This is total nonsense. This is a scam company. The matter has been transferred to our legal department which are going to settle it in a court of law. Their customer service is the worst to deal with, and their products always give us problems. In comparison with competitors, NS has fallen down a rung or 6. I am planning to move to a different provider very soon. **What do you dislike about Network Solutions?** Network Solutions used to be a great company to deal with and had an excellent reputation. Unfortunately, as of a couple years ago, customer service has declined to long wait times and never reaching full resolution of your issue. Every time I order an SSL certificate, I complete all of my processing. Still, they fail to achieve their portion, meaning I must wait weeks before I realize the certificate will not be issued despite all validation passing. Calling them and waiting on hold for hours, they push a few buttons and I get the certificate. The following year - rinse and repeat. They do not care. **What problems is Network Solutions solving and how is that benefiting you?** I don't believe Network Solutions is solving any problems. It's a domain registrar and SSL provider. There's not a lot that should be going wrong with these processes, but amazingly, they have accomplished breaking the process for us (and probably many other unspoken IT heroes). They can deliver horrific customer service and withhold your products from you for several weeks until you call them... They do NOT provide an email address for responding to customers' issues, they put you on hold and frequently disconnect you after 20-30 minutes. They say they will take care of your complaint, but they never do and you have to call all over again. It is a nightmare! **What problems is Network Solutions solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is creating big problems for me by adding to my account unauthorized, unnecessary products (such as directory listing of a webpage I do not have). When I tried to transfer my domain name from NWS, they blocked me because I refused to pay for services I did not ask for. I have spent literally more than five hours during the last month trying to resolve this problem, but nothing is ever done. ### 23. Terrible service. Find another vendor. **What do you dislike about Network Solutions?** Was advised to use Network Solutions to register a domain name. What a mistake. First, they do not keep your information private. Sold to tons of 3rd parties and my email and phone were constantly bombarded with offers to build me a site. Second, even though I have no site yet, Network Solutions was charging me "start hosting" fees. As a new user, I do no have any idea about hosting fees. Network Solutions is preying on new users. I have no site but they were charging me to host empty space. Third, in the terms and conditions they have it written that users agree to auto-renewals. So the hosting fees were automatically renewed several months. #Shady Fourth, users are not allowed to turn off their auto-renewals themselves. Users must call and/or use the Network Solutions chat to have their customer service do it for them. #supershady Fifth, I disputed the charges with my credit card. Network Solutions is holding my domain names hostage until I pay the hosting fees, then they will allow me to transfer my domain names to a different site. #ultrashady What a terrible business. Use Hover.com or GoDaddy. Like most similar companies, Network Solutions offers domain purchasing, web hosting, and website creation. Their DNS services section is designed in a nice manner, I do appreciate the simplicity of updating A or M records. Other than that, there has not been much that Network Solutions has done to impress me. **What do you dislike about Network Solutions?** They're expensive. Average price of a domain is $50 compared to places like GoDaddy which is $20. When its a yearly fee, those $50 add up over time for multiple domains. Their UI is a bit tricky to navigate but they have been making updates these past few years to improve it. When I first started using Network Solutions, the renew domain function was difficult to find. In all honesty they are yes men and unless you are technically minded you will be pushed in the wrong direction or easily swayed. **What do you dislike about Network Solutions?** Not sure where to even start this review. Please know that this is not mean spirited, I just never want anyone to go through what we have been through. Our website was down for 2 weeks. We made multiple calls to support, each time being informed that it was a Network Solutions issue and that our issue would be "escalated." This was the final straw after a long string of offenses and left us so wounded we decided to finally switch our provider. We called NS for guidance on the transfer process because we were so badly burned by them we wanted to do our diligence and make sure that things would go well. We were informed that first we needed to update our email credentials so that all notifications would go to the technical person handling the transfer so we did so. After proceeding with the transfer all the emails were sent to the previous email listed. This was confusing but since GoDaddy (our new provider) had the auth codes we assumed nothing was a miss. This was incorrect and after waiting and waiting for the transfer to go through we called NS and were casually informed that actually there was a 60 day lock which had been placed on our account in accordance with ICANN. We were NEVER informed of this policy. We thought we had done our diligence by asking NS directly for guidance but they apparently their representatives are uninformed on their own policies. After being on stressful phone calls where we needed to restate our intent and case each time for 4 hours we were finally directed to a supervisor that after reviewing our account and call info apologized for the complete mismanagement of our business and removed the locks on our account. For anyone looking for a reliable provider of email, domain, or website services, do yourself a favor and DO NOT choose Network Solutions. Even if it is a financial deal, it will cost you in man-hours, funds, and sleepless nights spent on support calls trying to get answers. **What problems is Network Solutions solving and how is that benefiting you?** Network Solutions provided us with domain, email, and website services. At first things were okay but things became so frustrating we slowly removed each component from our account. We were their customer for 13 years. They were reliable for the first 5. Then email became unreliable so we moved to office 365, then they became unreliable with website management so we created our own WordPress site. Then we went through a brutal awakening to their unreliability with domain hosting and switched everything. I would say the benefits were low prices, but it is a full time job to manage them and is not worth the man hours. ### 43.
